My daughter's first salon experience. Hair came out amazing . Stylist was very quick and friendly. I signed my child's name on the list in the morning by 10am as it goes by a first come first serve basis. I was called about a 30-40 mins before it was our turn . This process works so you can continue with ur day instead of just sitting endlessly in the salon. They also wash and blow dry your child's hair at your request prior to braiding. All staff seemed very nice and attentive. Atmosphere is kid friendly. I would definitely come again . Prices are very reasonable. All the kids leave satisfied and looking super cute! What more could you ask for! Keep up the great work ladies!

Great job good price and great environment for kids. My little one shed a few tears mostly because hungry, she didn't complain much about pulling, and her hairdresser have a hug afterwards and she felt better. Kids shows on the tv keep them entertained.

She was true to form and the stylist handled her with compassion and class. At the end she was beaming and shouted "I will come back again." She was complemented all the way home and now her head size is too big for her little body. You now have a loyal customer. Shining Star is clean, stylish, modern and easy to get to. It's a new salon and I wish them all the luck in the world. They are far better than all the other kids salons in the neighborhood.

First, when entering the salon, there was no greeting or acknowledgment, and it was unclear who would be doing my child's hair aside from the name listed on my booking. Professionalism and communication were lacking from the start. Second, some of the stylists have negative attitudes, which is unacceptable in a space that caters to children. My daughter had her hair braided by a stylist named Tiffany, who showed very little patience. She repeatedly complained that my daughter wasn't holding her head still and became visibly frustrated. Rather than maintaining composure and professionalism, she started shutting down, stopped braiding my daughter's hair, and got on her phone, behaving immaturely and unprofessionally as if she were the child. Her behavior was disgusting, and after finishing my daughter's hair, she acted as if she were mad at her. The energy in that salon is very strange for adults who claim to specialize in braiding children's hair. As an educator who works with children daily, I know that patience, empathy, and understanding are essential, especially when working with young children. You never know if a child has a disability or other challenges that affect their comprehension or ability to follow directions. If a stylist is not comfortable working with children or lacks the temperament for it, perhaps this is not the right profession for them. Overall, this experience was disappointing and unacceptable. I hope the salon addresses these concerns and ensures all staff are trained to interact with children in a patient, kind, and professional manner.

Every day I wake up wishing I hadn't. Ashmaly was incredibly unprofessional and sloppy. Pouring too dark of a toner over my blonde hair making it brown. I asked to maintain my current blonde and to just touch up my roots. She was alone in the salon and tending to another client while working on me. There were no assistants, no one else there... (red flag) while the slathered on toner sat in my hair too long. I had to physically get up and tell her to wash it out. Why is that my responsibility? I contacted the salon to fix it and they told me to come in immediately which they should've advised against. The aggressive lifting and retoning on my hair has permanently damaged it. My hair was too porous and the color just faded away to a brassy orange instead of cool blonde within a few hours. So I incurred trauma for absolutely no reason. My hair color and structure are ruined. In the two weeks since this has happened my scalp is extremely irritated, my hair is simultaneously falling out rapidly along with breakage. I was working steadily on my hair health and it will take 6 months to a year if I'm lucky to return it to its former state. It's so extremely dry and so fragile that I can't even brush it while dry and have to invest in many expensive products like K18 to try and help it but there's really no fixing it besides painstakingly growing it out and trimming it. I can't even get a blow out to make myself feel better. I have to wait months to heat style. I've contacted the salon multiple times and never received an apology or even an offer of free products / trims to help my hair. I had to shell out even more money to get treatments and a haircut at another salon which was professional enough to be very careful with my weakened hair and advised me against blowouts to maintain the integrity of what's left of my hair. I only wish Little Lion salon was professional enough to say it was way too soon to lift my hair and just wait. It would've saved me a lot of stress, trauma, and money. This has been a complete nightmare. You tanked my self esteem. I'm humiliated going out with my hair like this. My hair was just fine before and now I have to look into wigs (YET another expense) to try and save my sanity. You really should be ashamed of yourselves for what you did to me and showing zero empathy on top of it. It's not just hair it goes deeper than that. You need to be careful with people's hair. If you're incapable of something then SAY NO and save them from all the stress and trauma. PLEASE do not trust this salon to do your hair. Edit: like I said in my review the fix was done too quickly and I didn't realize the damage that was done until after I left the salon when the color quickly faded back to orange a few hours later and became drier and drier. My hair is STILL rapidly breaking and shedding and I will have to use a wig due to the extreme damage this salon did. They refuse to compensate me or take actual accountability. They said to come in to see the same stylist that damaged my hair. I asked to see someone else, the salon owner or someone in a senior position and they refused that as well. Notice they say they wish me well when I'm literally going bald and they've destroyed my hair and confidence.

We have had only good interactions until today. Today, I witnessed Estelle take a bite of her breakfast sandwich and then come over to begin her work. Before she started I mentioned that my daughter has severe food allergies. I asked that she didn't use any products and asked if she wouldn't mind washing her hands before she began since my daughter has severe food allergies. She said she did just wash her hands. I mentioned how I saw her toucher her food before walking over. She was visibly annoyed and made a comment to her coworker. When she returned from washing her hands she came back with hands dripping wet and in a rude tone asked if she was allowed to dry her hands. She said she wanted to follow my rules. We left without a scene. I wanted to take this time to educate those who may not be familiar with severe food allergies. Even a touch of an allergen can cause severe life threatening reactions. A simple ask of washing hands to keep my daughter safe shouldn't have been a big deal. To be mocked and disrespected was completely uncalled for.
