After getting quotes from several places in town, both for renting and buying, Black Tie offered the best value, so we decided to go with them. On my first visit, a young lady helped me. She was courteous and professional, knowledgeable, and able to answer all of my questions. We came back a few weeks later to reserve the tuxedos and get everyone measured. Two young men helped us that day, and we were given a higher price than the original quote. When I mentioned the price the young lady had given me, they honored the original quote without any issue. I appreciated that. Because one of the men couldn't make it to the fitting with the rest of us, he went in separately at a later time. An older gentleman helped him and, not knowing that I had already paid the deposits, had him pay a deposit for his tuxedo. Later, when I was paying the remaining balance, the total initially came out differently from what I had calculated. I pointed this out, and after checking the numbers with a calculator, they agreed that my total was correct. I don't believe any of these discrepancies were intentional. Since we were helped by different people at different times, it seemed like there may have been some communication or record-keeping issues regarding the original quote and payments already made. I would just recommend keeping track of your quotes and payments, especially if different members of your party are coming in separately. The store is small but has a good variety of suits and tuxedos on display. There are fitting rooms and comfortable chairs, which made the process easy for everyone. The men and the boy tried on different items until they found what fit them best. The staff assisting us were helpful throughout the fitting process. Overall, the rental process from beginning to end was pretty smooth. Everyone we worked with was professional and helpful, and we were happy with the value and service we received.

You can see in the pictures that they gave us the last tux available and just did a half ass job. The tie and the vest were worn out. One cuff link broke on the spot as we were trying to put them on, the back of the jacket was dirty with a white spot of god knows what, and the sleeve was wrinkled. This was an upsetting experience and I was embarrassed for The Black Tie. To rent out a tux in that condition. Shame on you guys!! My son ended up wearing a tie instead of the bow tie. Do better on quality control, Black Tie!! I should've gotten my money back because tux rentals are not cheap. Needless to say, I think next time we'll look elsewhere. I spoke to a guy who works there and he apologized and I appreciate it but it doesn't do anything for all of those hiccups.

The girls that were there were pretty helpful but one of them gave us the wrong size shirt aaaaand we paid to get his pants hemmed and the seamstress did a horrible job. The measurements were way off, one of the leg was shorter than the other. Luckily, we know someone that knows about these things and she notice it right away. Another thing they don't tailor the jackets. So glad we got that tailored or else my husband would've been walking down the aisle with an oversize jacket.

I am very late to this review, but I just wasn't an active yelper back when I got married. My…read morewedding was November of 2019 and LBD took care of my dress, one of my bridesmaid's dresses, and a tuxedo for my daughter. The experience for my daughter and I was perfect. We are a bit unconventional: I didn't want a white dress and my daughter didn't want a dress at all, so we had some issues at other places. Particularly for my daughter, who seemed to scare the heck out of any guy working at a tux shop when he realized he'd have to measure her. Thank goodness we found LBD where they fitted her for a tux that she loved with no problems. I ended up with a bridesmaid dress since I didn't want white, but they recommended a seamstress who helped me embellish it into just what I wanted. The missing star is for my bridesmaid's experience. When she tried the sample on in the store, it fit like a dream, it was just the wrong color. It would seem when they put the order in, they ordered the wrong size completely (an 8 instead of a 6) and since it took 3 months to get there, we had to have it severely altered just to fit, which was sad for my friend because she had planned to alter it into something she would wear again and again, but all her alteration budget went to making it fit instead. She did reach out to the owner to try and get them to make it right in some way. Unfortunately, they took no responsibility for the mistake, and dismissively gave her $50 for alterations. Alterations which ended up costing $110 after it finally fit. So I guess it just depends. I had a great time with this business, my best friend not so much.

Unfortunately, from the moment I walked in, I felt more like I was being interrogated than welcomed as a customer. The woman helping me repeatedly lectured me about how I had waited too long to purchase a dress, even after I explained my situation. Instead of feeling like they wanted to help me find a solution, I honestly felt like I was bothering them by being there. I also wasn't made to feel comfortable simply browsing. Customers are limited to trying on three dresses, and I was told that if I wanted to try on certain dresses displayed higher up, there would be a $10 charge. What made the experience even more surprising was that the store was completely empty while I was there. The disappointing part is that they actually have beautiful dresses. I found one that I really liked and could have purchased, but I chose not to because of how I was treated. Shopping for a dress for your son's wedding should be an exciting experience, especially when you're already stressed because your original dress didn't work out. A little kindness and good customer service would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, I left feeling unwelcome and will purchase my dress elsewhere.

They made me feel so comfortable and they truly care about the bride's experience when dress shopping. My experience: I called Madeleine's to see if they had any options available that I could buy "off the rack" because another local dress shop ordered the wrong color dress that I had wanted. Sherri answered and got me in as soon as they could for an appointment. In a stressful situation, Sherri was such a light and helped as much as she could, and the shop had a lot of great options. When I went in to my appointment Misty was a huge help too! Side note, there was a good amount of options for mother of the bride dresses as well. She gave me tips on dresses and gave me honest opinions. She also had a robe for me inside the spacious dressing room and helped zip and unzip me. She has a very efficient system of trying on dresses, you can tell she knows and loves what she does!! She also didn't force me to go outside if I didn't like a particular dress, she just brought the next one with no judgement. She had a pedestal set up with a brightly lit room, and took the time to really spread the dress and train out so we could fully appreciate the dresss. She also picked out the veils that would match the dress I was wearing with my desires in mind as well. She found out that my ceremony would be taking place outdoors, so she brought me outside to see how a dress I loved would look like in the sun. It was beautiful both outdoors and inside! I tried on a few more dresses but we quickly realized I was comparing it to the one I loved. I had no expectations of finding the dress, but I did with Sherri's help! She encouraged me to put on the dress again and allowed my party and I a moment to be together. The price was super reasonable (much better than Bay Area prices according to my friends). It was such an amazing lovely time spent and I'm happy to be a Madeline's Bride!! Thank you, Sherri!
