They send you a questionnaire and ask you for your vision of your gown and your wedding. I really wanted a concierge type experience for the first time looking at dresses. Sherri delivered! She made me feel like a queen and encouraged my party to pick out any dress they wanted me to try on. She looked at my pinterest board for ideas, but I really had no idea what I would pick. She gave me tips on dresses and gave me honest opinions. She also had a robe for me inside the spacious dressing room and helped zip and unzip me. She has a very efficient system of trying on dresses, you can tell she knows and loves what she does!! She also didn't force me to go outside if I didn't like a particular dress, she just brought the next one with no judgement. She had a pedestal set up with a brightly lit room, and took the time to really spread the dress and train out so we could fully appreciate the dresss. She also picked out the veils that would match the dress I was wearing with my desires in mind as well. She found out that my ceremony would be taking place outdoors, so she brought me outside to see how a dress I loved would look like in the sun. It was beautiful both outdoors and inside! I tried on a few more dresses but we quickly realized I was comparing it to the one I loved. I had no expectations of finding the dress, but I did with Sherri's help! She encouraged me to put on the dress again and allowed my party and I a moment to be together. The price was super reasonable (much better than Bay Area prices according to my friends). I ordered a custom dress, and when there were unexpected shipping issues and I still didn't have a dress 2 weeks before my wedding, Sherri immediately stepped in and went above and beyond to make things right. I am absolutely heartbroken over the owner, Sherri, losing my wedding dress after dropping it off for cleaning and preservation back in 2022. Not only has it now been two years of trying to work with her to help locate my missing dress, she has ignored me numerous times, made empty promises to help and never even reimbursed us for the payment for the cleaning and preservation after saying that she would. I felt we had become friends during the process of my wedding which makes me feel even more hurt and heartbroken with this situation that she has created. I have even offered to help locate my wedding dress, skirt and veil. I have been very patient with her but I am completely crushed by the way she has handled this situation, the lack of care to help me, no responses, lies and the loss of an irreplaceable dress, skirt and veil from my special wedding day. The last time we spoke, she told me that she needed more time to check her storage even though we are now at two years past when it should have arrived to me. I still am holding hope that these items are found as they are irreplaceable and something my husband and I want to pass down to our kids one day. My hope is that others don't have to experience this with their special wedding dress. PLEASE, if anyone had their dress cleaned and preserved around the beginning of 2022 from this place, please double check that you received the correct dress back. I went to the off the rack sale to look for my wedding dress and I am so glad I did! I ended up finding my dress today at a reasonable price. The ladies were great with assisting me get into the wedding dresses. There were also comfy couches for my bridesmaids to view my dresses. Highly recommend the sale if you're in the market for a wedding dress. Was definitely cheaper than what I found at David's Bridal due to all the tariffs. UPDATE: I've now put one star unlike my original review due to the harassment ive receive from the owner once you post an HONEST review about your experience. As for the comment about it being a fake review, feel free to scroll to other reviews which basically say the same thing. Trouble with delivery date. Not coming in on time. All that. When an owner of a store goes out of her way to track down the contact info of a customer to try and harass them she's obviously bad business. If her business is so great, why does one review matter so much? Feel free to scroll to the bottom of the page to unrecommended reviews to see reviews dating back several years all with the same issues I have. The Jeff guy who messages every person who gives a negative review is also associated with Sherri. So honestly she keeps making the situation worse for herself I'll start off by saying I do love the dress I bought for $2,300. But that's all I can really say, and the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. I've been driving past Madeline's in old town since I was a young teenager. I enjoy supporting local and their shop seemed wonderful. It's relatively clean, has a good selection all that stuff. But the problem is well.... The owner Sherri. I ordered my dress in April of 2022. Almost 10 months before my wedding. I was told it would arrive by July or august. Unfortunately my dress did not arrive and when October came, I called and asked if it had arrived since no one had communicated with me since the day I bought the dress. I called and was told my dress WOULDNT EVEN BE ORDERED UNTIL NOVEMBER 26. As in she was trying to order my dress during the holiday season, six weeks before my wedding when I had bought it literally 6 months prior. I was extremely upset but the fun thing about this place, good luck getting ahold of Sherri. She is "either out of town" or unavailable...... and by unavailable I mean I saw her hiding in the back refusing to see clients. When my dress did finally arrive in early November, after I threw a fit back in October, I then Had to wait two weeks for Sherri to be in the store! Uhm... why? I was told Sherri had to be in store in order for me to pick up my dress so she could suggest alterations. So I waited two weeks and when I arrived Sherri wasnt even there. No one recommended alterations either. So I'm genuinely confused. Not that I would have got them done there as their pricing became more and more clear to me as overpriced and not worth the drama or stress. Considering this is supposed to be the dress for the most important day of my life so far, the experience was disappointing and disheartening. A few things about this place: 1. When your order your dress beware. I've heard from vendors that she literally CANT place the order for your dress because she's behind on her payments. So you might not get your dress until a few days before your wedding. While I cannot confirm this, it's disheartening to hear regardless that orders are not being placed by n time and therefor your constantly stressing about arrival time. 2. When you do finally receive your dress just go pick it up. You don't need Sherri for literally anything. You paid for it, so go get it. 3. She trash talks her employees in front of customers. If you work for her or have worked for her.... I'm so sorry. Making comments like "yeah she had a miscarriage. Isn't kharma a bitch" is so unbelievably disgusting. Like who says that???? Honestly if you want to buy a dress and have an amazing experience go to Ivory Bridal or Cinderella Cellar. Actually just go anywhere else. Screw supporting local. If you want to support local there's plenty of other shops to go too. Just out of spite, I'd highly recommend Ivory Bridal. I hear it's run by a former employee of hers. I did actually have an appointment at this shop, and had I known all this information I know now, I would have never supported Madeline's. I just got my dress here a couple of weeks ago!! I went in with my mom and grandmother, who is currently in a wheelchair, Candie my attendant was amazing and so helpful with my grandma's disability. I came in, not expecting to find my dress after many failed attempts, but I was able to try on 10 dresses and then retry on my favorite! We honestly had a great experience with Sherri and her staff; everyone was quite nice and pleasant to work with! When we originally ordered the dress in the spring, we were concerned that it wouldn't arrive in time. We were reassured that the dress would be here in early October - and that's when it came. Sherri was also able to connect us to this lovely seamstress named Samantha, who custom made the sleeves and also did alterations on the dress. This is a review of the shopping experience here, I haven't purchased a dress yet. This was one of the first places I thought of when starting to look for a wedding dress. They have such a charming store with a selection of different kinds of dresses. I feel like they are good quality and reasonable prices for that. Budget wise they seem to settle mostly in the 2-3k range, although I'm sure they have some that are more and less, those are just mostly what I was picking. Bella was my bridal consultant although Sherri the owner is also present and available throughout as well. They are great about letting you pick what you like, but also making suggestions and helping you visualize any changes you could make to ones you like to make them perfect. Bella has been so incredibly patient with my indecisiveness, I really appreciate that they are never pushy, but do follow up to see if you need help or have questions.
