The doctor repeatedly emphasized how busy he is, which came across as rushed and somewhat dismissive. Before proceeding with treatment (Botox for TMJ), I reached out via email and phone with specific questions, including a request for him to consult with my neurologist, which my neurologist recommended. I was told that the doctor deemed the consultation unnecessary and that he would address any questions at the time of the appointment. I was also told he was too busy to review my questions in advance. This made it difficult to feel fully informed or confident going into the procedure. I decided to pursue the procedure anyway. To his credit, during the procedure he did answer my questions and agreed to treat the requested area. However, at my two-week follow-up, I reported increased pain that had been impacting my ability to work and function. The doctor shared a story about another patient he described as someone who complains all the time. The story felt indirect but strongly implied that patient concerns like mine might be exaggerated. This made me feel uncomfortable and dismissed at a time when I was seeking support and clarity about worsening symptoms. Additionally, while in the waiting room, I observed another patient being questioned in a similarly dismissive tone when she asked for additional help post-treatment. This reinforced my concern about how patient concerns are handled in this practice. Overall, while the procedure itself was completed, the communication style, lack of responsiveness beforehand, and dismissive handling of post-procedure concerns made this a negative experience. I would encourage others to ask detailed questions in advance and consider whether this practice is a good fit for them. Long-term results of my treatment experience are yet to be determined, but I will not be returning due to the unprofessional manner in which the provider speaks about, and to, patients.

Even though the office was undoubtedly operating on a skeleton crew, I was able to easily reschedule by phone. When I made the call, I opted for a June appointment, figuring that things would be *mostly* reopened by then. Well, the appointed day (today) rolled around, and I ventured to my appointment (Note: the office recently moved to a new location, just a few blocks away from its old office on Grand). Although I was nervous about going in for what is arguably an elective procedure, I am so glad that I did. The new procedures require that one not wait around in the waiting area, so I can't really say that much about that portion of the practice. The new rooms appear more private/set apart and I noticed the receptionist wiping items down constantly, as well as the hygienist taking extra precautions. Most importantly is the professionalism of the staff and Dr. Patel in making sure that I felt comfortable and at ease. Going to the dentist can be nerve-wracking, and this uncertain time can amplify the sensation. I am glad that I didn't put off this routine appointment any longer, as my teeth now feel squeaky clean after 3 months of quarantine/stay at home orders.

There wasn't any one at the desk when i arrived but there was another patron sitting and waiting so i just sat down next to him. 10 minutes passed, someone came to get him and ask me to check in on an ipad. After checking in, no one came to check on me. I guess someone forgot what they were doing because at 630 another employee told me they were closed now. I was pretty upset so they squeezed me in and did a scan. I ended up leaving at 745. A simple appt turned into a long process. This is my 2nd time doing a refinement. These scans must not be as good as they claim to be because my aligners never fit correctly. I'm going to wait till the end of this cycle to do a review on the smile direct site but in the mean time, this location needs to get it together.

From the moment I shared my struggles, Vanessa made me feel truly seen, not judged. By the end of my very first visit, I felt so comfortable and reassured. When I returned for a deep cleaning, I was dreading it. My gums were tender and since she needed to go under the gum line, Vanessa recommended numbing my mouth to make sure I didn't feel any pain. I was told by the dentist here that I needed a crown. I was on the verge of going through with it…read morewhen I decided to get a second opinion at a larger, more specialized dental hospital. Their verdict? I absolutely did NOT need a crown. There was no medical justification for it whatsoever. I am furious. A crown is an irreversible procedure -- once they grind down your tooth, there is no undoing it. The fact that this dentist recommended a completely unnecessary, irreversible procedure is deeply alarming. Was it incompetence or was it to pad the bill? Either way, it is unacceptable. After my experience, I looked at reviews here and on Google and found that many other patients had the exact same issue -- being told they needed crowns they didn't actually need. This is clearly a pattern, not a one-time mistake. Do NOT blindly trust any recommendation for crowns, fillings, or major dental work from this office. If they tell you that you need a crown or any expensive procedure, please go get a second opinion from a different dentist immediately. I almost made a terrible, irreversible mistake by trusting this place. Don't let the same thing happen to you.
