DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! AKI, the owner of Blinds International is a crook. We had a contract for Plantation shutters to be installed. Contract signed 1/31/2031. He said due to Covid it would take 6-8 weeks for install. Took $3,500, which was 50% of down payment for work. After 6 weeks, I reached out to him to find out where he was with install and he started giving me the run around. Long story short, after several weeks, calls and him giving us one story/excuse after another, he stopped answering all calls and texts. It's now been 5 months. I've had to file a case in small claims court to try and recoup my $3,500 deposit. There's also another judgment against him for 13,000 from someone else. BE WARNED! I gave a deposit in April and he never came to install and made so many excuses as to why he couldn't come. Moved (found out he was evicted), Covid, nobody wants to work, missing parts, raining, etc. I requested a refund multiple times and never received it. Had blinds installed from them 15 years ago so figured I'd see if they were still around. When I went to google their phone number i ended up seeing over 30 bad reviewed on "Better Business Bureau" and Yelp wasn't much better. I had a good experience before so I figured I'd give them chance to come out and quote. Aki said he would be at my place at 10:30am. At 12:30pm I finally told him I couldn't wait any longer. We rescheduled for the next day at 10am and he never showed again. I text him and he side he was busy on another project and that this happens. Do yourself a favor and purchase elsewhere! I wanted to give this company a chance to at least have the decency to follow up with us after the trouble and rudeness we received when their promise to provide the product and time of installment. The owner of this company who I spoke will way to often was rude and full of excuses and even the installers who are hired freelance advised they do not enjoy doing jobs for him. He over charges and never stand by his product. At one point I advised him if the job is not completed as the work ordered was signed then I will take him to small claims court and sew him. Now I have never sewed anyone in my life but this is how angry I was towards him. He had the nerve to say if I don't pay him the balance then he would put a lean towards my house. WHAT! this guy is something else he wants to threaten me for a job not completed. Finally after three times the job was finally done it only took seven weeks when we were advised no more than 3 hrs labor. I had a mixed experience. When I called the office they were friendly and I had someone out here within the next couple of days to measure. They were very quick and helpful. When I explained what I wanted he had a great suggestion at a very reasonable price. The installation didn't go as well. The installer did not show up as promised. He was supposed to install the blinds from 10 to 12. Just plain verticals. At 11:45 I called the office. They were surprised the installer had not arrived yet. They called him and he ended up being at another job. They said he would be at my house within the hour. I asked that he call or text when he was on his way. They assured me he was. I hadn't heard anything after a half hour so I jumped in the showing thinking I would have plenty of notice that someone was on the way. That was not the case and I was still getting dressed and my hair wasn't brushed yet. He didn't introduce himself and when I opened the door he just stood there. I verified who he was and then let him in. He asked me to move the bed further away from the walls. So I did. I didn't realize I would be doing that. He left a mess. There is mud and dirt all over my front hallway. Broken bits of blinds and screws left laying around the ground around the house as well as inside the bedrooms and living room. Thankfully I was able to pick them up before my child or dog cut themselves on one of the sharp pieces or screws sticking up. He was supposed to uninstall the old blinds and I can still see bits of the old blind attachments that were not removed. Overall I feel that I got a really good price and the office was great, but the installation was seriously lacking. I just cleaned the house and now I need to go mop again. Fine for plain verticals but I would go somewhere else for plantations. read more

We were referred to Blinds International and my wifey reviewed them on Google and contracted with them to do the blinds for several of our windows and doors in our home. For once I am glad I did not follow the one review on Yelp or I may have been dissuaded to do so. The sales gentleman Ralph? came right on time and walked around the house with us and was very pleasant to deal with, unlike other companies we had come in he was willing to work with us as we had a few custom made blinds on which only the runners and track needed to be replaces and he was willing to do that and did not try and talk us into replacing the entire blind for a hefty cost. He was well equipped with samples to show us and was very helpful in matching some of the blinds we already had. His prices were VERY reasonable. He promised us the job would be done Friday (today). This morning they informed us there would be someone here between 10-12 they were true to their word (something that is so rare in Florida) that I was a little in shock! Mr Zee arrived at 10.30 am and boy was he efficient as he knew what he was doing and was a real professional and yes he did work with the speed of summer lightning as he was all done by 12 noon! His job was clean and neat and yes he did clean up things well before he left! (we may have to thank his Mother for bringing him up well!) All in all I was very satisfied with his work that I showed him the previous YELP review and he said the owner probably did not even know they had a non flattering YELP review and he said he would look into the matter as I told him that YELP matters to lot of us Yelpers! I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM FOR THEIR PRICE, EFFICENCY AND PROFESSIONALISM!! I will be using them in the future! read more

Blinds International have given u a very pleasant experience. They have been very reliable and provided us excellent service. They installed blinds for us 2 years ago. We then had some issues with them and they immediately offered to repair for us very promptly (at no charge, except for the technician's visits). The technician (Zee) is extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. He goes out of his way to keep you happy, beyond expectations. Highly recommended! read more

No customer service skills at all! I called them and was put on hold for several minutes. After finally getting a person on the line, the woman was very rude and had an attitude. She was short with our conversation and seemed to be annoyed at my questions. After not getting anywhere with my phone call, I was forced to choose another company to call. This company is horrible. I would leave zero stars if possible. In October 2020 we decided to hire them to install blinds at our office. They required a $2500 deposit, which they took gladly. Once they took the deposit, they disappeared. To this day they still have not installed our blinds or returned our deposit. Michelle is the rep we dealt with and she was the absolute worst. I am surprised by some of the less than flattering reviews below. Because this has not been my experience. I have used this company many many times as I renovate property for myself and other people. Usually I take my blinds to them for repair. Or take my measurements to them to make new tracks for vertical blinds. But I have had them come out to measure and install in the past . And they are always friendly, polite, and fast as they can be. I drive out of my way to use them because of previous experiences with other blind companies which are closer. Terrible service. We were scheduled to have our blinds installed last Thursday. They had to reschedule to Friday and on Friday they did not show and rescheduled to Saturday. Saturday morning I called to confirm and they told me that the installer would be at our home by 3 PM. The installer called us on Saturday after four to let us know he was on his way. We refused the service because this was totally unacceptable. I recommend that you get your window treatments done by any other company. read more

My husband just finished rupping own the last plantation shutter that was installed with way too much calk and reinstalled it himself the right way. I purchased blinds for 2 French doors and 2 windows in September 2015. Yesterday, November 4th, the blind at my daughter's room stopped working (less than 2 months!). The mechanism does not allow the blind to close and her bedroom door is all exposed (its glass so the public light is right in her bedroom)! I called the company, explained the situation, and they did not make a single effort to get it solved ASAP, I will have to wait days until someone will be able to fix. The costumer service is terrible! BE AWARE IF IT HAPPENS WITH YOU AND YOUR BLINDS ARE 3 months or more YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY A FEE TO HAVE IT FIXED. read more

No service after the sale. My sales representative Debbie, came to my home rush through and did measurement. We had cell shades installed. At the time of the sale Debbie told us the no cords would be hang on the floor when rolled up, this was a real concern for my husband. She assured us that when installed they would take care of that. However when installed the cords are dragging on the floor. When I called her after the install she told me, "oh know that is not something that we do"... I told you to go to the store and get some hooks and fix them yourself.... " lies!!! We had a terrible experience with this company! From start to finish, the process of getting plantation shutters for two windows took six months, where it should have taken six to eight weeks. Dealing with this company was unpleasant, to say the least. Our initial window measurement was rescheduled three times by the salesperson. After ordering, I called several times to check on our shutters and the woman who schedules appointments was rude. I finally demanded to speak with the owner, Aki, and he was beyond rude, disrespectful, and accusatory towards me. The installer was just as disrespectful.
