Nachos

Blind squirrel always has amazing service and excellent staff! I enjoy the events they host and the food they serve is my most favorite bar restaurant! They have a vball area which is really neat to watch live games while you eat and chill vibes all around!

The live music was great... the food was amazing... friendly & attentive staff. My family loved the atmosphere. It's a very large lace with lots of activity going on with different sports. A very fun & entertaining venue. See could have stayed for hours.

We visited on a Sunday evening and were able to find both parking and a table right away, which made for a relaxed start. The nachos were generous in portion, perfect for sharing, and tasted great. The wings were nicely crispy and very satisfying. The service was exceptionally friendly. I will definitely be coming back.

We came here for NYE. It was a fun night. For $20 we got "$500" in gaming chips. We could exchange each $100 chip for. Raffle ticket. We got there about 7:05 and the doors opened at 7. We had to wait outside in the freezing cold for about $20 while they checked people in. I'm not sure why it took so long but it did. We were sat and got a table as soon as we paid our $20 cover charge. We ordered drinks and food pretty quickly. The food was ok. I got the buffalo chicken wrap. It could have used more buffalo sauce, but it was otherwise good. My husband got a burger. It looked much better than it tasted. The meat was just lacking seasoning. If they would have properly seasoned the meat it would have been great. The beers were good, but expensive. The draft beers were between $10-$13. The $10 mixed drink "buckets" were tasty and worth their price however. I'm not a fan of Elvis music but the Elvis they had doing the live entertainment was pretty good. We had fun with the "gambling". They had roulette and black jack, but only 2 tables of each so they were a little crowded. We ended up playing roulette and I found out I quietly enjoy playing it. They abruptly ended the gambling portion at 11 but no one knew they were stopping at 11 until they stopped so we were all a little disappointed. Overall, it was a fun time and we will probably come back.

2/11/2026 We took 13 of our Swan Pointe HOA Residents to Blind Squirrel for dinner. In case you're not familiar with Blind Squirrel, it's a popular American Restaurant and Sports Bar known for its large outdoor patio, sand volleyball courts, live music and extensive bar with bourbon and beers. I'm thinking that about 9 of our party of 13 had Fish and Chips. It came with 2-3 pieces of fish, a small portion of Coke Slaw, 3 Hush Puppies and another side of your choice. My husband chose Onion Rings. ( they were really good with no grease.) I had 3 Mini Cheeseburger Sliders and I was able to choose a side. There are free sides and premium sides for $2.00 more. Other selections that were available was Burgers, Pizza and Appetizers. Our server, Misty was fabulous and did a great job taking care of all of us. Our food was brought out very quickly considering how many of us there was. She was so friendly and was one of the best servers ever! We'd love to have Misty again. Their GM, Rod Young wasn't there that night, but he has certainly trained an excellent staff. There was a big crowd last night but the noise volume was around medium. We had a great time and enjoyed our food! Go stop by and see the restaurant for yourself. Robyn

Beer is good, patio is great. Not dog friendly when their website says it is a dog friendly spot. Not being consistent is a bummer.

The last time I was there I had the Breakfast Burrito and loved it, but I prefer it without the Pico de gallo. It comes with Chopped bacon, three eggs scrambled, cheddar and jack cheeses, pico de gallo and fries all wrapped in a flour tortilla. It's really great! My husband had the Bacon Cheeseburger. Single hamburger patty topped with one slice of American cheese, two slices of hickory smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and Duke's® Mayonnaise. He also likes The Bo' Burger. It's hard for him to choose. The Bo' Burger has grilled onions, American Cheese, lettuce, tomato & pickles and a Special Sauce! For $4.00 more you could have a double Bo' Burger. In fact they have 9 different hamburgers to choose from, 5 different sandwiches, 9 Starters, and more. You can even buy your dog some handmade dog treats. Our granddog, HashBrown really liked them. This night Baseball, Softball and Harness racing was on and there was quite a few families gathered inside the restaurant and a lot of friends eating outside with their fur friends. It was a nice volume in the restaurant. Our food came very quickly, Sebastian was a great server. Every time he passed by our table, he smiled and checked on us. I also kept thinking that he really looked like someone I had met before. When he brought us our ticket, I saw that his name was Sebastian and I remembered that he had waited on us a year or two ago, twice! He even remembered us! He was such a great server then and now that I had done 3 reviews on him. Good job Sebastian! Robyn

Sun was…read moreshining and light breeze, but we had to retreat indoors for dining when a sudden pop up storm arrived. Extensive bar menu and I tried a peach daiquiri with no alcohol version. Other diners chose the Pina colada and also a Friday cocktail special of Holy Water, which included blue curaçao. Feedback was mixed. We started with 1/2 pound of hot and spicy peel and eat shrimp and a dozen oysters. Great preparation and taste. It was apparently all so good and we had such a great time that we forgot to take photos of the food. We shared steamer bowls and a captain's platter. This allowed for a variety of crab legs, steamed oysters, sausages, corn, red potatoes, garlic Parmesan bread, shrimp, grouper, onion rings, clam strips, along with butter, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce. We had arrived famished and we all left satiated and carrying out To Go boxes. Our server was fantastic, helping us relocate inside when the storm popped up, and very attentive through our entire visit. Looking forward to future visits and more great seafood.

It's always a good choice if you want fried seafood and cheaper shell fish. It hasn't changed one iota since our first visit in 2010. My daughter and I were doing some Christmas shopping in Louisville and we'd have much rather preferred getting oysters and the seafood tower at The Capital Grille by the Oxmoor but we were kinda "steaked" out. It's always been busy and popular but when we got there it was practically empty, by the time we left it had filled to capacity. Lots of oak tables and the decor is typical seafood restaurant on the gulf shore. It's has a weathered look but I think that's the point, it doesn't distract. The staff has always been friendly and since we beat the crowd, service was quick. We started off with a dozen oysters (I'm guessing from the gulf) which is half the price of oysters at all the raw bars at premium steakhouses. Yeah they're not Chesapeakes, Kumamotos, or blue points but my palates not so refined so I can't tell the difference from the eastern gulf oysters. We also got the smoked tuna dip, which has always been popular with my kids. I secretly think it's just Krogers flavored tuna with a few dashes of liquid smoke but it's still very good. We were there mainly for the oysters and the tuna dip so we just got sandwiches, the grouper sandwich and the oyster po boy. They are fine, what you'd expect to get in Kentucky, but nothing like you could get on the coast, they are neither as big nor as fresh. If you want a bit of the gulf coast and some reasonably priced shellfish or a seafood boil Rumor's on Shelbyville is a decent choice.

What else was great was that we were sitting across from Ralph, who has been studying the game and now we know, he's an expert. Our server tonight was Clay and let me tell you, he did a great job. He had a lot of energy and never slowed down all night. He went around and got our drink orders and our appetizer orders. They have Happy Hours from 3:00 until 6:00, so we all rushed in to get there before it was over. They have appetizers from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The prices range from $3.00 - $6.00. There are also Happy Hours prices on some drinks. Check their app for details. We looked over our menus and they had quite a bit of choices. Both kinds of Wings, a variety of Chicken, many types of Burgers , and Salads that were really fresh. I had a Patty Melt on Toast. It had Swiss and American cheese, Bacon and 2 Smashed Hamburger patties. I had them leave off the onions. I loved the burger. I chose the side salad. It was so delicious. My husband had the All American Burger. He thought it was really good. He chose Onion Rings as his side. Looking around the table, a lot of people chose Hamburgers, Wings, Cheese and Dip. We really had a great time and I have to brag on Clay one more time. He did the best job with taking care of 13 people at our table plus a pretty good amount of people at the tables behind us. We also want to thank their GM, Tina Suddeth, for being a Big Supporter of Swan Pointe.

Now to the food....idk if it's because there's so many amazing chicken places out now or if the food has really went downhill since when I first visited a BW3; but, it was mediocre at best. We ordered the ultimate nachos and they tasted like generic tortillas you would get at a gas station. Not impressed at all. They did have a pickle hot pepper that was very tasty. I ordered the Crispy Buffalo Chicken Salad and it was ok. It all came down to the chicken. It just wasn't that great. The girls got boneless wings they didn't eat a lot. I don't like the feeling of paying $70+ for three people feeling like we couldn't went through a drive thru and had tastier food. The 3 stars are for the atmosphere and the service which was great.

I also love the corners with comfy couches and chairs. Plenty of beer to enjoy plus a few slushies - although those are so sweet that I'm not a fan. You can bring in your own food or order delivery from a few spots in the Gaslight District. I especially appreciate it's a family friendly space because my sons are teens. It was so much fun to enjoy music bingo with them while eating pizza from Parlour. Outdoor seating as well - lots of it. Easy street parking. Quick service. I also ordered an Old fashioned, and it was an ultimate concoction with a giant rock of ice. You know an Old fashioned will be good when they don't serve it with chipped ice. We hung out for a few hours and played cards, and the bartenders were friendly and accommodating. I wish this place was closer to us cause we would be regulars! At the very least, we will return in cooler weather to enjoy the outside patio.
