Overall underwhelming. First we were offered a high top table for two, for a party of three, no thank you. Then we waited forever for drinks. If you like your beer and your food at the same temperature, this may be the place for you. The pizza was ok, served at room temperature, the pretzels were very good. The Cobb salad was inedible, wilted and brown lettuce, see my pic. Get rid of the 20 tvs, get rid of the couches, cut back on the unimpressive bourbon selection and focus on your food and service. I've eaten at the Louisville location many times, never had a bad experience, this location has a lot of growing to do. read more

We had a feeling lunch was not going to go well. As we walked toward the front door we saw 3 piles of puke from the night before. We looked past it thinking we've dined here before. It was good. Then, the staff looked like they didn't want to be there. Not engaged at all. We sat and I ordered the spinach chicken salad wrap. My wife ordered the chicken Caesar wrap with crispy chicken. My order was correct but my wife's had grilled chicken. We asked to have it remade with crispy chicken. Again it came out with grilled chicken. By then I was done eating. The manager came over perplexed. We tried to explain the issue but she said the waitress said you ordered the grilled chicken. We literally said "I would like the crispy fried chicken " she said ""would you like us the make you a wrap with crispy chicken?" It was the most awkward conversation. We left. read more

3.5 stars. Bland. I've now eaten here three times, and it's just not for me. I did not like the burger, the pizza, or the chicken tenders. The fries (natural cut) were so-so. My friends LOVE this restaurant. They love the nachos, the salad, and the wings. I'd rather eat just about anywhere else. The good stuff: The staff is always attentive. It's nice inside, but still casual inside. The service is quick. More positives: Everything was edible. The restaurant was clean. My friends and family all love the restaurant. The bad stuff: Extremely bland. The natural-cut fries are so-so. They are fine, but just mediocre fries, nothing special, but not bad. I don't like a lot of toppings or junk on my food--and the actual food at this restaurantt is very, very bland. The pizza is tasteless. The sauce is neither sweet nor spicy. It is just generic marinara. The crust is crisp enough, but it has no flavor either. It's just so lacking in taste. How do you make pizza taste like nothing? Beef? Okay, but not great. I order my burger plain. I did not like the beef patty taste. Without sauces or veggies to dress it up, the burger tasted like a JTM frozen patty. Most people would be fine with it. I do not care for either the taste or texture of the patty. The chicken tenders were the worst thing I ordered. So. bland and flavorless, I would not serve them to a toddler. They looked okay. Tasted like frozen kid fingers from the grocery aisle. Without six pounds of toppings, the meat/pizza itself at the Blind Squirrel is not memorable. Friends love it here. I think my friends love it because they love the toppings and the 'extras'. In particular, they like the nachos and one of the salads. This place is fine for a free work event lunch or your friends insist, but this is not a restaurant to be excited about. It's so-so. read more

Came in from out of town from Alabama visiting family. I'm literally appalled at how we were treated. When carded to buy alcohol they stated they had to take our IDs to verify them. The MANAGER then came back and bent our license IN HALF saying they were fake, and the entire table was denied alcohol! My spouse has a Florida license added with a veteran ID, while mine is an Alabama ID. Both denied purchasing a beer for "fake IDs" While I'm 30 years old with my 12 yr old son eating with us. When asked how they check IDs they say they bend them & if they bend in half that means they're fake.. I guess the hologram on your license is useless af here. Needless to say, if you have an out of state license you can't drink here, nor can anyone else at the table. Terrible service, especially coming from a manager! read more

We love coming to the Blind Squirrel to watch bands and bands but management,,, please train your bartenders. Every time we come drinks are different. How hard is it to make a mule,,, and it's different the second time,,, way different. Every time we come disappointed on the drinks. Very easy to train on a solid drink. Please do this we enjoy coming but the inconsistency is terrible. read more

We are one of two tables in here. Had to go ask another server for a beer. Then food arrived. Onion rings are burnt. Server never came back to table. Had to go to hostess stand to ask for our server. Then another server came over and said she didn't know where she was but wanted to know what we needed. Had to ask for Diet Coke refill and A1 sauce. I very well doubt we will ever be back. Went there to watch college football yet they are playing music instead so loud can't enjoy any of the games. This is our first time having an experience at this establishment. We heard some good things about it, so my wife and I decided to stop by around lunchtime today. There was no wait or line, and we were seated promptly. We did not see a server at our table for about 12 minutes, noticing the server in our area told another employee to finally wait on us. My wife ordered a water and I ordered a sweet tea, and a shareable boneless BBQ wing appetizer. The water tasted like it was dirty dish water, and we noticed other guests complaining about the condition of the water. The sweet tea was okay. After waiting another 15 minutes, a third employee brought out the appetizer, a microwaved batch of subpar chicken chunks with dirty, repugnant celery sticks drooping off the side of the wire basket. After 35 minutes we were still waiting to see a server to take our lunch order, which never happened. When we finally saw a server we told her we were finished with whatever we were given and wanted the check, because we were not going to continue our experience any further. The fastest service was when we received the bill and the server came back in 15 seconds to take our payment. We will never go back to this establishment again. read more

This was one of the best first time restaurant visits I've had in a long time. The type of seating available could accommodate every taste. I was extremely comfortable with the seating, but I was also extremely comfortable with the staff, the food presentation, and the atmosphere. My wife ordered fish and chips and was very happy that the batter was obviously homemade and seasoned perfectly. I tried hers and was just as satisfied as she was. I had a pulled pork sandwich and found that it was just about more than I could eat. It was delicious. Our server, Savannah was also very attentive and personable . I would certainly ask for her on our next visit, which we are already planning. I was also very happy to find that there was an abundance of outdoor seating and that they have live music. So everyone loves seems to love this place. Here's my first and last experience there. The wife and I ordered our beers and the pretzels and beer cheese. The beer cheese was different, not "bad" but different. Not bad. Now the beer. I has a Pacifico and the wife had her usual Mich Ultra. Both beers, stale, flat and nasty! HEY! You gotta clean those taps garbage bros!!! No one likes stale nasty beer. On to the food, the wife had the BLT, in her opinion too much bacon. Probably didn't help that it was soggy, greasy, half cooked bacon. She couldn't eat it. I had the cheesesteak sandwich. This thing. This thing needs renamed. It's a black pepper cheesesteak sandwich with extra black pepper on it. The taste, well it's like this, open your mouth and have a friend grind pepper directly into your mouth. The reason behind this was to hide the absolutely CHEAP nasty steak they use in this sandwich. The sides for our sandwiches, the wife had the "twisted fries" these were thick cut super bland fries. I had the onion rings. Folks, these are frozen onion rings, pretty the generic type you get from the grocery store down the street. Not deep fried, oven baked. The whole meal was just nasty. And the service? Waiter ran off and we had to wait 30 minutes just to get the check. I dunno man, this place, is like the little Rumpke brats were sitting around in Drakes up in Florence one night drunk saying "we can do this man!! All we need is some of daddy's money!!!" The place is trash, which since it's owned by the trash bros, I guess kinda figures. Do yourself a favor and just drive up to Houston Road and go to Drakes and not this cheap garbage knock off. Met a friend here the first time for lunch. The staff greeted me upon stepping into the door. They were in point. My buddy and I sat at the bar and the bartender came up and took our orders right off. Still impressing me. I ordered a cheese pizza with goetta. It was a shocking item for topping for restaurants in Lexington. If you spot it on a menu and eat meat....get it. And you are welcome. Lol The place was nicely lit and super clean. Went for dinner on a Monday night, so it wasn't too busy. We stood at the host stand for a bit before a server came over and rudely took us to a high top. Our actual server was nice, but he was also working the bar, so it was hard for him to serve both areas and we waited quite a while at times. Super frustrating since the other female servers were snap chatting and looking through social media off to the side when it was obvious we needed some help or were ready to order. Food was decent, but nothing special. I ordered the bbq chicken wrap with the twister fries and my mom got the fish tacos. The fries were over seasoned and the server didn't know what kind of fish was on the tacos. Not worth the long wait. read more

This place has potential. The interior is very cool, and I bet it's festive when there is live music on the stage. We went on a Tuesday night, 6:30, 3 adults and 2 tweens. We waited about 30 min for a table. They have a neat lounge area by the bar you can wait in with a drink. But you can't have any food there. So it seems like a wasted space. Even if someone is sitting there with drinks listening to the band they might want a snack! Once we got a table the service was pretty good. They are busy and the servers hustle. Our food order took a long time and was a little messed up, but we didn't say anything because the kids were starving and we didn't want to wait longer. Food is fairly standard bar food and is pretty good. Not the best, but good. Overall, if this wasn't so close to my daughters home I don't think we would return. Maybe after another year when they get things ironed out. Wishing them the best, as Union doesn't have a lot of options like this! read more

We were in the area for a few days and ran across this place. While there was a wait, it was worth it! Our server was super nice and our food was fresh! We were just a little disappointed when they didn't have the appetizer we wanted. It was a little loud but that is expected when they were so packed. Will post an update when I get back a second time because I failed to get pictures but wanted to go ahead and write a review because we had a great lunch here. First off, the restaurant is quite large with plenty of seating and pretty decor. In warmer weather it looks like they'll have a great patio area and garage doors that open on the side for that indoor/outdoor feel. Our service was friendly and quick during lunch time. I ordered the nacho appetizer as my meal which could have fed a small army. Had to take it home with me after barely putting a dent in it and they literally gave me a medium size tin foil tray with a lid, that's how big it is! I was intrigued by how good the pizza looked that one of my nephews got so I will try that next time. My mom enjoyed her Kentucky hot brown. We definitely plan on going back and it's a nice addition to the area! read more

There was a family seated directly next to me, and they had a small beautiful baby with them. The baby was being passed between the 3 of them . I struck up small conversations with them .
