So I searched "hair salons open on Sundays," and I stumbled upon Touch of Beauty Salon because of the reviews & rating. Pam answered the phone and told me that the salon was getting remodeled so it was closed on Sunday. However, she called me back a few minutes later, and said that she was able to do my mom's hair in the morning after making some arrangements and talking to the owner. I thought that was so considerate of her! During my mom's hair appointment, my mom told me that she could tell that Pam really cares about her clients because she gives great hair advice and wants what is best for them. My mom's hair is thinning a little, so Pam gave her a few layers to add more volume and she also suggested some hair products that she should use to help recover her damaged hair from boxed hair dye. She was also kind enough to curl my mom's hair for the wedding! My mom's hair looked gorgeous that day & night. I totally recommend Pam, 100%! My mom cannot wait until her next tough up appointment. :)

After a lot of "Yelp Review" searching, I came across all the wonderful reviews about Patty...and am so happy that I did! She does require a consultation appt first (which initially caught me off-guard since none of my SF stylists ever did that, but it did already make me like her more) - where she took close look at my hair's current (and AWFUL blonde/orange/white/black) situation, took pictures and provided me with several options with next steps. I immediately felt at ease with her and was excited to schedule an appointment. When my appt day finally came, I was so excited and was ready for Patty to SAVE ME from my hair...and boy did she! She really listened & paid attention to what I wanted, was so sweet & sympathetic to how upset I was about my hair and really gave it the TLC it had been missing for so long! I 100% trust her because she definitely is THE EXPERT...and these "before & after" pics prove it!! I'm so happy I found her - thank you Patty!!

I recently dyed my hair back to dark after being copper, but I also hadn't had a professional haircut in probably 2-3 years. Needless to say, my hair was looking dull, boring, and desperately needed some life put back into it. I happened to be in the Walnut Creek area, got on Yelp, started looking around, and that's how I found Painted Mane. I called to ask about pricing for a haircut and whether there was any chance they could take me the same day, and I was blessed with Olivia. From the moment I arrived, Olivia was so warm and welcoming. She was also very transparent about her experience and the level she's currently at, which honestly didn't bother me at all. If anything, she seemed genuinely excited to work with my hair because it hadn't been cut in so long and was basically a fresh canvas. I told her I wanted layers and a little bit of a bang, and she also recommended doing a black gloss over my hair, which I agreed to. BEST decision. First of all, Olivia's head massages are out of this world. I would literally pay this woman just to wash my hair and scrub my scalp. But the HAIR. My hair looked AMAZING when I left her chair. It was shiny, glossy, soft, smelled incredible, and had so much life again. I was genuinely in love with it. She also recommended a few products based on my hair, and my hair has been LOVING them. Olivia, thank you for being such an amazing hairdresser and for making me feel so comfortable trusting you with something I'm very particular about. I'm honestly so happy to have found you and excited to have this new hairdresser/client relationship because it is so hard for me to trust anyone with my hair. My entire experience was wonderful, and everyone at Painted Mane was incredibly sweet and welcoming as well. 10/10, no notes. See you soon, Olivia!

Her salon is very clean, comfortable and cute. Since she has the salon to herself, I found it to be a very peaceful atmosphere compared to other salons that have many hairdressers and a lot of commotion. I came to Julia for a trim and curtain bangs. I let her know that my wedding is coming up very soon and didn't want too much hair taken off to leave more options for my styling and she did such a great job of dusting off my ends and leaving me with my length. She also gave me tips as to how to style my curtain bangs especially since I haven't rocked bangs since I was an undergrad. Julia gives great hair advice and is a friendly and sweet person. If you're looking for a haircut and a comfortable atmosphere, I suggest you check out Glamour Cuts!

I came a little late because of a meeting, but Julia was so sweet and still accommodated me but never made me feel like she was rushing through my hair. I asked for long layers with a U cut, and face framing bangs. Multiple people have commented on my haircut, and I'm so happy with my decision!

TL;DR she is the best hairstylist I've ever had and is worth the price…read more Earlier this year, I was looking for a new hairstylist to give me a different style of hair. I had rocked a mullet (picture Mick Jagger) for a while and became tired of how high maintenance it was, how hot it made my head feel, and the longer length in general. Conversely, I became quite attached to my hair and knew that if someone were to change it, they'd have to do a great job. I had been going to a male barber for a while, but wanted to let a woman work on me to get a different perspective. Executive Haircut by Monica is the solution. I found Monica by reading about hairstylists in my area (WC; East Bay). Aside from great reviews, I got a good feel for her to trim off all my precious hair. When I walked in, I was greeted by Monica, who lead me into her salon. It's a small and cozy corner in the Phenix Salon Suite, and lowkey feels like entering another world separate from the busy WC main road. I would describe Monica as socially intelligent, funny, friendly, and unique. She's a good conversationalist, making you feel comfortable to open up about yourself. I can tell she has a lot of life experience, and she often offers advice/wisdom to me as a younger, 20-something man just trying to navigate life. I also enjoy how she remembers details about you; every time I go, it's like our conversations resume where they left off. The first time I was there, she could tell I was quite nervous, and we discussed what I had in mind. I showed her some photos of some general ideas; she told me to trust her, which I did (reluctantly). Snip, snip, snip, and away my mullet went. She has a very calming presence, and while she effortlessly did her work, we got to know each other. Monica has the uncanny superpower to know what will look amazing on you based on your head shape and demeanor ("vibe" as some people say). Often, as a man, I don't know what will look good on me, especially in a dating and professional context. My friends and family, while well-intentioned, don't have the insight to tell me what is good or bad looking. Monica cuts right to the chase (pun intended lol) and will get you looking you best, and you should trust her judgement especially if you're a lost guy looking for a hairstyle that looks good on you. After receiving a hot towel, scalp massage, neck massage, and other forms of grooming (all worth it by the way), you come out feeling like a new man. She's an expert in making you feel supreme. I was not used to have shorter, textured hair, but Monica assured me it looks great. I looked in the mirror and smiled, because I agreed. The results started to speak for themselves. I received compliments for the first time in my entire life about my haircut. Feeling invisible around women at times, I noticed that women I'd pass on the street would smile at me and even compliment me on my hair. Coworkers, friends, and strangers all seemed to like the new haircut Monica came up with for me. I'm still working on dating and other life milestones, but the positive feedback I received definitely helped me with my confidence and sense of masculinity. Monica is a great hairstylist who is easily worth her price tag. I'd go to her if you want results in your dating or professional life, or just want to look your best in general. After three amazing haircuts by her, I can earnestly state that she is consistent and does a stellar job each time. Check her out!
