I really don't understand how this place is still open. I'm sorry but the food was served so fast that you could tell it was microwaved. I had a Rueben sandwich it was so rubbery I had trouble biting it. My husband had breakfast. His eggs were so dry like they were reheated from earlier in the morning and not made fresh. This is a man that could eat anything and he took one bit of his hash browns and pushed them away and said let's get out of here. Never again lesson learned. read more

I've been to some pretty bad diners before, but B.L.D.'s is bar far the worst. The French Toast was old, and either under a food warmer, or they microwaved it. They don't even have real butter, they give you a little cup of lard with your French Toast. The bacon was terrible. The meat itself was alright, but the grease had a funky taste. The French Onion soup was the worst I've ever had. I don't expect good French Onion Soup from diners, but this was hardly edible. They use garlic croutons and they put curry in it. AWFUL! The eggs were super shiny. Eggs should not be shiny. Last, but not least, my Diet Coke was flat. One star is justified for the service. It was quick, and the waitress was friendly and polite. My first time here was nothing special. Ordered a specialty burger and it was good but slightly over done. I ordered medium and it was closer to well. The waitress was friendly but the place was busy and she seemed a little unaware of the menu when she was asked questions. Maybe a little frazzled from the large crowd in the place. The decor was a tribute to the troops. That was different and refreshing than most places around here. All in all not a terrible experience but not a great one. I am shocked at all the negative reviews for BLD's. I think it is a cute little place, and have been going there for 5 years or so now. Their omelettes are KILLER. They are perfect everytime. Never runny. Almost every weekend morning is packed with patrons. The service is wonderful. The staff is very nice and friendly and accommodating. I have NEVER ordered a breakfast I didn't like. It's just like you would make at home. They are constantly refilling your coffee. It's a nice and friendly family owned business. If you don't like quaint and small and cozy, then go down the street and be a NUMBER at IHOP and eat pre-made packaged food. read more

I was recently there and very impressed with their food and service. Don't understand the negative reviews. Had breakfast, one of their omelets and it was great. At least twice the size of IHOP and two dollars less. The hash browns that came with it were also a good size. The service was right where it should be, very attentive, with the waitress having no problem explaining the menu. The hostess was welcoming and very nice both when entering and leaving the restaurant. I will be going back and update this review as necessary. read more

Love this place. I go there with my wife on Saturday mornings and they have great breakfast. Swedish pancakes are amazing. I've had scramblers before, and this was no scrambler! More like a messy omelet with canned mushrooms. Ugh! Service was spotty-server brought our water, then disappeared for a few minutes before coming back with the coffee. Meanwhile other servers were pouring coffee for their tables. only had breakfast at bld's, and i find it somewhat difficult to rate - definitely a step up from ihop or friendly's, but also a major step down from a good diner or a truly 5 star breakfast spot like JT's...the employees were all very friendly, coffee was fresh & refilled regularly, and the menu had a wide assortments of all the usual breakfast fare...ordered what they called their "Jaime" omelette, which was advertised as bacon broccoli spinach & feta cheese...why they didn't tell me there were going to be hash browns in there too i don't know but they're really not my thing & i found this a little unappealing, eating around them made it a bit better though...my mom had the greek omelette (spinach, tomato, feta) and seemed to enjoy that...breakfast for two at $20 i can't complain that much but i don't know that i'd go out of my way to stop at this place again read more

This place is adorable. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is good for what you are paying for. One thing I must say is the portions are big! If you finish a dinner meal here then you are a pro eater. The wraps are good and the French fries are great with honey mustard. If you get a pasta dibs just prepare to take it home with you. One tip for anyone going for dinner- as for some garlic cheese bread. It is not on the menu and is a small charge for a bit of heaven. It's delish. read more

I have no idea why they don't have more stars. The exterior of the restaurant belies the warmth of atmosphere you find inside. The people who work there are friendly and helpful and the food, both in selection and quality, is just wonderful! I should also add that I have Celiac disease, and have not had a Belgian waffle in years. Their Gluten Free Belgian waffles are AMAZING. Simply AMAZING! The staff is knowledgeable about cross-contamination and I am happy to report that, after eating here 5 times (in the past 2 weeks!!) I have had NO ILL EFFECTS OR REACTIONS!! A final note, many places that claim to have GF options just slap whatever you order in or on a gf bun or bread or wrap. There is nothing else done to it. I often feel like it's an after thought, and although I am always grateful to places that have the accommodations in place it still makes me feel a little envious of the other diners. Here, they provide extra attentions, like grilling the GF bread for the sandwiches and actually MAKING the batter and Belgian waffles FRESH! These are NOT frozen waffles, or if they are then I am flabbergasted! And even the milkshakes are fabulous! Topped off with whipped cream, sprinkles and cherry! Just lovely!! :) read more

I have been passing by this place for years and my daughter and I decided to stop here after a trip into the city. The prices were about average for a diner type of restaurant. I ordered a meal, but the only extra was the potatoes, no salad, soup or even a vegetable. Usually when I go to other places, that would be included. The waitress was friendly enough, but never checked on us to see how our meal was or to even refill our drinks . She just stopped by later to give us the check. It was not crowded on this evening either. I don't think I would go back. The food was OK, but not anything I would go back for. I really expect a bit more when I go out to eat.
