There were 7 of us in our party on Saturday (no one else was in the store while we were). By the time it got to one of the last ladies, the lady named Bella was rolling her eyes and not being very friendly when my friend requested only a little bit of pizza cheese. Another lady I believe named Nicole (the trainee) apologized profusely to us at the cash register for the way we were treated. All that aside, the speed of our orders was great, everyone was happy with their pizza. The location was clean and had lots places to sit. It would have been nice if Bella came by to apologize for the misunderstanding or her frustration over whatever caused her to be so upset about one of us not wanting a lot of mozzarella on her pizza, this did not happen. I'm taking away one star for the poor service from the manager Bella. I can understand that fast food can be frustrating, but we were all very kind and easy to deal with. read more

Service was a bit slower as we went right at noon so we hit the noon rush. Staff are very efficient so even if you only have an hour for lunch this place works great. Love the create your own as they have so many great toppings. Baked fresh so crust and flavor are always good. Filled in their survey so got a free dessert this trip. Thin crust pizza is cleanse friendly, right?? Me and the wife both being hungry, wanted something quick but not the typical fast food places, so we decided to hit up blaze. Service was reasonable, and they weren't very busy so I'm sure that helped. The wife downloaded the rewards app so we would get a free dessert (smores cookie) which they honored. I hadn't tried Blaze but my sister is a big fan so we met friends. It was a Sunday night and the place wasn't packed when we arrived but it filled up quickly with customers taking orders to go and eat in. The concept is great as you can customize your pizza with such a wide variety of toppings. I like that I can ask for less cheese but more of my favourite toppings. You can get just about anything if you're a meat only fan to a veggie only pizza. The meat toppings aren't as varied ass they don't have donair meat for example. We paid and got cups to help ourselves to water. It took a few minutes before that called our names and asked if we wanted any sauce on top. I wasn't sure if the crust would hold up all the toppings but it wasn't floppy or soggy for a thinner crust. The serving size is big and I ate half of mine and then got a box to take the other half to go. The price was reasonable as I expected to pay more than $15 but it was less. My fam loves Blaze! We love how we can customize our own pizza, the vast selection of unlimited toppings, the firing of the pizza right in front of your eyes, and how fast it all happens is awesome! The only recent complaint we have is that the price continues to go up. The pizza used to be an amazing deal at only $10 and change per build your own pizza. Now it's gone up to $14+. Blown away by the boutique quality cheeses and toppings included in 1 price! Gluten free options for +$4 or high-rise crust for +$2! My faves were the sauteed onions, sauteed zucchinis, kalamata olives, sausage meatballs, artichoke hearts, and apple wood bacon atop a pesto basil sauce with goat cheese and arugula after cooking atop! I got to sample a few other pizzas in my group of 6 from work plus the hubs and kiddo joined us! The spicy marinara sauce was beautiful! The restaurant is quite big, beautifully laid out, and has HUGE washrooms with get this - a change table for kiddos in both the men's washroom and the ladies'! I also had a chat with the owner about the gluten free options - they have mats to make them on, it's own press, it's own set of tools, and the pizza makers will put on fresh gloves and follow you through the line to ensure your gluten free pizza stays gluten free. As always, there is the possibility of a little cross contamination but I was really impressed! The pizzas cook in about 180 seconds depending on which one you make and all the pizzas are 1 size! Love this place, I love pizza and will practically eat it from anywhere! This is the best place and would definitely come back except it is so far from me! But I heard there are new locations opening up next year, yay! Not too many fast food, build your own pizza places in Edmonton but this one is so good. They do have about 5 pre-made selections but make your own, it's way more fun! We had the thin crust which was crispy and the toppings did not fall off. I really loaded mine up since I was amazed at all the choices, it was one of the hardest decision I had to make! There were four sauce choices, tomato, spicy, pesto and cream. A few different cheeses, feta was excellent! Meat choices included pepperoni, ham, turkey meatball, Italian meatball, spicy sausage and applewood bacon. This bacon was thick and so delicious. Veggies...so much to choose from, I loaded mine up with spinach, mushrooms, banana peppers, green peppers, cherry tomatoes even basil to get my daily veggie quota in! You can have as much toppings as you want...it was crazy! The pizza is cooked in the fire oven and once done, you can add a drizzle of sauce over the top and/or add some arugula! They don't just have great pizza choices, there are different kinds of salad, s'mores for dessert and their help yourself drink area offers more than pop. So this is not your typical pizza joint. The staff is upbeat, fun, friendly and really knowledgeable. The service is really quite fast for pizza, it's literally the assembly line procedure & fire roasting that makes it so fast. I had a make your own pizza which is amazing because you tell them exactly what you want on your pizza. And then they cook it right there in front of you. The drinks are great too, I really liked the agua fresca, refreshing and not too sweet. And the prices are really reasonable for fresh pizza, the dough is even made in house! You can choose from any combination of their endless toppings with no additional charges. I am more of a traditionalist when it comes to pizza. I ordered the Red Vine and it was perfect. Delicious, wood fired, thin crust, fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced. Blaze also offers salads and smores for dessert!! If you're good at math, you can count the calories that go into your pizza pie. I personally like to avoid these calculations but it's a nice touch. I also really appreciate their attention to environmental sustainability. Plant based drink cups and pizza boxes made from recycled materials. Blaze is very forward thinking. Superb pizza place! Both times we have been to blaze we have had great experiences. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and helpful- making this such a great spot. They really help to create a stellar environment and give this place a real personal touch feeling. The venue is super new and everything looks really well kept. Lots of parking in the area. The menu is really diverse and I think the best part is that you can put as many toppings on your pizza as you want without incurring extra charges for each additional one. They do have their signature pizzas but don't be afraid to ask for something off that you don't like or added that you do. My personal favourite is a low crust cheese pizza with the garlic pesto spread on the crust. Get the white sauce, mozzarella cheese, half blue cheese, half feta and finish it off with maybe a little bacon and oregano. Don't forget the array of finishes - on this one I put a bit of ranch. But they also have arugula, BBQ sauce, balsamic glaze and more. Excited to continue to recommend this awesome pizza place to family and friends. read more

I've been here a few times for it's convenient location on Manning, just off the Anthony henday. I've had no issues parking here, keep in mind, there are currently no other tenants (parking competition) within that building. Decor is modern & well lit, there's a background of the cityscape on the entrance wall. It's immaculately clean too. This place is child friendly with high chairs and boosters available near the beverage fountains. What makes that beverage area unique is that they also have a better selection of non carbonated drinks with unique flavors. Pizzas are entirely customizable from sauces to toppings and you can also do 50/50 toppings if you're in the mood for 2 different kinds of pizza on one pie. There's also a set signature pizza selection if you're not into choosing specific toppings. Be forewarned that it's thin crust pizza, so one pizza can feed 1 adult like a meal (plus toddler if you're not too hungry). A good thing is that each menu item has the calorie count listed beside it, so if you are watching your intake that's a nice feature. The pizzas cook pretty quickly and crusts are come out nice as crispy too. I also love how cookies, brownies & s'mores ($3 each) can also be warmed by the oven while waiting for your pizza. There's also salad options too. Staff have been consistently cheerful, friendly & helpful. Wait times have not been long for me either. Was pretty excited to eat here especially learning they had gluten and dairy free options. As soon as my order was taken the lady helping me made a rude comment about having to make a gluten free pizza. Due to MORE work she would have to do. I disliked her poor attitude and it continued throughout the whole prep. I liked the many choices of toppings and same was unlimited. I chose chicken, pineapple, bacon and banana peppers with pesto garlic sauce and vegan cheese. The seating area was nice. However, we chose to sit near the entrance and you cannot hear the pizza baker call your name if your pizza is ready. The place is already noisy with music and echo. I had to look over all the time. The pizza itself was not that great tasting. the gluten free pizza was thin, SALTY and crunchy. It was like eating a chip with all those toppings. i did not enjoy it as much. On top of that an average pizza not GF or DF was 10-12$ thats how much my friend paid with a drink. My GF and DF pizza ended up being 17$ with a bottle of water. BRUTAL. I would recommend LOVE PIZZA downtown than Blaze. I get quality service and quality pizza for a great price 12$ average. read more

Excellent tasting pizza and very cool concept for a fast food pizza joint. I call it fast food because they fire it very quickly and you have your pizza within a few minutes of walking into the store (if it isn't insanely busy). I chose the BYOP (Build Your Own Pizza) route and went with the regular crust, spicy red sauce, Italian sausage, pepperoni, applewood bacon, red onion, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, grated mozza and goat's cheese. Being able to add as many toppings as you want for the same price is a great idea. It lets you get creative without any constraints. My other half had a gluten free pizza and I am sure she will review her experience there so watch out for a GF review! For drinks I had a fountain pop and she had a lemonade. Apparently the lemonaid was really good so I may try that next time. Another cool thing is that they list the calories for each item. So if you want to count your calories they make it easy even if you do the BYOP. Kudos to Blaze for bringing a great unqiue pizza concept to Edmonton. Now get one on the southside! This is way too far for us to drive to on a regular basis (but we may just do that). read more

Wow! There are not many pizza places that let you slap as many toppings as you want on a pie for one low price, but this is one of them. They make the dough every day in house, and you can watch them press it flat on a hydraulic machine right before your eyes. If the edge doesn't pass muster, they press you a new one. We are pizza fiends, what can I say, and we went back twice in two days. It was that good. Shawn had the BBQ chicken, and really liked that it was sauce free, with just a BBQ drizzle on top as a finisher. We both find that some BBQ pizzas have a sauce that so overwhelms, the rest of the pizza is lost in the process. I didn't try this one myself, as it has blue cheese on it which I just can't stomach, but he liked it (blue cheese, chicken, red onion, shredded mozza, and BBQ sauce drizzle). While solid on it's own, he chose to add caramelized onions and bacon next time, and said it was just the punch he wanted. I made my own, and hit pizza nirvana on the first go. Red sauce, pepperoni, smoked bacon, caramelized onion, soft and shredded mozza, and finished with a pesto drizzle; it's my perfect pie. I was making Cookie Monster type noises eating it, I kid you not. Pesto drizzle is truly a pizza miracle. I loved being able to see the pizza being put together in front of me, watch it baking in the oven, and knowing exactly what was happening, start to finish. The crust is great thing crust: it's crispy, and you have to do a bit of a fold-over when you eat it, but it didn't sog up on us at all like you get with pizza from Famoso. I think that the cornmeal on the bottom really helped that. My leftovers (the one total slice we have over two days), were also great cold, and that so rarely happens with a true wood fired thin crust. They have gluten free options, and a thicker crust available, for extra money (I believe it's $4 and $2, respectively, but don't quote me on that.) Seating is a cross between four seater tables, and communal, but that's never been a problem for us. I really hope they can maintain the quality and level of service we've received, because I am always down for delicious, well made, well priced pizza. read more

Aside from your typical pop and water they have this great lemonades. Their Prickly Pear Aqua Fresca is especially good. Not too sweet, perfect to wash down their delicious pizzas. For anyone with food allergies, vegan, vegatarin ect, Do not trust this place! They have on their website that vegan options include non-meat sausage and a variety of vegetables. But I was in there yesterday and I have never seen cross contamination so bad! (And I've worked in restaurants for 20 plus years) They dont use any sort of untensil or lids for thier toppings and if they do the use the tongs to put in in thier glove that they then dip into other toppings and the people that make your pizza dip use the same gloves going done the line from cheese to meat to vegetables contaminating everything. There was bacon floating around in the basil water, cheese in vegetables and when I talked to the manager he said the only thing they claim to be vegan is the non meat sausage, The tongs sitting in that were covered with cheese. On both their website and when I called they claimed to have vegan pizza. This place is disgusting and the manager doesn't seem to care at all. If you care about cross contamination, take your money elsewhere.. trust me. read more

The beauty of it all is that it's subway style pizza and you can pick as many unlimited toppings as you want (I don't think that's explicitly promoted). The pizza was so good and so filling, I could only eat half. Perfect for a date or get a couple of pizzas for a family of 4! The only downside I noted was the salads tasted a little off. Finally! Something the Northside has that the Southside doesn't! I love how cheap it is ($11.99) for a build your own pizza. First, you get to pick your own crust (high rise and gluten free are an additonal charge), but I highly recommend their regular thin crust, because it's oh so good and crispy without being greasy. Then, you get to pick your sauce (pesto, regular red, spicy red, or white). From there on, the sky is the limit. You have a wide selection of cheeses (they even have vegan cheese!), meats and veggies. Good news: they don't skimp on the toppings either. And if you want, say, double the cheese, all you have to do is ask, and they will make it happen!! For those that are health conscious, they list the calories for each item. Your pizza is then popped into a flaming oven for a quick 3 minutes. Afterwards, you are then allowed to select its final touches from sauces (ranch, buffalo or balsamic) or perhaps even a generous dollop of arugula. For those who don't want to customize their own toppings, there is a selection of "standardized" pizzas available, but you can still tweak those a bit to your liking too. They have a good selection of drinks too, it's not just the usual coke or root beer. They have blood orange lemonade, and a couple different types of agua fresca. They also have a few different types of salads and if you're craving something sweet after your meal, a "s'more pie". I also love how upbeat the staff are. First time, ordered the bbq chicken, they don't usually put sauce on this one so that was my first red flag (always trust your first instincts, I didn't), anyways 10 minute trip home and already cold as something this thin doesn't hold heat. Decided to try this recently, as a pretty big pizza craving hit and this place had great reviews. And it did not disappoint! The pizza was phenomenal. $11.50 (I think) got you a pizza with whatever toppings you wanted... and the options were endless. The ricotta was probably my favorite (added such a nice creaminess), followed by the turkey meatballs. The only things sort of missing were some fior de lait or proscuitto, but I definitely wasn't unsatisfied with the choices that there were. The crust was a bit crispier than I normally like, but it had a great taste. I'm curious if the extra-thick ($2 more) would be a bit chewier. Also of note are the drink options - your fountain drink includes a couple lemon-aid and agua fresca options. And wowza - both the Blood Orange Lemon-aid and Prickly Pear Agua Fresca were to die for! I'd go back just to grab a drink out and about. The only thing I didn't love? The S'more's dessert - it was nicely heated and a great concept, but the cracker was all kinds of wrong. This pizza is so good I love it! It is well worth the price, anywhere from $8-$15. They have delicious ingredients and I love the topping sauces! The service is quick enough for a pizza and the staff are friendly. It is a little busy so we like to take our pizza to go. My only complaint is how cheap they are with the cheese, although alternatively my waistline is happy they don't over do it. It is my husbands favourite western pizza.
