We walked by this place a couple of times and it looked ok. For our last night in Prague we decided to drop in here and have some traditional Czech food, for dinner. There are about three places on this street that look good and, one of them (Blue Duckling) was fully booked so we ended up here. The menu is a meat lovers delight. There is plenty of choice from small portion to huge portions of meat and, a few other veggie bits thrown in, for good measure. As I discovered tonight, traditional Czech food has a lot of meat, potatoes, dumplings and cabbage. To start with however, I had the pickled fish. If pickled fish is not your thing don't order it ;-)) I love pickled fish and I loved this stater. It was delicious :-)) for main I had the Prague special plate, which came with pork, leg of rabbit and a lamb chop with grilled potatoes and cabbage. The meat was super tender but the sauce, was not so flavorful. The staff here are very quick and friendly and speak good English. They were very quick with the meals and for 650 Krones we had dinner for two with drinks included. A great deal for decent food. I would come back here, if I was hankering for Czech food. It's a nice place, that is relatively quiet and, on a quiet street.

We enjoyed our meal here a lot.this is a good place to try czezk cuisine. The czezk menu had nice explanations in other languages. We tried the pickled cheese. It was good. It had some seasoning but didn't really seem pickled like I was expecting which was probably a good thing. It tasted good and came with nice veggies. They have us bread with oil and vinegar. Our Balkan salad was good. Fresh vegetables and lettuces with cheese on top. Cannot go wrong there. Czezk food can be heavy so we wanted some vegetables. My pasta was seasoned well and flavorful. It was chicken with mushroom and parmesan. I enjoyed it a lot but didn't eat it all since we decided to save room for apple strudel. The strudel was good and made a nice bite with the sauce and powdered sugar. Czeck food might not be my new passion but I would eat here again. The food was good. Service was nice. Food and beverages came out quickly.

Price/quality is very reasonable. The place feels kinda touristic. But we did not mind. We had some traditional dishes plus a starter and we were full. Service was fast and friendly.

Smoked honey pork ribs! 600 grams! Delicious!!

If you are looking for a very lively place that seats about thirteen hundred guests per day and has twelve tanks of beer, and the beer hall vibe then this spot is most certainly for you. Close to the Old Town square it is not at all touristy, the service is good and the prices are very fair for what you get. K ordered the Goulash, and I had the Chicken Schnitzel along with a beetroot salad to share. The food was plentiful and very good, especially the goulash gravy which was a deep colour that had amazing flavour. The schnitzel was not as big as the plate, but I couldn't finish it. K had a glass of wine and I a beer for about $64 CDN, which is good in Prague. Our only quibble was that the beetroot salad turned into a cabbage salad with horseradish. It was also good, but not what we ordered. We would most certainly come back and endure the half hour wait to experience and enjoy what is a somewhat unique European offering.

It has a cafeteria look and feel to it as the space is long and slender with wooden tables lining the one side and a few tables lining the other. It is devoid of color and sparsely decorated so it adds to this depressing feeling. Our server was ambivalent toward us and didn't visit us after we got our food. We had to watch for him to run by to stop him for our bill. This didn't give very welcoming vibes. The food was not exceptional. It was good and filling but I could not wrap my head around what everyone raved about. Perhaps we went in with too high of expectations but I've checked it off the list and will opt for other places to try in the future.
