    Duck

This place was perfect and just what we needed after a long day of exploring the city! It's located near the busy areas but just enough outside the hustle and bustle that it's much cheaper than other places. The food was incredible! We had beef cheeks, goulash, and duck, and we finished it all! You get a free basket of bread with your meal as well. Highly recommend! Cheap food and drinks that taste great! Didn't need a reservation.

We walked by this place a couple of times and it looked ok. For our last night in Prague we decided to drop in here and have some traditional Czech food, for dinner. There are about three places on this street that look good and, one of them (Blue Duckling) was fully booked so we ended up here. The menu is a meat lovers delight. There is plenty of choice from small portion to huge portions of meat and, a few other veggie bits thrown in, for good measure. As I discovered tonight, traditional Czech food has a lot of meat, potatoes, dumplings and cabbage. To start with however, I had the pickled fish. If pickled fish is not your thing don't order it ;-)) I love pickled fish and I loved this stater. It was delicious :-)) for main I had the Prague special plate, which came with pork, leg of rabbit and a lamb chop with grilled potatoes and cabbage. The meat was super tender but the sauce, was not so flavorful. The staff here are very quick and friendly and speak good English. They were very quick with the meals and for 650 Krones we had dinner for two with drinks included. A great deal for decent food. I would come back here, if I was hankering for Czech food. It's a nice place, that is relatively quiet and, on a quiet street.

We enjoyed our meal here a lot.this is a good place to try czezk cuisine. The czezk menu had nice explanations in other languages. We tried the pickled cheese. It was good. It had some seasoning but didn't really seem pickled like I was expecting which was probably a good thing. It tasted good and came with nice veggies. They have us bread with oil and vinegar. Our Balkan salad was good. Fresh vegetables and lettuces with cheese on top. Cannot go wrong there. Czezk food can be heavy so we wanted some vegetables. My pasta was seasoned well and flavorful. It was chicken with mushroom and parmesan. I enjoyed it a lot but didn't eat it all since we decided to save room for apple strudel. The strudel was good and made a nice bite with the sauce and powdered sugar. Czeck food might not be my new passion but I would eat here again. The food was good. Service was nice. Food and beverages came out quickly.

Price/quality is very reasonable. The place feels kinda touristic. But we did not mind. We had some traditional dishes plus a starter and we were full. Service was fast and friendly.

We ordered the beef cheeks, which were served cold (likely as intended but not what I was expecting). Flavor was fine but not great. The burger was also just okay. For something so standard, it was passable but not likely to order again. Our favorite dishes were 1) the duck and 2) potato and vegetable patties. Duck was crispy, hot, and had pretty good flavor! The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend since it was just average.

We are early diners and the only couple near us were also Americans on holiday. Our server spoke excellent English and guided us through the menu choices. Nonetheless, I entered and hope for an escape from the unforgiving sun on that day. The staff seated me at one of the booths and after I requested some information explaining the menu and what's popular, they were more than happy to assist. They even explained some local etiquette and so on which was perfect for a visitor like myself. I decided to try out their Pickled Cheese as an appetizer. The cheese, paired with the onion salad and bagel was great. I really didn't know if I was eating it correctly but still delicious. For the main course, my waiter recommended a Schnitzel with potato salad. Just to get it out of the way, but the potato salad was almost better than anything I've had in the United States. I thought we were doing it right until I spent one day in Prague. The Schnitzel was also delicious. Perfect with the salad, the provided a blend of flavor and substance I desperately needed. All in all, this place was a great experience in Prague. The staff could not have been anymore nicer as I left with an itinerary on what to do during my time in Prague. The food and service were great. Don't be fooled by the location and stop by if you're in Old Square.

Although the menu did not have the official name, I opted for The Cut (aka Šnyt), which is more foam than beer. For dinner, I went with the Veal & Cheese Rissole. The breading provided plenty of flavor to the veal & pork combo. The mashed potato had a very creamy texture. Unfortunately, the cucumber salad was the least favorite of the three. The shredded cucumber was akin to sauerkraut being drowned in water. I regretfully passed on the dessert. From my vantage point, I could not see anyone ordering dessert. I hadn't made a reservation but being a singleton at an early evening hour, the staff found me a table quickly. I started by ordering an alcohol-free beer and then I perused the menu. Marek, the waiter, soon came to my aide and helped me pick out a hearty portion: dumplings, of course! For dessert, I also had another set of dumplings and I loved both dishes.
