I was walking by and happened to see the place, so I stopped in. I immediately saw a red flag as there were 3 restaurants in one building and it looked like they shared the same kitchen. I'm always weary of these places because most people can't maximize a food's taste while supporting another business. I also didn't smell a single thing cooking when I went inside which really threw me off me off because Asian and Soul food spots you should be able to smell a mile away. No one was inside so I thought it might've just been a slow day. Worried, I asked the cashier if the owner was actually Black, Asian, or Blasian and not a white owner, like other businesses(en su Boca). He said it is owned by a Black owner. I asked if they enjoyed the food at the location. The cashier said yeah, he loved the food even before working there. I asked for his recommendation to gauge his tastes he said, he usually does the Mac n cheese and general tso. I love general tso but wanted something different as I just had some yesterday. I ordered the Thai chili chicken and mac n cheese bowl. I waited about 15-ish minutes and it was piping hot when it came out!! Though I do note, I didn't hear anything while being cooked despite it being an open layout to the kitchen. I could smell the Thai smell through the bag, however it didn't smell like the usual Thai chicken I'd expect. Smelled almost like Americanized Thai sauce and not actual Thai seasonings. While it looked amazing it certainly left a lot to be desired. It's better than a lot of places in the city but when you know true soul food cuisine, and true Asian cuisine this isn't going to cut it. And sadly I won't be going here again any time soon. As for the high price wasn't worth it. Also didn't order a lemonade drink like I had wanted based on something telling me not to. While waiting I saw the owner's wife bring in gallons of Publix lemonade. So that seems to be the base for all their drinks and frankly Publix lemonade is disgusting so I'm glad I didn't get it. It's not hard nor expensive to make lemonade from scratch and freezing it to preserve it for later usage. I love supporting black businesses and other people of color but I hate paying for mediocre food. And unfortunately I don't go back to any spots that charge high prices for mediocre food. I hope they improve but I won't be going back. But if you're one who doesn't care for flavor or spice then this is perfect for you!!! read more
