One of the friendliest bars in the area. The service and food is great and the bartenders are always making the best drinks and they offer a wide variety of craft drinks. It is also a great place to hang out with friends to play darts, bags, and perform karaoke. At night they bring out DJ Matt and he keeps the crowd entertained. Not only is the Blarney Stone still our first choice for Friday afternoon drinks (see original review), but it has become a great central meeting locale for our spread-out-across-the-Chicagoland-area friends. Friends from the far south burbs, NWI, and the north side all want to converge for a night of low-key drinks? The Blarney Stone more than fits the bill. The ever expanding beer menu--we're talking sixty bottled varieties including Dogfish Head and Three Floyds--and the seating area next to a roaring fire have lent to some fine (and long) winter nights spent catching up with friends. No matter if we arrive in a small group of three or roll in with a crowd twenty or so deep; the staff at The Blarney Stone is always on their game. And it is appreciated. Great staff! Wide open area great for large parties, good parking available, lots of televisions, and the food was particularly exquisite! Blarney Stone has a beer garden with cornholing setup, so that's a big plus right there. The crowd was mixed on the Wednesday night I visited. I accidentally mixed in with a group who had just attended a wake. They were all wearing ties, like me, so a server told me my friends were all outside. They weren't, but I made new friends: firefighter, reporter, unemployed bean-bag tosser. The downer was the amount of bros at the bar, including one who asked me if I was selling things because I had a satchel and a tie. No, dickhead, I'm a journalist who really likes gadgets. Anyway, drinks weren't cheap, but they weren't expensive. Smithwick's was $4 a pint; 312 was $3.25. The bar had some nice, big TVs, and the servers were reasonably cute. Only one bartender was working, but she seemed to be fast. I was never kept waiting more than a few minutes. Another perk is plenty of parking, and you can buy beers buy the bucket. Overall, Blarney Stone felt a lot like an Arizona bar with more interesting, talkative people in an overized space - a far cry from the cramped, tough pubs inside city limits. read more

Mike aka "Mouth" was bartending which is always a treat the guy is hilarious and is one of the best bartenders around. The beer was cold, company was good, music wasn't to loud, and sports were on the TV= Good Time. This place has really good Pizza if you get a chance. I personally try to avoid it on Fri or Sat nights because it tends to be a younger crowd and gets overcrowded. read more

I really like this place. On Thursday nights, they do Bingo & Karaoke. We started going with another group and had never been here before. And so far, the food has always been hot and awesome. The drinks aren't weak. The place is always kept orderly and clean. Even on days when the place is really busy, the waiters / waitresses come up to you pretty frequently for new drinks and to see if you need anything. Today, the bar tender even went above and beyond to look for a specific liquor for me to make a mix drink I had asked for. She didn't have to do that and could've just stuck with the "we don't have that routine." I will continue coming here for the good music, drinks and great service. read more

Not my favorite place by any means because there seems to be a lot of townie type people that hang out here. The type that want you to look at them cock eyed so they can start a fight. One big bonus though is that they seem to be trying to get more into craft beers. The put three huge chalk boards up and wrote all that they had to offer. They had numerous Three Floyds choices (even on tap), Dogfish, and even Founders from Grand Rapids. So maybe if you wanted to go out early to eat and drink some beers this wouldn't be a bad option. Really good pizza,(Garlic Crisp is my favorite).Servers are nice and they run great buffet and drink specials during the week. On weekends service tends to be a little slower due to bigger crowds. read more

I am never sure if I like Blarney Stone. My previous post explains my issues with the bartenders turning down my friends music selections. Came back here last friday after a date. We went to the Blackhawks game and after the game, was pretty hungry after all the beer we drank. Stopped here for food. Not the best idea when on a date on a Friday night. The place was crowded with a younger group of people drinking. Should have picked somewhere else. Food was good and we made it right before the kitchen closed. I still think this place kind of sucks and would rather go somewhere else for drinks with friends (though I dislike Papa T's even more) read more

Not at all impressed. The menu is sparse and over-priced. The staff is very fond of their regulars, but not so interested if you are not a familiar face. They boast about like 30 beers on tap, but they are mostly flat because no one drinks them and the one you get has probably sat in the lines for a few days. The clientele when I was there, were all drinking Miller Lite bottles or domestic pitchers. It is a shot and a beer joint trying to masquerade as a brew pub. The are called the very Irish Blarney Stone and call themselves a craft beer pub, but if you want to order a Black and Tan, they charge you for TWO beers and make you pour them together yourself. We Still enjoy the overall experience every time we come. They are in the process of redoing their entire menu. From what I saw, I am really excited to try the new items. Its all about fresh and local! The band that was there on Tuesday 9-10-13 was very good. They took requests and even made some funny jokes. My boyfriend and I will continue going to the Blarney Stone! They are organizing many events, such as dinner pairings with beers, and other beer tasting events. If you have time free time, join one of their many leagues like doge-ball and softball. Its good to see some friendly faces that greet you with a smile when you walk in. We had a family get-together here on Friday, Dec. 29th - and it was great! We had about 40 people in the back room venue. We kept it simple, ordering pizzas for the group, cash bar. The server who took care of us was Katie. She was phenomonal!! Everyone was taken care of, she seemed go be everywhere at once, and she was easy to find when someone needed something. The only thing that prevents a 5 star review is they tell people that they DO NOT take reservations. When I get there, they have 6 tables reserved!!! The bright spots are 1. When Sean & Charlie play. 2. The servers Carly & Diana. 3. The Beer!!! 4. The food. 5. The crowd. 6. The ambiance. Anytime after 730 on a weekend, this is NOT the place to come to have a quiet conversation. This place get loud!!! I went in on a wednesday afternoon they weren't very busy. I sat right at the bar then waited 10 minutes for the bartender to finish her conversation with some friends even though she seen me sit down. once I ordered my beer witch took another 5 minutes or so to get while she was talking to the same people I had to ask her for a food menu 4 times. It was my first time there and I won't be back I didnt get her name till I got the check which I had to ask for multiple times so I dont reccomend going in if Kim is the bartender just go to another bar read more

On of my favorite watering holes. Nothing can mimick the south side and a pub like this place. It is not a hole in the wall and is a nice establishment. Big TV's, a fire place, and a beer graden. The beer selection is great and so is the pizza, much better than typical "bar food", infact I can say they have the best pizza I have ever eaten in a bar. While the atmosphere is nice it does tend to get bro'ed out at times, but isn't that pretty much everywhere you go nowadays? My only complaint is that they should get some better bands to gig there, but none the less it's still my watering hole and I hold it dear to me. read more

I happened to be driving down Cicero this afternoon and stopped by The Blarney Stone just to see if I could get a Diet Coke for the road. I was worried they would be annoyed at the request but Kim (the manager who was also working the bar) was incredibly nice...not only did she humor me, she wouldn't even allow me to pay for the coke. Only disappointment this place has given me is limited amount of 3 Floyds Gumball on tap. Seems like everyone likes it on the Southside. Tried the Buffalo Bleu Cheeseburger with Tots and some jalapeño mayo on the side , and Smalltown RootBeer which was Excellent. Staff was very well trained on the different types of beer. Were regulars and Our bartender was fabulous however the food took almost an hour to get to us, I ordered the corn beef dinner which was sloppily thrown onto the plate with no care but it tasted very good. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parm dinner and it came out burnt, fried which chicken parm is not suppose to be. Suppose to be baked. With no melted parm on top and elbow noodles which in the description said it was suppose to be fettuccini noodles and they were plain with nothing on them. We are relatively new to Oak Forest, having lived here just a little over a year, after spending nearly 30 years in Rogers Park. We searched and searched to find a decent pizza in the Oak Forest area with no luck until a friend recommended Blarney Stone, stating it was the best pizza in the area. He was absolutely correct, as my wife and I love their pizza. We've been ordering the pizza almost every Monday for months and never once have we gotten a bad one. Always perfect. Tonight, we decided to try some other food for a change. My wife got a rueben and I got a cheese burger and both were prepared exactly as we specified and were absolutely fantastic. Now, you might think, OK a cheese burger is not a big deal, anyone can get that right. Au contraire! I won't mention any place by name, but if you know the area use your imagination to figure it out, because the other restaurants, all in a few blocks radius to Blarney Stone can't make a decent cheese burger and I've been served some absolute disasters. Even the way they package the food shows they take pride in preparing and present excellent quality food. Too many people, including me, are so quick to complain when something goes wrong, but I can't express enough how impressed I am with the quality of the food and caliber of the staff at Blarney Stone. Great pizza, awesome burgers and live music frequenting Saturday's (year round) and Sundays (summertime). Gamenights with #TRINGO on mondays and Bingo on Thursdays. The bartenders are attentive and nice and the servers are quick. Great place to watch a hawks game with drinking buddies or take the whole family out to dinner. I will NEVER go back here... my waitress was absolutely awful. She took forever to come by and would forget about my friends and I quite often. The food was bland and the "hot" wings are ridiculous. When I told her I didn't think the sauce was right she gave me such attitude and fought with me, that I was wrong. She could've handled the situation way better. After that she slammed my beer and and said 'HERE!' -um what? Thanks. We had to ask for the check 3x before the girl she was training stepped it up. She was far better than that sad teacher. Okay, at the risk of sounding old, I'm going to say it: this is your average "OMGZ! I just turned 21!!!!1111" kinda place. If I were to go there right this second, I can guarantee I'd see at least five people from my graduating class (high school) and the rest would probably be in the early twenties bracket. Having a conversation on the weekend at this place is virtually impossible. Service is great but a little dicey when they're busy. My advice? Our stop started out a little rough. Parking was difficult, and when we arrived it was PACKED. 8pm on a Saturday with lots of sports going on...not surprising. There was a party taking up the entire back area, so we squeezed into two spots at the bar. We were greeted with, "What do you want, girls." Lovely. We kindly requested menus and received one that was tossed our way. Ten minutes later, I set a time limit: if we weren't helped in six more minutes we were outta there. We were, and everything was fine from there on out, but it was a hard start to this place. I digress. Moving forward, it was great. I ordered a grilled chicken wrap and was more than pleasantly surprised. Instead of a big piece of chicken, it was finely diced and proportionate to the other ingredients (not all lettuce or tomato). Avocado and avocado mayo, bacon...it was delicious. And, instead of it being in a cold wrap it was clearly pressed in a pan, so the wrap was crispy and flavorful. The seasoned fries are NOT like Cajun fries - they have lots of herbs on them. Very different, but flavorful and good. My friend got the steak wrap and she loved it as well! We wrapped up with the Root Beer Cider on tap. It was very sweet and I couldn't have more than just one, but it was great and well-priced. I got married at a craft brewery and like to believe I know my stuff, but there were a lot of breweries represented here that I hadn't previously heard of. I couldn't even finish my dinner, so leftovers, dinner and a drink set me back $15. It's a hike from me, but I'd definitely return (after a vodka tasting from down the road at Mid-Oak Distillery)! read more

Was here for the St Baldricks event. Decent bar with all the standard offerings. Drinks are good and average price. Pizza was not bad, the chicken wings were not a big hit. The best part about The Blarney Stone is the garlic cheese crisp. It's amazing. Totally worth getting in take out and/or delivery form. The Stone has a good selection of brews, too. You're not just going to find two or three domestics on tap here, you get a lot of choice. However, going into the Blarney Stone is something I try to avoid. It's not a horrible place but there are much better spots to stop. It's loud and always loaded with either a bunch of 21 year olds or a bunch of 50 year olds and not much in between. They make a decent pizza but again, take out is your friend. Or else come with Excedrin and know that you're going to be pretty much the only person there in your age bracket. Ever. read more

They have great pizza and a wide selection of craft beers. For a bar, the food is great but most times I have been there I have had the worst service. One time I was there I spent over $100 with the day bartender and tipped her accordingly as she was leaving for the day. I opened a second tab with the night bartender. I rang my tab up to be about $20 and stepped outside to make a call for a moment. The bartender had a barback follow me out and he accused me of trying to walk on my tab. I've been to Blarney Stone several times. All decent experiences except for last night. Last night hopefully was an exception as it was the night of the Oak Forest Pub Crawl. This place was jammed packed at 8pm which is unusual this early for BS. I've never seen so many drunk "kids" who could barely walk. There was beer spilled all over the floor which was black and very sticky. Good thing I didn't wear an expensive pair of heels. I will be torching the shoes I did wear. As for the bathroom condition....it was scarier than a Stephen King movie. Seriously, vomit all over the sink in the ladies bathroom, not to mention the condition of the stalls. Let's just say, Mr. Hanky, the Christmas Poo made an early visit here. The Health Dept. would have had a field day. I hope Blarney Stone cleans up their act as it's not a bad place to go on a regular night or weekend. But stay away the night of the pub crawl. read more

Yum, yum yum!! After a long session of getting a tattoo in Oak Forest, my friend and I wandered over here for dinner. What a good choice we made. It was on a Sunday night during the Bear's game, but we were able to find a table right away. Our waitress, Molly, was really attentive and sweet. the menu was quite expansive--I found about 13 things that I wanted to try! However, I finally settled on the taco pizza, and my friend got the pepperoni. The only reason I didn't give this place 5/5 stars is the pizza took a very long time to come out. On their menu, they say that the wait for deep dish pizza is about 45 minutes, but we waited about that same time for our thin crust. Strange! But anyway, during the long wait, Molly was offering refills, asking if we needed anything, and was overall a great waitress. She was really on her game. my Taco pizza was SO delicious. The "sauce" was salsa which was a nice change from marinara. And the rest of the ingredients melded together quite nicely. Plus, it was HUGE!! And I got the "small"!! Gross drink, politely asked to replace it with a higher priced drink, I was unaware of the price difference, but I was hoping to get it in lieu of the horrible excuse for a vodka/oj, but was told "well you ordered it", (the vodka/oj) so I had to also pay for a suspiciously tomatoe-y Bloody Mary. Seriously? Didn't want to start a fight, all the precious regulars were staring, trying to enjoy my day out. So I paid for it. There were parties going on, I would have been mortified if someone at my party was given a drink like that and treated like I was.
