Went there on a Wednesday night 8pm. Ambiance: It's called Fatties Bar, if you want ambiance try somewhere else. If you want a solid Southside bar with great beer prices and decent standby food choices, then you came to the right place. The staff did a terrific job decorating for the holidays. Best I have seen this holiday season. Points for that. Trivia/events: Wednesday had trivia listed and it turned out to be Bingo instead which was fine because my brain hurt anyway from working that day. The host was a nice guy with a quirky and fun personality who ran it solidly. Prizes were $10 food and drink gift cards that could be used on a different day and free shots from the bar that you could get that same night. It was free and for fun. The patrons booed the winners which was fun. The service: Our server was friendly and attentive and the staff seemed to be seasoned and solid. Free popcorn: Yes there was. Rarely see this at bars anymore. My wife appreciated this greatly. Bar/Food The beer was cold and the chicken tenders were bready and tasty. The food will not likely set your world on fire but the prices are very good for food and beverages. Overall: A few apps to share and and a beverage will set you back less than $20 each. A horrendous and awful Dive Bar filled with many loud middle-aged older drunks and bikers. This bar was a cringe Worthy experience and the people who hang around here apparently never have a limit on what they can drink the food that I saw the people he looked very greasy and among the stereotypical one would expect a food in a bar. There was plenty of people smoking right at the outside part that infiltrated the bar and it was like the old days in Illinois where all these bars had smokers and you can smell it other people smoke into your lungs and on your clothes for the next few days read more

This is my local hangout live right down the way recently moved near here. It's not what you expect at all for a corner bar that looks hidden. The food is great. They handmade everything. its not frozen bags of crap food like other places. I would suggest this place if you like a good relaxing hangout, like good food, cold beer and other drinks. The combo platter was VERY GOOD! Everything was so crispy and hot! It came with onion rings, jalapeño poppers, mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, and chicken tenders! For starters, my friends and I have been coming to Fattie's for a while. It's BEEN great until last night. A group of 7 of us stopped here for some drinks after dinner for my brother's 24th birthday. I'd like to think we're a very respectful group of people. The Blackhawks game was on and my friend was wearing a Blackhawks beanie - it's also pretty chilly outside, very appropriate attire for this! Anyway, he was asked to take his beanie off because it's the "owner's orders." Now, I have met the owner a few times - he has even bought my friends and I shots before! This guy confronting us was just the "messenger" apparently, he said these exact words, "guys aren't allowed to wear beanies in here the owner doesn't like it. But I mean, girls can wear those 'Love your Melon' beanies." It is simply appalling to me that it is 2018 and we are still very much so facing gender discrimination and sexism. This disgusted all of us and we will never ever be back to this establishment. read more

Had a great time at Fatties Pub the other day when WGN radio and Goose Island were there. The beer garden was nice and the inside bar is pretty big. Had a pizza puff that was cooked perfectly and the staff and bartenders were friendly and attentive. Scott, the Goose Island rep, was a lot of fun and had great swag from Goose Island if you beat him in a game of connect 4. There were lots of tvs for watching sports and the prices were decent. I will be back to watch sports, play bags and sample more food. read more

Stopped in Fatties tonight to catch some of the Bears game. They had a drink special on Makers Mark Manhattan's for $6.50, so I had two while there. When I got the check, it was $19.00. I asked the server why the bill was so much and she says "there is an extra $2.00 charge for ice per drink." What? I have to pay $4.00 for a couple of ice cubes in my drinks? Wanted to sub onion rings for the other person and got a full price appetizer instead. The kicker was the 4.00 soft drink and the 4.00 refill charge- 8 bucks for soda, 9.50 for side of onion rings. Great place! Highly recommended for catching a Hawks game - but show early to get a seat! This place is totally remodeled after the last bar (Tonino's /Nick's) closed down. Big open high ceilings with a very nice bartop & lots of high tops & regular tables for eating/drinking. Waitresses are stellar here with prompt attentive service. Drink specials are decent; depending on what your poison is. As a continuation of the old Fat Sam's up on 159th & LaGrange, they did a great job with this space! Tons of flat screens and still have the little dance floor available at this place like the old locale. Wonderful selection of beers as well as some craft/IPA selections, free popcorn and what really keeps me coming back is the pizza they're now serving!!! It has a crispy, "cracker-like" crust and is just damn good. So if you're looking for a beer and pizza. Give this local watering hole a try. I bet you'll be glad you did! read more

To be honest I never met so many waitstaff that didn't have a clue. We had a waitress that didn't know how much a bucket of beer cost and then thought if we mixed them up it was more money? Came here yesterday for guys night out and to check out the Cubs game. People are actually well behaved, most of the people are regulars. There's games and seating outside which is pretty neat. Security is laid back, bartenders/servers are the best. Music provided by the DJ was awful! read more

Yah know better than I expected. The cheeseburger special rocked. $2 special. Cold bottled beer and warm James Beam, made for an exceptional night. Service was spot on. Bartender was nice, engaging, non lippy and non pissy. (Don't laugh....not as easy to find as you might think...). The strip mall setting seemed funky, but very clean and lots of room inside. My friends and I started coming here a couple of months ago because the place we had been going on Friday nights, stopped doing a happy hour. We were pleasantly surprised on our first visit to discover how large and clean it was inside. The strip mall is currently being updated, but at the time, it was rather run down. The food is decent and the beer and drinks are reasonably priced compared to other bars in the Orland area. They have Friday specials, which is another plus if you want to take advantage of them. Fatties is tucked away in the corner of the 'L' and is hard to spot until you get into the parking lot. There is tons of parking, the customers are well behaved, and they have a large beer garden. Along with the reasonable prices and good food, what more could you ask for? read more
