Blame Gloria is such a fun cocktail bar in Covenant Garden! The vibe, staff, upbeat music and happy hour deals are a win here. You'll have a great time at Blame Gloria. Blame Gloria has a two for one happy hour deal of their entire cocktail menu, so that's a win. And they don't skimp out on the booze when they make them. We visited and the place wasn't too busy, but had some patrons inside. The entire place is decorated with bright, colorful flowers and neon lights. I'm a fan. It goes along with the old school hip hop jams they were playing. For cocktails, I had the sticky toffee old fashioned, which was dangerously strong but the toffee was a nice, sweet addition. For my second drink, I had the eton mess, which is served in a freaking bird cage and comes with a macaron. You really can't go wrong here, friends. Yep, if you blame Yoko Ono for the band's breakup, you can certainly blame it on Gloria who led Jimi Hendrix down the path of doom... Friendly vibe great staff and who told us their one bucket list they have is to attend an " American frat party " when they were talking to my daughter who was in a Sorority during her college years! Drinks were amazing especially the Eton Mess was my favorite! Rivals that of bridges & bourbon cocktail bar! I was pleasantly surprised to come across this bar during a recent London trip. The inside is beautifully decorated and very detailed, especially all of the collages in the restrooms. I was delighted to find that the cocktails were Buy One Get One- blame Gloria (me) for that! I was disappointed that they do not sell merchandise. What a fun spot nearly hidden in a central location! Head downstairs to find a very bright and colorful bar reminiscent of Miami in the late 80s/ early 90s. I was fully expecting music from that era but it was a mix of old and new. There are two seating areas, suspect one may open for dancing later in the evening. We arrived in time for a nice surprise, happy hour! 2 for 1 drink specials from the cocktail menu from 4-7pm weekdays. Great drinks too, well made. Georgia is an amazing bartender. She really knows her stuff. I had the best off menu daiquiri I've ever had (anywhere) there was a lot of depth to my cocktail. Though simple recipe she paid great attention to detail. Sometimes I think the hardest thing is to make a simple dish/cocktail taste exceptional and Georgia's daiquiri was all that and a bag of chips. Great ambiance. Neon lights and cool decor. Comfy booths, friendly and fun atmosphere. An easy walk from Leicester Square tube. Hop and a skip away from Covent Garden. Will definitely be coming back! Apparently Gloria (the bar's namesake) was a music groupie that shared fluids with the likes of Jimmy Hendrix and everyone in Led Zepelín. She opened Blame Gloria (in the 70s?) and this was a place of much debauchery and wild parties. When I asked "Where is Gloria now? Is she still alive?" The answer was "she disappeared. Such a fun pub when in a London! The drinks were great our bartender made us a custom to order drink that tasted almost like a milk shake! Soooo delish! The music was a great mix of top 40 with some oldies thrown in which I don't 'mind at all! Honestly such a fun spot and the shots were not too bad for 6 shots of tequila about 25lbs. The only down side is that they closed relatively early, but truthfully a great time all around! One of the more creative joints in London I've been this trip. Very fun & lively decor and ambiance. The bartenders are fast and effective with a few of them having quite a good sense of humor on top of that. The cocktails are creative just like the environment they're brought up in. Try the plum sake negroni for a classic with a twist but I'd you're in for something a bit fruitier and modern I recommend the pornstar martini. Me and my friend come here after seeing some photos on Instagram. It was happy hour and in some places, happy hour drinks aren't good quality...but blame Gloria your cocktails were insane! After the place had been recommended we showed up and said hello at the door, however, the doorman's strange posture made us continue to another place without much hesitation. On a friendly hello he responded with "Do you have a question for me?" "if you show up here you must have a question for me!".
