Lovely lunch here after a drive from near Franklin on a Thursday. The food was outstanding as were the sides. We took home a couple of desserts and especially enjoyed the Dulce de leche cake. Also took home a slab of ribs as well. The employees there were beyond helpful and patient with us as we were first timers. Probably the most friendly bunch we've ever run across. We also got to meet and chat with Blake. They were across the board passionate about their food...with good reason. We look forward to a return trip in the coming weeks!

It's a drive but is definitely worth it. This is only my second visit here but I'm down for a 3rd, 4th etc. First of all such a beautiful and unique building. The history and the original interior still there which I didn't take pictures of but hey, means you should go lol. Then the food. Blakes probably has the most affordable sampler bbq platter especially with the quality of food you get. Freaking $28 for brisket, pulled pork, turkey, pork ribs, sausage link, choice of two sides, jalapeno cornbread. That is a steal!!!! (Bologna in pic I got additional a la carte )The brisket is very black pepper forward. (Not Zavala's level black pepper) Last time a year ago I thought I might be just the slice I got but 2/2 times and both home runs in my book. Turkey is wonderfully moist and smoky. The ribs bit perfectly and I love the sauce in the house sauce with it. The corn bread had this cake like moisture and texture that balanced the bits of jalapeño. Oh I'm also a sucker for what I think is a sour cream based potato salad. Helps keep the fork moving with all these fatty meats. THE BEST PIMENTO CHEESE with garlic seasoned crackers. The cheddar with the pimento peppers and whatever else magic is in there. I could eat a whole charcuterie board of this stuff. And I'm only here for the barbecue. Seeing and smelling the other food on the menu being served and taken to other tables made me drool. Oh my gosh! This place is pretty darn good! Really enjoyed the bbq here. Being from Houston I'm exposed to lots of bbq, and this place is freaking awesome! Try the deviled eggs. YUM! The Mac n Cheese. YUM! Brussels sprouts. YUM! Brisket has an amazing smoke ring. Rib was fall of the bone delish. Everything great. Do yourself a favor. Come here. Eat. Enjoy yourself. And don't forget to look at the dessert counter. In health and happiness! Cheers!

Ok, seriously, this place is wonderful! The food is made from scratch tasty, all employees appear happy to be there, and the transformation of the building is beautiful. This place is 10 of 10. Definitely put this on your to do list!

Super Friendly! But super Slow service. Bar tenders very 'la-ti-da' behind the counter. Drinks take forever to get. The food, however, is not only delicious, it is very unexpected and different for the are! Same goes for the fantastic ambiance, decor, and overall design of the whole restaurant and bar! I ordered the Smoked Cheese Dip appetizer with the seasoned crackers and for an entree the Run of the Mill (sampler platter) which came with smoked turkey slices, 1/2 link of jalapeño cheddar sausage, pulled pork, 2 slices of brisket, a fall-off-the-bone tender pork rib, fried Brussel sprouts, Mac & Cheese, and jalapeño cornbread. The Run of the Mill ran me about $26 (as of Mar '23), and is MORE than enough food for a second meal. I couldn't have sat there and ate all that if I'd wanted to after a beer or two and a large appetizer. The cheese dip appetizer is fantastic and very different, but those dang seasoned crackers are epic. You can add take-home packages of them bad boys for only $1/ea. and if you don't get some to carry with you, you're officially certifiable. Too good and wish I had more! Overall, great experience and food, just go when you have some time to kill and don't expect it to be super quick. We just hung out and enjoyed grazing and were fine, especially as the servers were so nice. Well done, Blake's!

We loved this place for some good BBQ with lots of great choices. The brisket was outstanding. The loaded sweet potato and Mac and Cheese were exceptional also. We stumbled in by accident while on a trip but we will definitely be back! We were waited on very quickly even though the restaurant was busy and our food came quickly. A very nice visit.

This is a must try! Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. I don't even know if I could pick a favorite dish. The smoked cream cheese appetizer was absolutely delicious as was the Charcuterie Board. The fried pickles were such a unique take on them with bright flavor and a great crunch. The brisket and ribs were both so tender they almost fell apart and I loved the variety of sauces. The pimento cheese is also an absolute must have and the Brussels sprouts will make you happy to eat your vegetables. The bubba Cole, the run of the mill sampler, the pork chops, the deviled eggs; all amazing! The drink specials were also tasty and reasonably priced. Dessert looked amazing but to be honest I was so full I didn't even have room to try it. The restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated. It has a great vibe for a family dinner or a date night. The service was excellent and the owner is almost always on site and such a lovely human being. I absolutely recommend giving this a try if you're in the area.

Update to prior review…read more I always enjoyed the Shack. A year ago they started having very odd hours which made it hard to purchase from them. So we stopped getting takeout there for awhile. Once I passed and saw they were open and decided to get an extra pound of smoked pork from here as well. It has changed in a drastic way. the "smoked" pork now has an ever intrusive taste of liquid smoke, to the point we threw most of it away (that is a real bad sign at my house.) Giving an update of 2 stars as I know they can do better, but alas I don't know it will change. The owner is very friendly as well. I don't thing there is really good bbq in town at this point.

Passing through and saw one review but it looked like a place to stop and try. We were here at…read more5/45 on a Friday night. Not busy but a varied menu with lots of choices for kids. They even had a bologna sandwich which they said they make and smoke their own. Food came out fast. Two thumbs up on the hotdog and French fries and the single pulled pork sandwich from the kids (ages 10/12). My daughter and I both had a pulled pork sandwich plate with coleslaw on the sandwiches and Sides of potato salad and onion rings. Her sandwich was regular sauce and mine spicy. They set the plats down so that we had each other's so we each had a bite of the other's sandwich when we noticed. That means there was a definite difference in sauce flavors with hers being more Sweet and mine spicy. We both enjoyed our meals immensely and if we lived in the area would frequent this place. We saw a couple of plates of full racks of ribs come Out as we were leaving and I had wished I had room in a cooler to bring some back to WI for my husband. As it is, the foodie he is, he decided we would incorporate this restaurant into our FL travels in December so he can try it out.
