Hands down the best personal trainer that I was lucky to find through yelp, so I'm spreading the love and sharing with others! I had been a fan of Crossfit for years, but realized I wasn't getting the total body physique I had when I lifted with a friend in college. In my numerous attempts to go back to the gym and find a trainer to kickstart my routine, I failed and couldn't find anyone that motivated me and got me the results I wanted in a 1 hour session (hence why I always went back to CrossFit). Well, I can tell you now that Blake is exactly what I've been looking for. It's only been a month, but my workouts are tough, I feel great and I already see some definition coming back. I'm a technical, quantitative person and have a decade of personal data (food and exercise log and body composition) that I use to inform my fitness strategy. On my journey I've engaged 8 different personal trainers including a professional bodybuilder, an official U.S. Olympic trainer, registered dietitians, and a sports scientist. I did my first Blake FIT Turbo Fusion Kickbox workout last Thursday and it kicked my ASS! Definitely not what I was expecting from a Kickboxing class. I started doing personal training sessions with Blake back in June and all thanks to him, I able to achieve my fitness goals! Our first session I was 200lbs (6'1") @ 25.8% body fat. Along with Blake's expert sessions, advice, and diet suggestions I was losing roughly 1% of body fat per week (2 sessions with Blake per week in the beginning down to 1 session afterward). I trained with Blake for about six months from November 2015 to end of May 2016, and he simply turned my life around. Not only he is an expert in his field, he is also a national champion, an inspiring figure and an incredible motivator. Plus, he looks amazing! and he is an all around great guy, with an incredibly positive attitude. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I consider the money I spent on my training at BlakeFIT the best money I ever spent in my life. When I went to him I was about 18 lbs overweight which on my frame is a lot, I was lumpy and sluggish after a car accident that forced me to inactivity for almost two years (see before and after photos!). In addition, I had a shoulder injury that was failing to heal after six months and was still hurting. In short, I was a wreck: no energy, I did not fit in my pants, I was short of breath, with a grayish complexion, and in physical pain. I decided to do something about it, and interviewed several personal trainers in my trendy neighborhood with trendy gyms, all with discouraging outcomes: one of them said I needed surgery for my shoulder and therefore would not train me, another one tried to convince me to first do a "hair analysis" (only $650!) to see what kind of metals I was lacking (???), a third one was a creep, and other ones either never answered or had stratospheric fees. When I met Blake, it was an instant click--one does need chemistry with the trainer, or you are going to hate the whole process! Blake immediately tested the strength in my shoulder right then and there during the intake interview, and decided that it was worthwhile trying training first, before considering surgery. I would have been happy to just work out the rest of the body without hurting the shoulder more. It turned out that with Blake encouragement, technique, easy meal plan and amazing field experience, it took me only about 3.5 months to lose 25-26 lb, regain my physical and mental energy, heal my shoulder injury, and look and feel amazing while having fun!
