When we asked about the ice cream the shop owner said they closed early because they didn't have enough help due to the local basketball team playing their game. But they opened up the ice cream shop just for us and gave us our four cups of ice cream. The soft serve ice cream definitely hit the spot but more importantly I give their service a 10/10 and will be stopping by to try their sandwiches and other goods to support their business. For entrees, we got a Nashville chicken sandwich with French fries, a Big Mac quesadilla and jerk chicken wrap. The Nashville chicken was good (VERY SPICY) but only filled up half the bun. The French fries WERE TINY AND GREASY. The quesadilla was very good but VERY SMALL. The jerk chicken was VERY GOOD but same result with the fries. The server was not very good. Every time we asked a question (drinks, tv channels, etc.) he had to go ask someone else (so may have been new). He was not attentive at all (filling drinks, asking if food was ok, bring check, picking up payment). Unfortunately due to the smaller portions and poor service we will not return. I'm glad the owner took the time to read my review, as I believe it was a very thorough and honest account of my experience. That said, I was disappointed by the response. Rather than acknowledging that some aspects of my experience were subpar, much of the response seemed to focus on explaining or justifying the issues I raised. In my opinion, strong leadership is not about making excuses when things fall short. It is about recognizing when something could have been done better, accepting constructive feedback, and using that feedback as an opportunity to improve. No business or organization is perfect, and I certainly don't expect perfection. What I do expect is a willingness to listen, take responsibility, and continually strive to provide a better experience for customers. But again since we're not coming back, I don't have to worry about it. After reading her response, I looked at some other reviews and noticed that this pattern is common.
