I called and let Al know what was going on and he told me to bring it in. The hours are not reliable since I tried coming in a few times during business hours to find out they were closed. I went over today and he tried my amp and saw that it wasn't working. He tells me he can give me $50 back towards a purchase of another amp. I questioned why I wasn't able to get the full amount I paid which was $75. He told me he was unable to. He could have it shipped out to get repaired and that would take a couple months. The new amp he had for me to purchase I would have to spend another $50 dollars on. I was so confused why he wasn't just giving me the $75 dollars that I spent towards a new amp I would purchase in his store. He told me that when things like this break you get them repaired, the store just doesn't give you a new amp. A questioned why it made sense that I spent $75 dollars on what I thought was a new amp and to find out it breaks within the first week and I, the customer, have to lose out on $25 dollars, AND have to buy another amp for an extra $50 dollars, AND at a store that just sold me a defective amp and basically said "too bad so sad". Towards the end he was yelling at me and said he wasn't doing anything at all for me and I left with my broken amp. He got very emotional and couldn't hold up his own when being questioned about the quality of his products and customer service. As I walked out I said "I heard you guys are closing?" he said "yep we are after 64 years" and I said "I can see why." To that he said "have a great day!". I go to another place for my guitar lessons and they are wonderful!! And they said they'll fix my amp.

What a cool store. As a lifetime musician, it was fascinating to see new product along with…read moreold-new stock of stuff you cannot find anymore. Guitarist will love it, Drummers will be crazy over all the stuff they have. Check them out!!!!

UPDATE: FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY...and bought out…read more SE Shires filed for bankruptcy and then was quickly gobbled up in bankruptcy court by Eastman Music - a Chinese company known for making lowish-quality student instruments. Definitely think twice before choosing to buy an instrument with this company. When large multinational corporations buy small, local businesses, the quality always goes down hill. __________________ A small company asking for a very premium price on their horns...BE CAREFUL!! This is a young company, less than 20 years in the horn making business, but they somehow feel entitled to demand a very high price for their horns. I've tried FOUR TIMES to reach someone at this company that knows anything substantial about their horns, and every time I've called, the person I needed to speak to was either not there or unavailable. They are not very forthcoming in explaining how some of their designs are innovative or better than the more well-known brands. I have always gotten nebulous answers like...our horns are more open, our tolerances are better, our horns are more consistent, our overtones are richer, etc. These are all nice explanations to sell horns, but when someone asks them to explain or show why they believe their rotor designs are better, they don't answer. They are not a very transparent company in answering a customer's questions - they even hide their prices from view online. And this lack of openness is a red flag for me, especially when they are asking over $1000 more for the same instrument made by other well--known instrument companies. Bottom line...if you are not getting the answers you need to hear or you are getting very vague answers, that should be a clear sign to keep shopping around.
