Well that was an interesting meal. I got the dinner plate with turkey and ribs. The turkey was very good. Must have been brined and smoked. The ribs were not good. Honestly the worst ribs that I have had in a long time. The Mac and cheese is creamy. The mi mi corn is good but it's more like a sloppy corn bread. The corn bread was okay, not great and not terrible. The dessert of banana pudding was jello banana pudding with vanilla wafers. Highly disappointing. Anyways, I'll not be back for a meal unfortunately. The staff is very friendly and nice so it's hard to say that but the food wasn't to my liking. read more

This was my first visit to the restaurant, we used to pick up from the trailer on the weekends. The new place is small but expanding soon, and as good as the food is they need more room. Hopefully they will use some of the added space to increase waiting/ ordering line area. When you enter you get in line to visit the cashier to order and pay and then they bring the food to your table when ready, and it didn't take long. There is a bottleneck at the cashier especially if you park on the northbound 17 side and come in right at the cashier with a line formed from the other side. The kit in the northbound 17 side is narrow, parked right off the highway, and I'd advise using the larger lot behind the building for easier access and easier exit rather than backing onto 17 to leave. I had the brisket, mac n cheese and BBQ beans ... the food was great! My favorite might actually be the BBQ beans, they were fantastic. The brisket was wonderfully cooked and tender. They have three sauces on the table; original, sweet, and spicy. I preferred the original but they were all good. The cornbread muffin is good, but it's sweet and my family has always done an unsweetened cornbread so I definitely prefer that, but if you like sweet cornbread you'll like this one. We took a slice of pecan pie to go. The filling was awesome, the crust tasted off to us. My BIL had the banana pudding and enjoyed it. We're curious about the other pies. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming and we'll certainly be returning. If you like bbq and you're passing near winter haven at all I'd recommend giving this place a shot, you'll really enjoy it. read more

Outstanding bbq filled with flavor just the right amount of smoke and seasonings. Staff is super friendly and very accommodating. Brisket and the ribs were excellent. You also have to try the smoke cabbage it's really good. I would choose the corn muffin next time I go instead of the Texas toast. Place was very clean. So I travel extensively every year for work. I eat BBQ in many states and I have what I consider to be very strict standards about the Q. In my opinion the meat should not have to be sauced to taste good. It should only enhance the flavor. I was not only impressed but actually amazed by how good this BBQ is. I ordered the 3 meat combo (Ribs, Pork and Sausage) unfortunately they had sold out of Brisket. ( It was roughly 7:00 pm on a Friday) so they were busy. The ribs literally fell off the bone, had fantastic color and flavor.. Pork was well flavored and was great on its own, but added a little sweet sauce made it out of this world good. I liked the sausage but it was only slightly spicy for my personal taste. The sides I tried were Mac n cheese and Corn casserole both were fantastic. Finally I topped it off with the peach cobbler, tasted like someone's grandma made it from scratch. OMG good! Service was 5 star especially considering how busy they were. (Thank You Kaley!) The food here is amazing. Everything we tried was great. We ordered the 1/2 chicken and pulled pork plate and tried 4 different sides. Cole slaw, bbq beans, potato salad, and corn casserole. We enjoyed everything and would highly recommend you try this place if you live BBQ like we do. This is by far the best we've had in the area. Stopped by to have lunch. We love eating here. Our first time was on the recommendation of a friend of a friend, who said we should try the BBQ baked potatoes. All it took was that first time, and we've been hooked. We eat here at least once a week. And if it's been a really bad day at work, sometimes we'll come out an extra time for some comfort food. We always leave feeling great. Dee Dee, the hostess, is always a hoot. If we aren't giving each other a hard time, I'd think something was wrong. Our waitress today, Carolyn, has already stopped by to check on us four times, and refilled my tea twice. And we'rebarely halfway through eating. That's usual from the wait staff. They keep enough waitresses active on the floor so they can be especially attentive, even when they're busy. The manager, Tiffany, came by about five minutes ago to see how everything was. She always takes a few minutes to chat with us. Love her! And I'm sure the owner, Brandon, will be by any time now to check on us. In all of our visits, he has never failed to stop by and ask about our experience. We've been here a couple of dozen times now, and the food and service have always been awesome. The level of attention we receive makes it feel like I'm eating at a friends house. They aren't staff. They're family. We can't recommend this place enough. Between the excellent food and the totally awesome staff, we feel this is the best restaurant in the Winter Haven. Hope to see you there next week! read more
