We were unsure whether to seat ourselves or not, and there was no sign saying either way. We stood there for a few minutes, and all 3 people working there ignored us. I finally went and asked if we could sit anywhere, and she said yes. The waitress who took our order was very friendly. It took awhile for her to come take our order, and we waited quite awhile for our food. But, again, they were very busy, so understandable. But, the food was hot when it came out and very good! I had the Country Bowl, and my only complaint was that it had a little too much ham, so was a little too salty. It had more meat than hashbrowns. But overall, it was pretty good. My husband had the country fried steak breakfast and said it was very good. And the portions are big! I would eat there again, and try something different next time.

It felt a bit soggy and seemed like it was missing a sauce or something to bring it together. Someone in our group had the Miner's Burger and mentioned the bottom bun was completely soggy. The kids had chicken tenders, which were very small--more appropriate for a toddler than older kids--and they were still hungry afterward. The tenders themselves weren't anything great either. Overall, we weren't entirely impressed with lunch, but perhaps their breakfast is better.

The food was outstanding, and I ended up skipping lunch because breakfast was such a hearty meal. Good stuff.

The fried chicken always seems to be the biggest hit with family and friends. It's very lightly breaded, has a nice crunch, and the meat is juicy. It's so good I don't even need to dip it in anything. The ambiance is always fun. Dogs, kids, campers, people just off their floats, and people covered in dust from riding the trails. I will warn you that the wait is never quick. This never bothers me because we always use this stop as our hangout after driving for several hours and we have usually all stopped to give the kiddos a snack so that aren't cranky and impatient. They don't serve hard alcohol and the sodas are in a can.
