***Gasp*** OH GOSH- where do I start?!…read more I recently purchased a 2002 Volvo from Superior Auto Land or as they now call it Bucks Auto Sales (conveniently they have the same number and address) from Alexander also know as Alex. Alex was a stand up guy who was honest, upfront & knowledgable about vehicles... so I thought!! Thursday 02/23/17 my friend and I came to Superior Auto Land, oh I mean Buck Auto Sales or whatever they're called. There was Alex washing a very clean 2002 Volvo. Caught my attention, so I inquired about it. Alex advised me the car was only $4000.00! I said wow, how many miles. Alex then told me the car ONLY had 74,000 miles on it and the exhaust needed to be fixed. I asked him to give me a flat price, so he said $4200.00. I gave him a deposit of $3000.00 and told him I would be back the next day with the remaining balance of $1200.00. Came Friday evening as promised- everything was a smooth transition. We went to the auto tag place across the street in the same plaza as Walmart & Home Depot- switched the title, got the new tags and we left! I thanked Alex. Upon leaving I asked Alex about the inspection stickers- he then advised me I had to get the vehicle inspected and had 10 days to do so. So me not knowing said ok! While driving down the road I noticed the odometer was not changing- immediately thought that was weird and said well let me keep driving. AND still nothing! I had a 30 min ride home and it was during that small commute home I felt burning heat on my feet. Again thought I just had to get the exhaust fixed and that why that was happening. Saturday 02/25/17 I went to a very reputable mechanic on Broad and Pike Barvarian- they know Volvos! He put the car up on the lift and showed me where the oxygen sensor was cut and how the exhaust had a crack in it. The exhaust I knew about but the oxygen sensors were news to me! The mechanic told me the sensors for Volvos are between $200-$300 per sensor and lucky me- this vehicle required 2 sensors!! Thats where all the heat was coming from. So I went and parked the car at home. Monday morning I went to my mechanic in Collingswood NJ at Pro Imports. Tim my mechanic drove the car around then came back. He hooked the obd scanner up to the control module in the car. I told him the odometer had not moved from 74,377 miles since Friday when I purchased the car. Tim then advised me it would cost $2000.00 to fix this vehicle!!! The oxygen sensors were cut, the exhaust needed to be replaced, the cluster needed to be sent out. There was NO WAY I could get this car inspected! I then went straight to Superior Auto Land or Bucks Auto Sales- whatever they prefer to be called. Told Alex all the issues this car had and gave him the list from my mechanic. He said there were no returns. Well after going back and forth Alex agreed to give me $3000 out of the $4200 I paid! I said I would be willing to eat the $200 but not $1000. So I left the car there told him I would see him in court. The next day I rented a vehicle and called Alex to tell him Would take the $3000 he offered. He stated he needed the title first. So I had the title and we scheduled a time of 1:30 pm Thursday. I tried my very best to get more money out of him but Alex unfortunately was only willing to give me $3300.00 after going back and forth. I advised him Im taking a major loss here. I pointed to the new sign he put up about there being a $1000.00 deductible when returning a car! I told him he never made me aware of that policy and that was not there Thursday, Friday or Monday. Alex claimed it was there all along but it wasn't because I remember looking up there at his business licenses. Alex had me sign a paper stating I would not take any legal action against him so I signed. My new car was waiting to be picked up from another dealership, therefore I needed my money. PLEASE TRUST ME WHEN I SAY I AM A VERY BUSY PERSON AND DO NOT HAVE TIME TO WRITE REVIEWS EVEN WHEN I WANT TO, BUT THIS HAD TO BE DOEN. ALEX SCAMS PEOPLE OUT OF MONEY. NONE OF THE CARS ON HIS LOT ARE INSPECTED BECAUSE THEY WONT PASS!!!! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME STUPID MISTAKE I DID. BY THE WAY ALEX HAS EXCELLENT REVIEWS ON CARS.COM BUT THEY COULD BE HIM OR PEOPLE HE KNOWS. THIS MAN CAN KEEP A STRAIGHT FACE WHILE LOOKING YOU IN THE EYE AN LYING TO YOU!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
