I have been wanting to go to Black Rock Coffee for some time now. Today it was raining pretty heavily so the thought of coffee was refreshing. Black Rock is known for bold, flavorful drinks served quickly in an upbeat environment. The coffee shop has a wide assortment of menu items including espresso drinks, blended chillers, cold brews, and energy style beverages. Their menu appeals to both traditional coffee drinkers and those who prefer sweeter, more indulgent offerings. According to my barista, customer favorites often are drinks like the Caramel Blondie, Irish Coffee Chiller, and iced lattes. I ordered the Caramel Blondie iced latte; it was bold, smooth, and pleasantly sweet. When I drove up, there was a wraparound car queue, thus I decided to walk into Black Rock Coffee. My barista asked me to wait for a few minutes due to the high demand at the drive through. She then took my order, which she processed in about 5 minutes. She was bubbly, friendly, and helpful with recommendations. Black Rock Coffee's interior is modern with architecturally clean lines, industrial style and bold mural wall. This truly was one of the appealing portions of the business. My latte was on the pricier side. Well. I was a little surprised. I ordered the hazelnut shaken Expresso and a bacon and egg burrito. The burrito was one of those frozen ones it seems. I think made of powdered eggs? I was expecting something better. It tasted pretty good and was warm but not sure what it's made of. I wouldn't come back for the food. The coffee was really good though. Very clean establishment (from the tables to the bathrooms). Every time I work here it's been a pleasant and comfortable experience. Today, I got the hot caramel blondie (size small). It was very good. One of the best hot coffees I've had in a while. I look forward to getting it again! Warning: it is pretty sweet, but I enjoy a sweet coffee in the middle of the day, so it didn't bother me. It might be too much in the morning though. The apple danish was okay! It got the job done, but nothing to rave about it. Overall, Black Rock has great coffee and is a good place to study or work remotely. Pulled up to the drive through speaker. Waited there for well over 5 minutes without a single word from the staff which is weird because no one was in front of me except for one car at the window. Finally someone came on and said "oh, we'll take your order at the window." Would have been nice to know that earlier. What is the point of the speaker then? I pull up to the window and order a small iced Mexican mocha. The price is way higher than what the menu said a large size would cost. Over $6 for a SMALL iced mocha. So I said never mind make it a large. That was well over $7! Insane prices to be charging for an iced coffee. The Mexican mocha was decent. Definitely not the best coffee I've ever had and not at all worth $7. Plus throw in the fact that I had to wait several minutes at the speaker before being acknowledged and told to order at the window, I don't think I'll be back. read more

My brother ( who is in college) and I went to this coffee shop as he said his friends really enjoy it and wanted to try it for himself. I was curious so tagged along and this place is really worth trying! The ambiance is really great, very cute local coffee shop vibes. They had a pretty extensive menu which was nice. I got a lavender latte with oat milk and it was great great! Super rich and tasted great. My brother got a cold brew and said it was good as well. I really want to like this place. Right location, good coffee drinks, nice staff. But every time I'm in there I remember: they play their music way too loud. Oh, we don't have any. They come out first of every Tuesday of the month. I had extra credit on my Uber account and was running errands in a rush, so I placed an order for an extra large $12 mocha and timed it perfectly for arrival. When I showed up, I waited a few minutes for them to catch up on orders while one person was cleaning a bin right in view. I was patient, even though I was the only person in line. They finally asked what I would like. I told them I had placed an order to go, but they never received the order and said it was canceled. While they were trying to locate the order, I went back into the app to reorder, and now it said their location was completely unavailable for ordering. I told them the only reason I drove 15 minutes over, instead of going to any other coffee spot around, was because of the credit, and I was actually looking forward to trying this place. They didn't offer anything for the inconvenience or waiting time and said they could ring me up normally at full price. They could have done anything (like a 25-50% discount), and I would have been fine with that. If it were my shop, that's exactly what I would have done considering it's still a profitable sale with coffee margins and we would have possibly won over a new customer. Instead, I wasted 30 minutes (round trip of driving) and ended up at Starbucks because of the time constraint. read more

Went 3 times. First time good experience what you would explained some items and I joined their frequent customer program. Second and third time worst than poor. No service employees more interested in talking with each other and did not even acknowledge I was there. In fact the second time I came in the three of them were so busy talking and having a conversation between the three of them a drive-in window I had to raise my voice and ask if I could get some help. Third time same experience, ordered my drink ask if employee need my number so I could get credit for the purchase and then he had to cancel and start again. Every time I come here I have the best customer experience. The workers are so so sweet and we always have the nicest interactions. I have been drinking coffee since I was 6 years old in the 60s and I know what good coffee is or at least what I like. The cashier is helpful and knowledgeable and my Caramel Macchiato was delicious. My Americano and my wife's drip coffee were like hot dish water. I'd hoped for better. The coffee at the 620 store seemed much better in my recollection. Hope they can improve here. read more
