Atmosphere at this place is great! It's never crowded and you can sit inside at the bar or a few high tops or outside on the patio or under a tent. A dog friendly establishment you can have your pooch inside or out on a leash. They have games to enjoy while you sip your brews and we took full advantage of the Uno set! Brews are served in plastic cups by a very friendly and proud staff. They don't have food but they don't care if you bring your own, so definitely grab some takeout and enjoy yourself!

Nice small brewery with big potential. Paul the owner/brewer and our server behind the bar tonight is a friendly and knowledgeable guy and I wish him all the best in this noble quest! Whats awesome is that breweries are now filling in the map gaps as the South Shore continues to grow its scene. Old Colony in Whitman and Crue Brew in Raynham which just opened a few days ago are next on my list and along with Shovel Town and Trillium create a nice local brew route for me when I'm back "home". I'm surprised there's only 4 reviews for Black Hat on Yelp ( 120 on Facebook ) as I understand they have been open for a couple years and the beer is damn good. Time to spread the word! Its not really out of the way too much. It's in a little warehouse type building on an industrial street off Rt 104 in Bridgewater. The 3 Bridgewater's are pretty rural old New England towns with windy 2 lane roads and laid back folks not into the new and pretty and maybe even Yelp. But I know they like beer and this brewery should do well. It will be a stop on my Beer Bus for sure as the place can still accommodate a small bus more of folks easy. It's a nice and clean space with an outdoor seating area that will be better once things cool off at night. Six or seven locals inside on this Thursday night and us. My little group of four had 2 beers each. First off its a great idea to use water from Simpson Springs in Easton rather than Bridgewater municipal water and Paul uses locally sourced ingredients. Trust me water is hugely important in the process and you want it as pure as possible. I loved the Aw Geez DIPA which wasn't overly hoppy and at 8.2% was my favorite. It went down smoothly enough that I got another. In between I had healthy samples of the Bridgewater Blonde a tasty treat that Paul says it's thier best seller. The IPA with the long name Hops, Sugar, Yeast, Magic was pleasant and potent at 6.9% and definately an AOK brew. As for the Triple and the Quad both checking in at over 10% they are both eminently drinkable however not my cup of tea but others really liked it. Thats the thing with beer and who knows what else everyone's tastes are tuned up a little differently. Thats a good thing IMO as variety is the spice of life. Wow I cant believe I made that phrase up. Variety is the spice of life. Brilliant. Keep up the good work Black Hat your on the way up.

The staff were friendly and prompt. This is a brewery with a Vietnamese flair. My husband ordered a beer and my daughter hit one of their special soda's which they both loved. I tried my daughter's cream soda and it was the best cream soda I've ever had. For food my husband had the Vietnamese steak and eggs, my daughter the chicken tenders and fries and I had the tofu pad Thai. All of our food was fresh and delicious. We would absolutely return to this brewery restaurant.

It was topped with this delicious bourbon maple dust that was to die for 5/5. We ordered the candied bacon Sriracha wings and fries for an app 5/5. I don't really like beer, so I opted for the FADED. It's a sweet and sour beer. It's light, fruity and girly. Definitely something to order if you're not into beer 4/5. We also had the Frederick & main, another light beer. Definitely refreshing in this heatwave 4/5. We got to sample the red ale... Waaaayyy too strong for me! Customer service was amazing 5/5. All in all, I LOVED this spot. They are doing big things for the Brockton community! I can't wait to come again and try more items from the menu. I heard the burgers were phenomenal!

Second Wind Brewing is a craft brewery that opened in Plymouth, Massachusetts in May 2018. It was…read morefounded by homebrewing friends J.R. Shepard, Ken Semcken, and Hans Terbush. The three partners would spend weekends together homebrewing with friends and fine-tuning their beer. Terbush became a certified beer server and Semcken and Shepard passed the exam to become certified Cicerones (the beer equivalent of a wine sommelier). Eventually, they wanted to open their own brick & mortar brewery. Second Hand's small taproom and outdoor beer garden opened on Howland Street in 2018. The popularity of their beer soon took off, and in 2020 their 3 1/2-barrel system was upgraded to a 7-barrel system. An even larger secondary taproom with a full kitchen opened down the street at 11 Main Street in December 2025. While most of the brewing operations still continue at the original Howland Street location, customers can enjoy more space and a delicious menu of food curated by Chef Stephen Coe at the Main Street location. Coe is locally famous for his Lobsta Love food trucks and nationally known for his win against celebrity chef Bobby Flay on the Food Network's "Chopped: Beat Bobby Flay."  I recently visited both of Second Wind Brewing's locations while I was in Plymouth for the day. After checking out a couple of other breweries in town, I headed for the Howland Street taproom. Things are a little smaller here, but they offer a more intimate experience. The outdoor patio seating is a nice place to kick back on a warm weather day. I pulled up a seat at the bar and enjoyed a can pour of "Cent'anni" (Italian Pilsner), followed by a draught pour of "Four the Shore" [2026] (Session New England IPA). The pilsner was crisp and refreshing while the IPA was light with nice notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Afterwards, I made a short walk down the street to the larger taproom. It was much more spacious here and there were some flatsceen TVs playing sports games. I pulled up a seat at the bar and looked over the food menu. I ordered the "Pork Belly & Mozzarella Arancini" (served with/ romesco, arugula & cheese sauce) and the "Buffalo Chicken Caesar Wrap" (Romaine Caesar dressing, blue cheese croutons) with "Sidewinder Fries". The food was excellent! I washed it down with a draught pour of "Buckshot" (Hazy IPA). verall, I had an enjoyable experience at both locations and I would definitley return to either one the next time I'm in Plymouth!

This review is for the brand-new, beautiful Main Street location of Second Wind Brewing, which is a…read moremassive leap forward from their original, production-focused spot a few blocks away. The community has watched the construction on this place for over five years, and Second Wind gave us the best possible reward: an un-fussed, un-pretentious un-official opening the day before Thanksgiving. I couldn't make it that night, but I stopped by that Friday. They were busy and buzzing. The Space: The new brew pub is gorgeous. It mixes modern, industrial elements (exposed piping, cool metal lighting) with dark, comfortable features like the stylish leather lounge seating. It manages to feel both expansive and cozy, with digital menu boards above the bar keeping the beer list clear. This is a high-end taproom designed for settling in for the night. The Beer: I started with the Known and Loved IPA (5.4% ABV), and it was exactly the sessionable, hazy delight I needed after a long holiday. Citrusy, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. It's clear that even as they manage this expansion, the quality of the beer remains top-tier. The Food (The Gossip): Now, the big question: where's the food? The official story is that they are waiting for final food service permits as they finalize their partnership with the legendary Executive Chef, Stephen Coe. However, I've been tipped off by a very reliable "insider" at the bar: Chef Coe is still on a 60-day jail sentence for the sheer brutality of the beating he administered to Bobby Flay on national television. It was apparently an assault charge disguised as a culinary competition. The pub is just buying time until he serves his sentence and can be released back into the wild to run the kitchen. In all seriousness, the future looks incredibly bright. This is already a phenomenal spot for a pint, and once Chef Coe is free and wielding his cutlery, this place will be unstoppable. Go check out the new digs and tell the staff you're sending positive energy (and a file baked into a cake) to their executive chef!

Suits me just fine as it gave me time to chat it up with the bartender. As more patrons arrived we enjoyed the friendly bar banter that ensued. The rich voice and great tunes by solo guitar player Ken Snow made the time even more enjoyable. I am a big fan of pairing music to drinking and the combination of great beers and tunes made for a 5 star experience. From the outside the space doesnt look that large but after you enter you come into a nice size and comfortable tap room with a good number of tables. The tanks and apparatus are in the back warehouse section not visible to patrons. A couple of TV's made watching the Sox game possible. I noticed a lot of breweries dont have TV's I think the cost is prohibitive and some bars say they want to promote patrons conversing like in the old days before tv. Not sure but to me a TV can fill in dead time and if there is an important event why not enjoy a brew and watch some. On the whole the beer was tasty. They had 10 beers on tap. A pretty solid if not standard line up. I started with the Hoppy Patriot and Deep End in the 2 flight sampler. Both beers are good. Then I tasted the Money Line before getting a pint to get the IPA's out of the way. It's a hazy New England brew that hits the spot. It was my favorite. One thing I noticed is that for the whole lineup the ABV's are on the lighter side if you call 7.0 for the Deep End light LOL Anyways we stayed for awhile more enjoying the music and beer and then had to head toward home with a last stop at Shovel Towns new beer garden in downtown Brockton. Not doing a review on that but its a pretty large outdoor spot with a stage and there was a reggae band playing. Decent crowd too. Great job by Shovel Town to get the beer stand there! Only open weekend nights I believe. if you find yourself in that area it's a clean safe oasis and I hope it leads to more renovations in the area.
