This corner recently got a glow up and a new wine bar. Black Flower is modern, cool and refreshing. If you are familiar with Ellicottville Winery, same owners, you will find the same wonderful wines you are familiar with. They have a nice variety of wine, something for every palette as well as a light kitchen menu. The service here so far has been superb. Every staff member I've met has been friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. To top it off they have some really cool and unique events. Including on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5-7 they offer an aperitivo. Grab a bar seat and $20 gets you a glass of wine and a pre-selected menu of light bites. It was the perfect girls night and was more food than anyone expected. It was a fun surprise to see what kept coming out of the kitchen. Super fun, different and every bite was fresh and delicious! As part of a Wine tasting club at a local winery, our wine and food pairing went perfect! Each dish was expertly paired with its perfect wine match. As I don't consume cheese, the wine connoisseur took it upon himself to find an appropriate non-dairy match for me, and did a phenomenal job with it. From the grilled portabella mushroom caponata with a Canadian Pinot Noir, to the sweet maple syrup drizzled figs with a little lemon with a local blackberry wine, or the channa masala to compliment the sweet Californian Riesling, every bite and sip was a harmonious marriage. ‍‍ The service was phenomenal and that alone makes visiting this winery worth it, a long with the educational value offered. The staff is very knowledgeable on different wines and also has that skill of disseminating the information effectively to better educate its customers. Even though we have visited a few wineries and vineyards in the US and abroad, I would take this one to be in my top 3 experiences. The tasting room is also clean and well set up. I don't go to Hamburg too often but when I do I love stopping in this winery/store. The owner is super nice and knowledgeable and has helped me pick out so many wines I loved. They have so many unique wines here and there's something for everyone. I like sweet wine and my fiance likes dry and we both found quite a few options. They offer tastings which is what I usually do to try some new wines out. The tastings are reasonably priced but it you end up buying wine, then the tasting is generally free. read more

Good variety. They use juice from all over the world so they're not limited to grapes that grow well in WNY, not that there is anything wrong with the locally grown wines here. I love this business. My best friend wanted me to go with her for a special tasting they were having. We went there this past Friday. The general public could come in and pay $10 each to pair some of their wines with Halloween candy. It was a great experience and I'm glad I came here. The employee's name is Sam. She was so helpful with any questions my friend and I had. She is just as chatty as I was, which was great. Mike Ditonto is the owner and is at the winery often to work and help. He has a great staff. I came here a few times after they opened but I haven't been to the winery in about five years. They have a much larger selection than what I was used to. I remembered the Jest Do It from when I was there last and bought it. I also purchased a bottle of Smashed, a bottle of dessert wine called Temptation, and some small wine bottle stoppers. The Temptations was sweet and perfect. I had a sample of Smashed while at the winery. It was paired with Sour Patch Kids and was so delicious!!! I joined their wine club (for free) too. I'll get invited to a few tastings a year. I'm looking forward to it. Come check out this awesome local winery. You'll love it!!! read more

Cute tasting room in the Village of Hamburg! The front is a store full of wine accessories and lots of wines with a small bar to do a tasting. The back had wine making supplies and they occasionally host wine making classes as well. When we stopped in on a snowy Saturday, we were greeted upon walking in and asked what types of wines we liked. We were given a personal tour of all their wines and picked out a few for tasting too. They have a great variety of wines, including lots of blends too!! The shop is also filled with local art, and once a month they pick a new artist to feature their work on a bottle label. Proceeds from sales of that bottle go back to the Hamburg artists. While I picked out a few semi-dry and semi-sweet whites to try, my boyfriend chose all sweets. For $4 you get 5 tastings. They also have a wine club with a lot of perks including a discount on wine releases and invites to special events. Looking forward to stopping in again soon! read more

My wife and I have been part of the wine club here for a few years now. Quarterly they will have new releases of wines and a nice event to pair food and the new wines. The customer service has always been top notch and it has a great village feel. Every now and then we will just pop in for a quick tasting and get to learn about the wines they have for selection. What a gem right in the Village of Hamburg. Came in for a wine tasting with three others and had a wonderful experience. Bill was extremely knowledgeable of the wines (they have over 40!) and took the time to ask each one of us what we favored and then did his best to give us samples of what he thought we would enjoy. Wanna learn how to make your own wine? This unassuming-but-darling little wine shop, set off a grassy roundabout just off Main Street in Hamburg, has one of the only wine supply stashes I've seen in Western New York. Everything from DIY wine kits to bags of corks is hidden in the back of Ten Thousand Vines. They've also got a classroom upstairs where they host classes to teach you how to use the stuff. The fun thing is, you'd never know it from looking at the outside or the front of the store, which may be why I'm writing this store's first review. It looks just like your standard cute suburban wine shop, complete with friendly owners. Neutral earth tones, watercolors depicting the local flora and fauna, that kind of thing. But in the back -- weird science! Granted, they've got a tasting counter and some cool bottles, so it's worth a stop for any oenophile. But it's that scrappy back room that makes me excited to go back when I have more time to ask questions, try things out, and even take a class myself! read more

Stopped here right before closing and the gentleman working was kind enough to let us start a tasting. He was patient and explained all of the different wines and history of the winery. They bottle over 30 kinds of wine in small batches. The whites were very good as was the Tapas if you like an everyday red. We kept this poor guy well after closing so appreciate his patience. Wow. Fun, fun and more fun. Swung into this funky micro-winery located in, wait for it, the middle of downtown Hamburg, NY. Yes, at first when pulling up one wonders where the hell are the vines? Speculation turns to acceptance that perhaps grapes are grown in some remote Western New York country farm with about 5 acres of land dedicated to Baco Noir, Concord, or the ever present Riesling grape varietal. Nope. These skilled winemakers bring in New and Old World classic varietals and in the upstairs part of this building have a complex winemaking room setup. And is it ever setup to succeed! You can go in and get 4 generous samples of their specialty wines for only $5. And each glass comes with an expert detailing of the sample from the winemakers themselves. Of course it is as their motto at 10K Vines is "If you don't know your wine, know your winemaker." The tasting is fun, not pretentious or overbearing, and has a enough wine in a glass you can savor instead a pittance one 'n' done sip, If you are in the Hamburg NY area, swing into this place and enjoy this micro-winery's finely tuned wines. Amazing little winery located in the Village of Hamburg. All of the wines are made in house with grapes sourced from around the world. I have been several times for tastings, and the staff is always warm, welcoming, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. I could spend hours here every time I visit talking with the staff about wine and the local community. Many of the restaurants in the area also offer Ten Thousand Vines wines! I haven't tried a wine here that I did not like. They have unique wines during the holiday season, my favorite being Santa's Rosy Cheeks! We are welcomed by a very nice lady named Ann and she is very friendly, knowleadgable of the small town and the wines that we tried. She even recommended us a coconut wine and a recipe. This place was amazing. So many different types of wines. Over 40 I believe and wide ranging. They do wine making classes there as well and the guy took us up to show us where they make the wine which was pretty cool. Most interesting part was that they don't use a single New York grape in the making of their wine despite being so close to the finger lakes wine country. read more
