I explained former contractor who we paid a deposit to disappear with our deposit and never did the…read morework. I also explained that the contractor who painted the house 2 yrs ago and charged 16k did such a bad job 40% of the house is already peeling. I told him we had 4 other estimates sun- Tues but I was available for his estimate at the end of the week. His 1 sentence reply- 4 estimates is more than you need so not interested. You'd think any REPUTABLE professional would be willing to prove they are as far from those 2 horrible contractors that stole and did horrible work but nope he made us feel like assholes for making sure we did our due diligence (plus 3 estimates were for roofing and the 4th did roofing and exterior which included the window job I was looking for him to do) When a customer has had 1 bad experience let alone 2 in a 2yr period, good contractors want to distance themselves from bad contractors and prove they are upstanding trustworthy and empathize with what you've gone through but this guy immediately made us feel like if we did move ahead he already didn't care 1 iota about us and didn't want to be bothered to put in the effort to get the job (and since I said in my project description there are at least 9 other windows that will need replacing by end of year AND the exterior needs either residing or repainting you think he would have used this to earn our business for the projects this fall) This guy doesn't value potential clients and clearly views coming out to give an estimate when there are other companies in the mix as a waste of time which to me says he knows he overcharges OR he knows his work is poor quality. My advice, don't even waste your time reaching out because he's only interested in speaking to you if there's no other competition and he's going to use that to charge top dollar and potentially do shoddy work. Learned that after the other 2 experiences these past 2 years (and my ex who is a contractor but now in AZ gave me that exact same advice when I explained the responses from this guy) He isn't registered in NH as a business owner, I searched on their website and called the state and he doesn't own or operate a legit business. I also encourage everyone to check out his reviews on thumbtack because there are a concerning number of 1 reviews. He actually did us a favor by being rude to us which made the decision not to hire very easy

I had an issue with my basement where Peniel was called into remediate the damage that was done…read more Peniel told me "they wouldn't warranty their work" if the whole grout wasn't removed under the tile in the basement since "it gets under the tile in sits in the grout". Fast forward a few days of difficult labor and issues - my floor has 70% grout left on it or so - I guess the previously done floor was over grouted - and it was tough to get up. Another day of work goes by and I ask them how things are going - one of the employee's says to me "don't worry about the rest of the grout - when they do the floors over they will use a self leveler and it will fix the issue. Me going through a ton of stuff and not being a professional in the field said "okay, you know best.:"... Come to find out my contractor said that he can use that but so much of the floor was unloved he would have spent a TON of money on cement since its in high demand - I am now paying a contractor for a job that should have been done properly and not cut corners on... Now I'm trying to get in touch with peniel and they are ghosting me. No replies to my emails with pictures and descriptions of my issue. I shouldn't have been mislead - I shouldn't be paying for something to get done twice.. Peniel is terrible and I can't believe this is the type of service someone provides when they are given almost $15,000 to remediate about 700 (give or take) Sq foot of basement. I am let down that a company that is in charge of such health and safety related items can work so poorly - I had to follow up on things that I shouldn't need to follow up on. I am going to be all over this until I get a check back for the two days of work my contractor has done - because expecting me to pay someone to do the job I paid to do is unacceptable. Dodge my emails and ill find new routes to go about this.. Ill see that this gets to the BBB as well as google, Facebook, instagram and all other relevant places. If I can save anyone else by getting screwed over by such lazy practice than this is worth it. attached are pictures of what the bathroom looks like since im having a hard time finding the prior family room pics. But I added what it looked like after massive amounts of labor and cement cost as while as grinding days of grout. Shame on you guys!! I Did the worse part of your job anyways.
