Ran off with my $3,000 deposit. It has almost been 2 months of chasing Dan for my money. A small claim has been filed. Find another company.

Crowe Fence & Deck Supply - Drive post & rail with tapered ends

Crowe Fence & Deck Supply

Stay away! This company is all about grabbing money and not upholding their end of the contract. We…read moreput in a cedar fence around a large garden. First, they ignored my design and started putting in something totally foreign to me. I even sent photos! Then, once we got that all hammered out, the tried putting in compromised posts that upon pushing them a bit, the installers admitted that several (over 6) were checked all the way through and should have never been used. Then, come to find out the estimater undercounted all the wood needed. Crowe's response was "Sorry Casey underestimated and we can't get it." Look, I understand we were in a pandemic, but I secured you before the pandemic hit and you should have been professional and planned correctly! Low and behold, I was able to locate it up in Chichester. When I told them, they told me to go get it myself. Funny how you are in the fence business and can't find wood, but I made 2 simple phone calls and could locate it. So, I went and got it and supplied more wood than they told me to get. After that, they disappeared and I had to plead with them to get back to finish the job. There were 2 arbors put in which both molded within a month of going in. I was told to purchase a product to spray on them and do it myself. Then, I was contacted with "we underestimated again we can't do your gates". WHAT?!? Now, I've supplied all designs, photos, had to chase them down to finish, and extra wood from the first screw up. Now, I have to get you MORE wood?!? Well, I do because I need my gates done. The gates are finished and installed but they don't reach the ground and after a month, they do t latch any more because they do t line up!!! The sole purpose of a fence around a veggie garden is to keep the critters out. I am a very detailed person. I had written all my requirements for the garden down. Gates that went down to the ground was written in black and white. It was stressed. It was ignored. I had also stipulated that stainless steel nails/hardware be used throughout because anything else stains cedar. I approved the screws so they are good, and I was told the gate hardware was stainless as well. They built the gates in the shop, so I didn't get to see them, however I was assured they were stainless. I paid a premium for stainless. I didn't get stainless and now my gates have black streaks all over them. So, what was Crowe's response to all this? Originally I was dealing with a man named Curtis. He said all would be fixed. He was a high point for them. He's not there anymore unfortunately. Then I spoke with Ann in billing. I sent her all the concerns via email. I was assured in writing that I would be put in to the schedule for this spring. I held up my end of the contract and stupidly paid the bill. Now, I've called and emailed 4 times and each time I'm being ignored. I've asked to speak to the owner and he's ignoring me as well. Please, please, please do yourself a favor and stay far away from these crooks and liars.

We ordered a black aluminum fence for our large pool area and just had it installed last week. We…read morechose Crowe Fence because Matt worked with us to get the exact fence we wanted, to fit exactly how we wanted it, within the price range to make it work. He gave us great suggestions and advice and now every day we get rave reviews from all who come over! It is absolutely the most beautiful fence you could imagine! Jake and Travis were absolutely the best installers- and the most hard working, conscientious, thoughtful guys you could ever imagine working for you. They even did some extra things like adding hooks, filling in our holes from the previous fence, coming back the next day when they found a small bracket that was missing...It is very unusual to have such wonderful, knowledgeable men working installing fences! Quite an unusual team- they deserve loud praise and accolades! Well done guys!

I'm not sure what name this business goes by. Their invoice says "Black Dawg of NH and Northern MA"…read morebut the sign that they left next to my driveway and in their Emails says "Shattuck Paving". Not sure if they lost their franchise with Black Dawg but the Black Dawg web site still has them listed as a legit franchise. Anyway, they Sealcoated my driveway on August 12, 2014. When I got home from work on the day this work was done I noticed some green gook on the driveway. I sent pictures Tuesday night and again on Wednesday and asked if they could identify what the gook was. I got an Email back from their secretary on the 13th stating that my pics had been sent to the "crew" and that I would hear back from them soon. So far I haven't heard from Shattuck Paving. I was fortunate that one of their competitors (Champion Paving & Sealcoating of Miford, NH) was in the area on Friday. I asked them if they knew what that gook was. They identified the gook as grease that must have oozed out of a piece of equipment as some the grease was on top of some of the crack filler and was also covered with seal coating. The only way that could happen is if the grease was deposited during the seal coating operation. Champion offered to remove it for me and re-sealcoat the two areas that had the grease deposits. I took them up on their offer since I didn't think that anyone from Shattuck Paving was going to contact me about this problem based on the lack of communication regarding this issue last week. Also, It seems that some areas were not swept up properly after applying the "black beauty" over the crack filler and some deep cracks were just left unfilled. I realize that anyone (or company) can have a bad day but the lack of communication from Shattuck Paving leads me to believe that they just don't care about their workmanship or customer satisfaction. I'm going to chalk this up to experience and I'll know better the next time my driveway needs sealing. My poor review for this job is mainly for the lack of communication and lack of attention to detail. I'll post another review in the spring if this job doesn't hold up.
