The staff at Speers were very friendly and helpful. They confirmed the pros and cons of each type of flooring and came up with solutions to my transition issues (floor to tile). I was able to borrow several samples (for free!) to help me decide what colour would work best in my space. At Pottery Barn, they charge you something crazy like $25 per tiny sample of wood. (Note: Apparently, PB refunds the $ if you return the samples in 30 days.) I had some very specific installation questions, some flooring-related and some non-flooring related. Speers Flooring was able to provide contact information for just about any job. While their prices are a little higher than others, I believe you are paying for their quality service and expertise. The sales people were very honest with me, and never pushy.

They have a huge amount of stock and the staff are very friendly and willing to help. I think they had some really great tiles but they can be quite hidden. The pricing was difficult to locate and didn't appear to be per square foot like other stores. That can make it difficult to compare pricing. Bought tiles for bathroom reno in November. Tracy was helping me. I was debating using large tiles…read morefor the shower floors vs the typical small tiles. My contractor said that he would be ok doing that only if I also ordered the Schluter Kerdi shower base system. When I asked Tracy how much more (besides the tiles) this would cost me, she only quoted me 2 of the 3 pieces required. The base (talked to my contractor to ask what size was needed) and the linear drain Cover but made no mention of the actual drain also required. Cost: $656+ tax. So, I decided to go for it. Couple of weeks ago my contractor went to pick up the piece to start the job...no drain. Had to rush order it and the Cost: $417. When I talked to Tracy today she told me the contractor would not know what exact drain to order until he broke up the floor and it was up to me and him to ensure we ordered what we needed etc. When I mentioned that she never once mentioned this to me, she said that it was back in November and she could not recall the conversations regarding this order. When I explained that had I known that the Whole shower base system was going to run me nearly 1200$ I Would have used the smaller tiles. She was unsympathetic and Refused to acknowledge that it was her quoting error and refused to cover the additional cost or even charge me for her cost of the product ie waiving profit. Not impressed at all. When I make an error, I don't make others pay for it.

We paid an extra fee for our penny tile. Our powder room is very small, 30 sqft. We paid $300 which…read moreworks out to $10/sqft to have Carmichael re-colour and seal our floor. Outrageous price but it was well worth it to have the floor looking fresh and clean again. At first glance the job looked great and we loved that the floors look brand new again, however upon closer inspection we noticed that the colour that was used left streaks and smears over our tiles (see pictures). As well when they were here, Mike plugged in his fan and it blew the outlet (see picture). After some back and forth he advised me to have an electrician look at it and he kindly offer to pay for the repair but to hold off on paying until we talked to the electrician. I called our electrician and explained what happened and he said that it sounds like it was the fan that was used. However he was out of town and referred me to his colleague. This electrician came out and only charged $50 to fix it and advised that they was nothing wrong with the plug, and the damage came from the fan that was plugged in. I explained this to Mike and he deducted $50 from our invoice which was paid immediately. He came this afternoon with Carla to fix the colour smears and smudges and proceeded to tell me that this is not from his product but rather from the original grout job. According to Mike the smears and smudges I saw was leftover grout smears over my tile. Talk about gaslighting. I clearly know what my floors looked like before they showed up. I assured him that I have scrubbed this floor for years and never have I seen these markings on the floor. He said that his grout colour product does not stick to tile, only grout and therefore it's not his product. I didn't want to argue with them as clearly I was getting nowhere and I just wanted them out of my house. They spent time fixing the floor but it looks the same, no change. I have no idea what they did today. Likely they realized that in order to fix it they would have to spend hours scraping off the colour. Mike is not taking responsibility for the poor job done, after we paid extra and had the hassle of dealing with the electrician and taking time out of our day to have the outlet replaced. The grout colour left behind on the floor is now our problem and we will have to scrape it off ourselves because they were too lazy to do it themselves. I know for certain that is NOT grout. The smears around the base of the toilet show that it was their product because when the bathroom was tiled 7 years ago, we tiled and grouted and then the installed the toilet, so I would like to know how the grout would show up like that on the tile if the toilet wasn't there (see pictures). This is clear evidence they did a sloppy job cleaning the product from off the tiles and that they will not take any responsibility to fix the job! They have amazing reviews which is why we went with them however we would not recommend for anything but simple SQAURE tiles and nothing intricate, as that is obviously out of their league. We contacted Mike last night to explain how unhappy we are and that we have a Google review ready to post. He never contacted us to make it right.
