I love the new decor in here. The black walls have a clean, restful effect. Had lunch here with a friend on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, so we could talk over an event we are planning. It was a good choice. I got the shrimp Philly with cole slaw instead of fries. I love a good shrimp sandwich, and this was really good. But I think next time I will have it with no cheese, since I prefer the flavor of shrimp without the extra dairy. The cole slaw was excellent! Tasted as if it had been just made. I am a cole slaw connoisseur; I think my own that I make at home is better than what I find at most restaurants. But the BBF Cole slaw is another story -/ good balance of sweet, tart, and salty flavored, a bit of onion but not too much, and very fresh & crisp & so so good. Way too long of a wait for a takeout sandwich. I had the Legacy Cheesesteak and the sandwich was not bad but waiting just over 35 minutes for a single takeout sandwich is a bit much. There were only two other tables waiting on food and they both looked equally irritated. The Cheesesteak is literally drenched in their gravy/sauce so prepare for a very messy meal. read more

My husband and I loved the food. Personally, if you're looking for ambiance and esthetics try another place, but if you're in it for some good satisfying food- this is it. I tried the sampler which came with two sliders, soul roll and the fries. According to another review the fries were soggy - not the case with our fries. They were delicious. Husband tried OMG philly and he loved it. Overall,the food wins over the place itself. So I tried this place before I went out of town for thanksgiving and I forgot to write a review I don't know how because the food was incredible!! Located in legacy village I went in to order the place was small but you can sit down and eat if you wanted to the ladies at the counter were nice and offered me a menu to look at they also had the menu on the wall big they have a lot of selections the sandwiches are original shrimp on a burger ? Lol never heard of it I went with the "Mr.Martin" it's a fried chicken sandwich with this sweet slaw on top I also got the creole butter fries which the lady at the counter said were her favorite. As soon as I bit into the chicken the heavens opened the chicken was juicy and the slaw put it all together and I usually don't even eat slaw the fries were alright I'll try a different type next time the creole butter just tasted regular to me but in all I will be going back for sure and I highly recommend this place read more

I got the Heights Fish sandwich with a side of veggies. It just raised the bar for a fish sandwich. The fish had a nice texture and was perfectly cooked. The seasonings were richly flavored but not overdone. The greens and tomato on the sandwich were fresh as were the side of broccoli, carrots and squash that was suggested by the staff when I asked to hold the fries. The kaiser bun was neatly arranged and the top had an appetizing shiny glaze applied. I can't get this place out of my mind and will be back often. read more

Bro, this stuff is pretty good. My mom and I went out to lunch here. At first glance, I thought the menu was kind of pricy for just a sandwich, but you get a ton of really good food for your buck. I got the chicken sandwich (the Mr. Martin), and it was fantastic! The fries that come with the order are also to die for. Everyone working here was quite nice. The chef came out to ask how our meals were, and we were pleased to tell him that we were very satisfied. I will definitely be going back here to try out the rest of the menu soon :) read more

LOVEEEEE this place. The railroader burger is definitely on my top 4 best burgers I've ever had. They always cook it a perfect medium rare. The fries are incredible. The garlic Parmesan fries actually have a load of Parmesan sprinkled on top, which I love and they still taste great reheated. It's pretty reasonably priced as well. A gourmet burger, generous portion of fries, and a can of pop for $12. Can't beat that. I'd come here everyday and never get sick of it. Ryan D.'s review has scared me! I used my debit card on Christmas Eve at the new Legacy Village location and am now panicked and will need to constantly check my activity as I have been a fraud victim in the past at Wal-Mart. I've subtracted one star for that. I subtract a second star because business owners need to know that if you put a sign in the window that says "opening summer 2017" and then you actually open in December 2017..that's false advertising. Won't even discuss what happened at Taste of Legacy...smh. We purchased the OMG and King Philly and they were both excellent. Parm fries were cold by the time we travelled three miles home. Total was about $25 which is on par with other restaurants at Legacy Village. Staff gave a vague promise of soul rolls coming to this location but were otherwise very friendly. Based on past success and excellent sandwiches I believe this location will do well and we will patronize them again. read more

I love cheesesteaks so I was excited to visit for the first time tonight. When I arrived, the was one person sitting at a table waiting for a meal and one person ahead of me in line. I placed my order and waited... 25 minutes. The kitchen put out two meals ahead of mine. Since the place was not busy, I did not think the order would take so long. I have no idea how they handle demand when they really do have a busy time. While I waited, the kitchen staff were very loudly laughing and i mean VERY loudly for a very long time. It gave me no confidence that meal prep was their priority. Another staff member delivered the next table's meals directly in a manner that bespoke of junior high antics, not restaurant table service. The food finally arrived and I took it home. After a FIVE minute drive home, i opened the styrofoam box and found stone cold, soggy, greasy fries and a lukewarm sandwich. The sandwich was also soggy with grease and inedible as a handheld sandwich so I had to knife and fork it without the bread. The meat was greasy and chewy. Without a doubt, this was the worst cheesesteak meal I have ever had and the lack of professionalism at the restaurant was appalling. I have no idea how this place has so many glowing reviews. I will never return and will advise others to skip it as well. read more

I had the Mr. Martin with grilled vegetables instead of the fries. The fried chicken breading had just the right crispness and the slaw was fresh and delicious. The grilled vegetables were perfectly cooked. My wife had the OMG Philly which was a sight to behold when we opened the box with all the tasty shrimp on the sandwich. She appreciates good bread and commented on the taste and texture of the roll. We also split a Creole Soul Roll that was filled with flavor, colors and textures. Well done! read more

I live in the neighborhood and I and my neighbors waited a while for this restaurant to open. Finally the weekend came so I was excited to try the food. I tried the Hobo for 8.50. I expected more for that price. The menu claims to have a bar-b-que sauce that is home made with agave ( a sweetener) It tastes like ketchup with sugar added. If you want to sell a sausage for 8.50, at least make a cole slaw that has fresh cabbage and fries that are crisp not soggy. This food is over hyped and over priced. I won't be going back and I feel bad that we can't get one decent eatery that features soul food. I think the quality of African American cuisine has been so degraded that people will fall for anything. Oh I can't fail to mention that I had to wait 45 minutes for this disappointment. read more
