Our son has been in the martial arts program since their doors opened and we are very pleased with how well Freedom program compares to others. Kyle puts his heart and soul into building confidence, positive attitude and respect into all aspects of his programs. The differentiator with other programs is that he spends much more time with his students in helping to build strong character and leadership qualities, and he ensures the students understand how to approach difficult situations, such as bullying. Freedom also has a fantastic fitness program which has changed our entire outlook on personal fitness. My wife and I have been taking his fitness program for almost 18 months now and we are both in the best shape of our lives. Upon opening the door and walking in everyone looked at me and my kids and immediately knew we were unknown strangers. No one screamed stranger danger. Instead we were greeted by the warmest group of people I could have ever wished I met. I knew right away I was in the right spot. Alex, the owner came over and said hi. Mario, the kids instructor, introduced himself and asked the kids if they wanted to join a class. He makes it a point to know every child's name. He remembered both my kids names the next time we went. They love him and talk about him all the time! Shoes and socks came off quicker than you could imagine and before I knew it I felt I had been going here for years. Everyone was talking to me, introducing themselves and telling me how great the place was and how much their kids love it. My kids were treated like they were regulars and had smiles from ear to ear. At the end of the class they asked me when they could come back again. The instructors make the kids class not only a learning experience but they make it so much fun for the kids they can't help but want more. Pat is friendly but yet instills discipline with the kids and most importantly, he keeps it fun. My son really enjoys the classes with Pat, he looks forward to going to class, whereas in the past with a different martial art, he dreaded and hated it. He takes a lot of pride in it when we talk about what he did in class with my wife. Too bad our schedule only permits 2 days a week, he would enjoy going more often had our schedule permitted. And the best part about BJJ is that it's very effective to defend himself from bullies without needing to hurt anyone should one day he needs to. He was allowed two free try out classes before we had to commit. He initially did not want to participate, but the instructors gently coaxed him into it. My son loves the instructors (Masters Freeman and Mehrtens). They are laid back, nice guys.
