Great coffee and great conversations! Love this eclectic coffee shop in culebra. Highly recommend for a quick snack and well made coffee. It's always justifiably crowded, so don't be in a rush.

The absolute best coffee and ambiance in Culebra. Love the cappuccino and macchiato!!

Really good! -- Food, service, atmosphere were all perfect. The coffee/espresso had nice flavor and was crafted well. Definitely talented baristas here. Same with the food. I got a really generous portion with the egg/avocado toast. It was really good. Better than most places that make this sort of thing on the mainland. Everything we ordered was great. I feel like they took care in the presentation, taste, and serving size. The outside dining areas are pretty cool too. Swings are attached to the roof and you get "swing chairs" next to the tables. Also, very nicely decorated throughout. Loved all the signatures and notes on the walls (exterior and interior). Highly recommended if you are in Culebra and want a good coffee or breakfast.

We happened upon this place and decided to stop in. Best coffee (oatmilk latte) I've had in a long time. Thanks for the effort in maintaining your lovely establishment!

I want to leave a review of the Blac Flamingo coffee shop, we are from Boston, first time visiting Culebra Island, the best place to have breakfast, caring staff, delicious food and amazing coffee, you are the best on this island, keep it up

Just got off the ferry and was told about this coffee place Blac flamingo service was amazing had the avocado toast vegetarian style amazing coffee was crazy good and very Puerto Rican strong!!!

Excellent customer service, cute little spot with writing on the walls for whoever wants to leave their mark. It was about a two hour wait (they're one of a few that are open early morning). The matcha was good-it wasn't sweet and they had almond milk as an option which I appreciated. Not everything was available on the menu so abruptly I had to change my mind but I wasn't disappointed. At the register they had baklava (pistachio and guava) I tried them both. The guava was a little too sweet for me and they had a lot of cinnamon. Probably would have pair better with a coffee. The owner is their barista and makes it a point to talk to as many customers. He's really kind.

A must visit spot! Fuimos a culebra por un día y encontramos este lugar que está buenisimo! Agarramos el Blac forest bagel, avocado toast, French toast y los tacos y todo estaba super rico. Las limonadas y cafés también están muy buenos! Recomendado 100%. Y el dueño del lugar super amable!

Bright, lively coffeeshop with a splattering of greenery. Colorful drawings from guests cover every inch of the walls, giving the space a playful feel. Before we left, we couldn't resist leaving our own mark on the walls. Super grateful to have found iced coffee on Culebra! The coffee itself is more on the acidic side - not necessarily bad, just different. The pastries they offer are a nice accompaniment, especially the almond croissant. Def worth the stop before a day of adventuring on the island!

Got there at 9:40am on a Saturday and there was a long line, which we were okay with because we thought it would move relatively quick. We were standing in line for one and a half hours and got our coffee orders first. Food only came out at 11:40am, which is crazy. Not much seating for the demand, and we had to eat standing outside. We got the cold brew, a flat white, avocado toast and French toast. Coffee is delicious and food was great too! But the not worth the wait. Staff was nice but not sure why they were sooo slow with the food order.

Puerto Rico seems to love it's scrambled eggs with turkey and so do I! This is the second restaurant that I saw in PR that offers this combination, which I regularly make at home but never see on the menu in California. To make it even better, the scrambled eggs are paired with French toast topped with fresh fruit. I love sweet and savory breakfast combinations and rarely see them together. The portion size, one piece of French toast plus the eggs, was perfect for breakfast and I left neither stuffed nor hungry. I also ordered a cup of hot tea to get some caffeine. I'm not a fan of coffee and usually go for chai but it wasn't an option here. My vegetarian boyfriend ordered a breakfast sandwich without meat. The cafe is small but what isn't on a tiny island. There were a few tables indoors and outdoors though. If I ever go back to Culebra, hopefully I'll be able to visit this spot again!

Iced latte and mocha. A sleepy gooood boyyyy.

Really dug this place and vibe. The french toast and croissants were great, and the coffee was awesome. Had ice lattes twice - and they were great each time. It's a popular spot and one of a few places (only?) to get coffee like this on island, so don't be surprised by a line or small wait time to get your food/drinks, but it's well worth the wait. You could even use that time to pet a few of the many cats roaming the streets of Culebra!

It was colourful, warm and welcoming. Culebra is not an island of big fancy 5 star hotels or casinos and that's just what I were looking for. You feel at home in Culebra the moment you are greeted at the airport by Mark or Terrie and this is something that I have never experienced before. Mark and Terrie were over the top, fantastic hosts. They were more than helpful when it came to suggestions on places to dine, activities to do that day or places to rent a kayak or bike. Not only were they friendly and accommodating but they went above and beyond what you would normally expect from a regular B&B in the states. Their thoughtfulness radiates from them like sunshine on the beach. If my boyfriend or I needed anything at all, Mark and Terrie would make sure they recommended something or got it for us. I went to Culebra during Thanksgiving vacation and wasn't expecting to find a Turkey dinner anywhere. To my surprise, I was invited upstairs to Mark and Terrie's place above the guesthouse for a HUGE feast fit for a king. It was great to converse with other guests, meet their friends from the island and get to know Mark and Terrie. I felt like a true islander that had lived here for years and not just a visitor or a guest. I stayed in the Bougainvillea Room which had a Queen sized bed. Each room at the Palmetto included a private bathroom with a shower, mini-refrigerator, an air conditioner and an alarm clock (very helpful, but we didn't use it much... hehe). They provided clean linens and also offered complementary beach towels, snorkeling gear and GREAT coffee every morning.. and this just names a few of the complementary items offered. Thank you Mark and Terrie!!

We had a coffee pot right outside our room (with the best coffee!) and also had access to a stove in the bigger kitchen. Our room had its own fridge. Each morning a homemade pastry was provided. Dining out in Culebra was mostly disappointing, so we were glad to be able to prepare some of our own meals. Other common areas include a front patio, a comfy living room, and a shady backyard with a few seating areas. Beach towels were provided as well as serviceable snorkel masks. We enjoyed chatting with guests from the Pacific Northwest and Sweden. You should be aware that there are crowing roosters in the neighborhood who do not limit themselves to mornings. I suspect you will hear them anywhere you stay on the island because wild chickens are everywhere. If you want to have the experience of what it might be like to live in Culebra, staying at the Palmetto would be a good choice.

Mary picked us up from the airport, took us on a little tour of the town and showed us where we could find golf carts. The hotel is just a couple blocks from the airport so it's walkable. We departed early in the morning and packed light so we were able to walk to the airport in the morning. The golf cart and jeep rental places are also nearby and right across from the airport. There is a grocery store down the street that we stopped in daily. I'm from a city and used to walking so we did walk to town one night for dinner which I didn't think to be a bad walk and took maybe 15 to 20 minutes. I would recommend renting a golf cart or jeep since you'll want to check out a few beaches and the best way to see the island is to drive around. You may miss out if you try to walk everywhere.

Bellavista Bed and Breakfast is the best place to stay on Saint Thomas and let me tell you why. Location: The bed and breakfast is halfway up a sizable hill, so you get a clear view of the cruise ship harbor, the ocean, and all of Charlotte Amelie, the second biggest town on the island. It's far enough away from downtown that you can't really hear it, but close enough that a quick 5 minute walk will get you where you want to go. Facilities: An amazing house with surprisingly strong security; if she didn't point it out to you, you wouldn't notice it at all. The house is very open during the day and locked up tight at night time. The house itself is gorgeous with a lovely open living room and a balcony off the kitchen where Wendy, the owner, serves her amazing breakfasts (more on that later). There is a private deck side pool for when you want to skip coki beach and just be somewhere quiet. The rooms are just what you need, and she keeps them immaculate. Breakfast: Prepared to be blown away. My wife and I are pretty used to hotel continental breakfasts: contrasted with Wendy's food the hotels are serving you rubbish. Wendy prepares beautiful meals with fresh fruit, everything made from scratch, and frequently with self made smoothies. Breakfast isn't something you'd ever expect to be this good; for us it was the best part of everyday, and we had some really good days. Wendy: Yeah she's an amenity all by herself. She's incredibly friendly, very funny, and gives you the most personal service you've ever had. She knows practically everything about the island and what to do, she knows exactly who and when to call for cabs, and on top of this runs the whole B&B almost single handedly. She's one of the nicest people you will ever meet. All in all you're going to be getting an experience better than some of the activities on the island you'll be booking. Wouldn't you rather have an amazing experience you can rely on everyday than just the regular old hotel trip? I would, and I am so glad I stayed here.

Our wedding was in December, and it's now almost February--still no response from the venue or the owner. The issue? We paid extra for a higher-tier bar package, only to find that our bar signage was hidden, and the bartender had no idea how to make any of the drinks. Classic cocktails like Old Fashioneds and Negronis were made poorly (when they were made at all), and in the end, most guests resorted to drinking only wine, champagne, or beer--completely negating the premium package we paid for. We made menus for the drinks and they magically disappeared. To make matters worse, we were previously assured via email that the bartender was experienced, only to later find out that they were hired the day before the event. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. We reached out multiple times to resolve this fairly, including requesting a partial refund for a service we didn't receive. We were met with silence. Someone on Instagram keeps telling us that "someone will reach out," yet here we are, still waiting. If you're considering this venue, be warned: they have no problem taking your money, but when an issue arises, they disappear. We expected better, and at the very least, a response. Mind you, the location is spectacular but the fact that they hired someone without experience to work a wedding is shady and unfair to the guests and couple who paid out of pocket to make this an experience. It was an experience but not one that we smile about when it comes to talking about the bar saturation . 90% of guests are all industry people. Thanks for not responding. I tried.

We recently stayed at the Rainforest Inn during our trip to Puerto Rico, and I want to share our…read morehonest experience both the good and the bad. This is simply our experience, and I'm not interested in debating or defending how we felt. To start with the positives: before booking, I read many reviews and was excited about supporting what appeared to be a small business run by a husband and wife. The property itself is absolutely beautiful , truly breathtaking scenery. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and surprisingly cool despite there being no air conditioning. The cooling system on the beds was amazing. We also did the hike on the property, which was beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The wife was incredibly pleasant, welcoming, and knowledgeable about hospitality. She made us feel comfortable from the beginning. Unfortunately, several interactions with the husband left us feeling uncomfortable throughout our stay. Each morning, coffee and tea were offered to guests. One morning, since we planned to hike, we politely declined coffee multiple times. Despite saying no several times, the offer continued in a way that felt oddly tense, as though our declining offended him. During conversation, he openly mentioned that his wife often tells him he comes across as rude. He also praised her hospitality skills, and honestly, I completely agreed with him on that point. What really unsettled me happened when we were signing waivers for the hike. He handed me the waiver with a pen attached. After I passed the paperwork to my husband, my husband reached for the pen, and instead of handing it to him directly, the pen was tossed toward him. Whether intentional or not, the interaction immediately rubbed me the wrong way and changed the energy for me completely. For context, we are a Black couple, and while I cannot say what anyone's intentions were, some of the interactions throughout our stay felt uncomfortable enough that it became hard not to notice. Especially in the way my husband was treated at times. Another example: he offered to send horseback riding information to me. Since I didn't have my phone nearby, I asked twice for the information to be sent to my husband instead. Despite that, the information was still sent to me. The final issue involved the laundry area. We were washing a small load of clothes and some towels during the allowed hours. A few minutes into drying, he opened the dryer himself, removed my personal clothing including bras and underwear -- and left them sitting on top of the washer. He later sent a text saying the dryer was overloaded and making noise, although the load was not packed tightly and was smaller than the load left behind by the previous guests. What bothered me most was not the concern about the machine, but the fact that my personal undergarments were handled instead of simply asking us to adjust the load ourselves. None of these incidents individually caused a confrontation because we chose to remain respectful and calm throughout our stay. However, taken together, they left a stain on what otherwise could have been an excellent experience. Afterward, I revisited some of the lower rated reviews and noticed that several other guests also mentioned discomfort with the husband's demeanor and communication style. I also noticed responses to criticism often seemed defensive. Again, this review is not written to argue with the owners or invite debate from strangers online. This was our experience, and no one gets to tell us how we should feel about the interactions we had during our stay.

We prefer B&Bs that have absorbed some local color and character. In selecting the "Garden by the…read moreSea," we hit the nail right on the head. This lovely little inn has true island charm--from the private, screened-in outside shower replete with tropical plants, sea glass mobiles, and walls bedecked with sea shells and corral, to the open-air common room with beautifully tiled mosaic floors of local sea life, and birds chirping all around. The location was perfect for us. It was a reasonable stroll to the beach bars and ferry (by way of the path along the pond). But the distance from those "lively" spots means that an evening spent on the veranda at the inn is restful, not like your third-story balcony over M Street in Georgetown. When we booked our trip in March, it was with Kathleen, but when we arrived it was the new owners, Eileen and John, who greeted us. Every thing had been handled so seamlessly that, if they had not told us of their new occupation as inn owners, we would not have known there had been a hand-off. From the helpful hospitality and excellent breakfasts, to the morning greeting of Fiona and Cooper (their dogs), we found this garden by the sea a genuine West Indies experience.

The views are spectacular and it's so pleasant sitting either on our private balcony, at the pool or at the restaurant looking out over the harbors watching all the activities. The room we have is very large with a very comfortable bed, nice sofa and chairs. Bathroom is more than serviceable but not luxurious. I love the laid back pace. Sitting at breakfast chatting with the other guests, enjoying the swings at the pool, the out of this world dinner at the steakhouse. It's exactly the kind of relaxing getaway we needed!

My husband and I just spent five incredible days there and can't recommend it enough. It's a stone's throw away from the airport, so super easy to get to. The hospitality is unmatched (Eileen is the BEST!), the rooms are large, clean and spacious, the beds are SO comfy and they've got this salt water pool where you can just relax and soak up the sun and some killer views of the ocean. And can we talk about breakfast?! Eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, toast, OJ, tea, coffee - all piping hot and made fresh for you every morning. Also, they've got this incredible on-site restaurant, Island View Steakhouse. Chef Marshall Bishop heads it up and trust me, the man's a genius. We unfortunately only dined there one night since we wanted to hit up all of the other "good" restaurants on the island and regret not having another dinner there. Every last thing about our meals, from appetizers to dessert, blew us away. Those meals were hands down the best we had on the island, and I think we knew it that night. I'm STILL dreaming about the perfectly prepared ribeye I had the pleasure of having. Honestly, it was the best I've ever had! Do yourself a huge favor and check out Island View Guest House and Steakhouse. I guarantee you won't regret it. And before anyone asks, no, I was not paid or asked to say any of this; i just wanted to give this little slice of heaven a shout out!
