The bbq portion of the store is great. The tri tip sandwich can be hit or miss at times (dry or just right). My favorite is their steak sandwich. I've gotten some of their family dinners and it's the right amount of food. There can be a wait time when they're busy. The store has a variety of meats and seafood but I can't judge their quality of meats since I've never ordered any cuts. I've gotten some rubs and other "groceries" from there. I come in here quite often because there is always a great selection of beef, pork and chicken all displayed behind the glass meat counter in any cut that you can think of. Marinated meats are also on hand. BL Quality Meats is much more than the meat counter. It is also a specialty food store where you can find anything you might need to create a wonderful meal with one stop shopping. There is a great selection of seasonings, sauces and oils that you will not find in the local grocery stores. There is a barbecue takeout counter for your lunch and quick dinner needs. 10/13/23 Getting food for lunch tomorrow. 2 1/2 chicken plates & a rib plate ordered with ranch beans, loaded mashed potatoes, potato salad & macaroni salad. Rib plate came with sides too! The worker was kind and happy to give recommendations. They are busy and he said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I went in to get it. Safe & clean! After walking in, I wasn't sure where to go. I asked asked & a worker asked if it was raw or cooked. Said cooked and I was told to go back outside and to the left. Did so and waited a bit. Not even recognized. I had to say something . Not a welcoming worker at all when I asked about my order. Pretty rude! Why? . Paid for the order with thanks and a welcome and told it would be up in a little bit. They were busy! Waited a bit more before it was handed over and left. Took much longer than told it would take to be ready. Hopefully the food is good! Customer service really needs work! The guy that took the order was better! Outside are a bunch of tables & chairs to eat if you want. 10/14/23 Lunchtime! We had a little bit of everything to try! Chicken was seasoned good & with with the BBQ sauce, it was really good! Rib was tender & delicious! Potato salad was flavorful along with the macaroni salad! Tasty ranch beans & loaded potatoes too! I'm a bit surprised that the Whole Chicken combo with 2 sides and 6 rolls went up by 10 dollars in just about 8 months. From 19.99 to 29.99. That's just not worth it. Pains me to say this. This place is my go to for exotic meats and meat in general. I love them which is why I can't bring myself to do 1 star. My complaint is oddly specific. I've gone through them 3 times to slice meat for making beef jerky and yet they can't seem to figure it out, or at least care enough to give a quality product. It's not a hard order, slice up some London broil in thin sheets but in return I've received butched random slices and different degrees of thickness. Today I ordered 4 pounds and could only use 3 pounds of it bc I can't dehydrate half inch thick stips of meat. For a company that is supposed to be a "quality meat" place, figure it out. read more

Absolutely love that there is a quality butcher near by with huge selections of proteins. From land, sea and air, this place has it all and more. Been coming here for awhile now and love the selection and quality of their meats. Usually will get peppered bacon, stuffed chicken breast or one of their famous marinated tri-tips. Only a couple of gripes with this little gem. It's not in Hanford. I'll make 20-30 min hump to Visalia for some good meat so no biggie there. When they're busy, sometimes the guys helping will not use the number system and will leave people (me) hanging for awhile. People in line don't care. They'll go if someone makes eye contact with them. Meanwhile I'm standing by the bacon. This is probably my biggest gripe but I try to to go when it's not busy. Last one and hopefully this was an isolated incident, I purchased a delicious looking sourdough loaf next to the register that was marked as made in a home kitchen. Brought it home with hopes of making a sandwich the following day. I decided instead to warm it up and consume it for dinner that night. Upon inspection it had some mold. Decided to abort its use and figured I'd cut it up and make it into croutons the following day. Cut it up and had mold going inside. Threw it away. Sucker was $12.99 too. Had I known the price I prob wouldn't have purchased it to begin with but the fact that it molded so fast was kick in the gut. Had they been closer prob would have gone back. Okay venting done. We order the half chicken dinner with potatoes salad, the beef, the tri tip, green beans, mash potatoes and Mac salad. The chicken was amazing and had great smoked flavor. The pulled beef was very nice and rich. The tri tip was not good at all and was very dry. The green beans and Mac salad were pretty good. The mash potatoes had way to much pepper and I did not like the potato salad. Another knock is they do not make their own bbq sauce they give you sweet baby rays. This review is for the prepared foods (bbq takeout) counter, not the market. We had the bbq chicken, shredded beef, and tri tip with sides. We went right before closing, so they were out of many of the sides, but I liked the mac salad. The potato salad was average and the mashed potato salad (not sure it's called that) had too much pepper for my taste. The shredded beef was very good and the half chicken was a steal for the price. I just want to say you guys are all awesome. I got your marinated TRI Tip Whiskey Bourbon.... Oh my bears I slow cooked it in a foil wrap not directly on the heat but on the side where the burners weren't on. I cooked it for 30 minutes in a foil wrap then took it out of the wrap and put it on the top rack on the flame side for 30 minutes as well. 15 minutes on each side. Then took it off the grill and let it sit for 20 minutes. I thinly sliced its edges were well done and the middle of the trip tip was a perfect medium rare. The taste was heavenly our family loved every bite. It was a melt in mouth taste. Cooked it with mixed veggies with the au ju from the foil wrap, made some white rice and chili and a salad on the side. read more
