Keep coming back for their tri-tips. I live in Seattle now but every time I visit or someone visits me I make sure to load up on at least 6-7 of those bad boys. Not sure if it's the same owners but I have not noticed a change in quality or flavor. I do miss the PK Red Bull flavor but there are others that are just as good. Be prepared to pay as they are not giving them away but definitely worth the cost. read more

I purchased a whole grain fed steer from a very reputable seller and had it processed at Exeter Meats. Three weeks later I ended up with someones old diary cow. Worst beef I ever had! I can't prove it, but I'm convinced someone switched out my beef with someones old cow. read more

I purchased an animal at our local fair and sent it to be processed at Exeter meats. In the auction book, and paperwork it was advertised that the price to process was $90. It took well over a month to process the carcass and when I went in to pick it up today I was charged $100. I asked why when in very clearly said on the paperwork from the fair and on the price board behind me that the cost should be $90. I was told that was the price for a non-fair animal and the fair animals have different price. She showed me a separate sheet of paper with "fair prices" written on it. I don't have a problem paying fair market value for the processing of the animal, but I do have a huge problem with the fact that the price board in the shop advertised $90 and the fair paperwork said the same thing. I would have chosen our regular locker plant had I known the price would have been the same. I get that is is only $10 but it is the principle of the deal. Marketing up prices because of where the animal was purchased is not cool. read more

Do yourself a favor, Central Valley, stop by and pick up any meat of your choice. They do them all right. Lemon pepper chicken is incredible. Succulent and mouth watering, well prepared chicken. Fine cuts on the tri-tip and tenderness. A true delight and well prepared nod to the central valleys gem: trip tip. I am very pleased with our first experience here. They slaughtered, butchered, cut and wrapped our dexter heifer exactly as we requested- into 1 and 2 pound packages of meat, neatly boxed. The man that came up to our place to kill our cow has been doing this work for decades. Our cow did not suffer. He was quick and efficient. read more

Meat is really great for the price. I found this place eating bacon at a local breakfast spot and asked them where they got their bacon. This is the place. The bacon has very little fat and a lot of flavor. I'm post this cause if you're on your way to sequoia national park, stop by and pick up some meat for your camping. read more

ok so i love meat and i love this meat store! the only downside to this place is if you happen to drive by it you might catch a glimpse of the meat being....um.....well I drove by and there was a cow hanging and oh my gosh it freaked me out. Right in the middle of town, in the middle of day there ws a cow hnging :/ so anyways you go in and its tiny little store front and they have two big freezers packed with all kinds of meats from tri tips, pork chops sausages you name it. we have tried the bacon burgers (hambburgers infused with bacon) and the burgndy tri tip is to die for. we bbqd it and jeez louise the meat like practically falls apart- i happen to take my mom a burgandy tri tip and she cooked it as you would a roast with potatoes and veggies and she said it was awesome that way as well. i try to by my meat there now than rather a grocer store. read more

We happened upon this butcher shop on a vacation. We were very impressed. Just cooked the Italian sausage in a spaghetti and holy-**** it's AMAZING!! The other meats we haven't cooked yet but I'm sure they're top stuff! They were packaged exceptionally well (chriovac), none of this cling-wrap nonsense, so they travelled perfectly in the cooler of ice. Service was really good, everyone in there was great. I just returned from an annual father/son salmon fishing trip, and following a recommendation from a friend, I called Exeter Meats and scheduled to have our fresh catch vacuum sealed in individual portions then frozen, using their flash-freeze method. In addition, they provided an option to smoke our fish, which I was very excited about. While dropping this off for processing, I purchased other items such as their marinated tri-tip, sausages (in a couple of different flavors & varieties), all beef hotdogs, etc. The prices were very reasonable, and the products were exceptional...try the bacon infused hamburger patties!! Anyway, we picked up our fish a few days later and everything was neatly packaged & labeled. The price for the service was also very fair. If I had sealed these at home using my personal FoodSaver, I would have paid almost as much for just the bags. We tried the fishing the following day. WOW! We had requested the meat cuts to be divided up 5 ways equally and they divided and packaged everything, including packing everything in 5 separate boxes and bags. Highly recommend! My husband and I brought our two bucks here to have them processed this last season 2015. They did the worst job we have ever had. First they left our backstraps whole instead of cutting into steaks as we requested. Now I have to defrost them almost completely to cut into steaks then repackage and refreeze the rest for another dinner. Second, almost every package of chops still have a lot of glaze on them which needs to be cutoff prior to cooking. Note that the glaze is supposed to be cut off at the processing market. Third, they couldn't even place two pieces of meat close to the same size in one package. One piece will be a normal size while the other is half or twice the size as the first or even worse there is three very small chunks with one normal size chop. These guys don't even deserve 1 star. I don't recommend this company for processing you game. read more
