I didn't get to the bakery until late mid morning and most everything was gone, with 2nd batches in the oven. I bought a couple of rounds of sweet bread, and the sweet bread here is amazing. It's just like my late grandmother's recipe. On my second visit, I ordered a mista sandwich and a couple of pastel de natas (and more sweet bread). The sandwich and tarts were divine! I was so happy that I stopped by again. I don't drive up north as much these days, but this bakery is a 45 min drive, and I plan on going again soon.

Some of the produce and the meat and dairy is in a walk in cooler , so you need to dress for 40 degrees if you are going to spend times in these departments. Sizes are larger- for example - mushrooms are packed in 2.5 lbs, not 8-12 oz like a supermarket. Some items are equivalent to club store sizes, others are larger. Items may have a unit price and a case price, I bought a comercial quality non- stock cooking spray to try, a larger spray can than the supermarket which was also available in a case of a dozen. I like skirt steak, the slot was empty ( happens from time to time,), but if it's on their online order system they can get it , like when I want a lot of boneless beef short ribs. I asked about veal, which US Foods has on their food service restaurant supply side, I was told some items are available and some are not available through the Chef Store, just ask about specific items. One cool items were bamboo skewers- which were available in 4 lengths , 6,8,10&12 inches. The restrooms, which are in a location for the shopping public and not hidden in a store room have a coded lock, so you need to ask for the code.

Ordered my food about 25 minutes before my break. Walked over. As I stood there the woman (I believe Missy) looked at me and looked away. I stood there as she made a sandwich in one of the slowest motions I've ever witnessed. Then a man from DoorDash came in. She told him,I'm sorry for the wait I've been sooo busy. I still gave her grace and waited. She eventually hands him his bag of items. I said hey,I ordered my food about 40 minutes ago online. She told me I Don't have an order for you. I showed her my email. She then said I don't know what to tell you. I was running out of time to even eat at this point. I told her my name again and that I would call regarding getting my money back. I got the most terrible sandwich for $20 Nextdoor and basically didn't even eat. So I called and she proceeded to say she was soo busy. I politely told her,you absolutely were not. I watched you for 20 minutes! And you ignored me multiple times after looking at me. You dismissed me. She claimed she had 3 online orders before I got there. She stated she found my order. I reminded her that I placed my order 25 minutes before I even got there. She then apologized again,while defending the fact she was "so busy" I stated that "being so busy" has nothing to do with customer service. I asked for management. She said they would be back on Monday. What a let down. What a shame that people With no customer service have to work in it just to have a job. I have sympathy and understanding to a certain level. But now I'm out the $20 I spent on a terrible sandwich from the neighboring store plus my expectations and business from what I was expecting to be an amazing sandwich.
