I love burgers and my heavens this place does some of the best burgers my lips have every laid themselves upon.
Came here with a few mates. A decent size group of blokes, maybe six or seven of us. The staff was ultra cool with us, making jokes and having a laugh while we waited for our orders. I must admit I was impressed how quickly they got all our meals out.
Not a huge place inside. Only a few tables, one big one we managed to all squeeze on. The atmosphere was lacking a little something, not sure what though. The art style on the walls were wild. Some form of mad crazy hip hop street art (really showing my age now). The tables and chairs where pretty plain but I've come to the conclusion that this was done on purpose as they want the magic to be the food on top of the table. Who cares about a table? No one remembers a table... well, except for me.
I went with the Blame Canada burger ($17). Beef pattie, American cheese, maple glazed bacon, maple aioli, and poutine on a BL milk bun. In case you don't know what poutine is it's a Canadian thing of chips and gravy - you MUST try it.
This burger is all types of right. The saltiness of the cheese and bacon mixing with the sweetness of the maple leaves a flavour eruption in your mouth like no other. The beef pattie is cooked perfectly and just remembering this now makes me want to drive out there again and wait overnight for the place to open just like those lads waiting in line for the new iPhone to come out. Unlike the iPhone though these burgers are very much intended to be eaten and is far more delicious.
If you're ever out this way and you have a burger craving and you want to try some real American inspired burgers, you can't skip this place. I'd hate to see it busy due to limited seating. However you can always get the meal takeaway and retreat to somewhere quieter. read more
