--100/5 -- Worst Dining Experience! Terrible Food, ABUSIVE LANGUAGE, OFFENSIVE SLANG, and Undisclosed 18% Gratuity!
We had one of the worst dining experiences at BK Halal BBQ in Fort Lauderdale on October 24, 2026. From the food quality to the customer service and billing, almost everything about our visit was disappointing.
First, we waited almost an hour for our food. After such a long wait, we expected at least a decent meal. Unfortunately, the food was extremely disappointing.
We ordered Chole Bhature, but it was so excessively salty that we found it practically inedible. When we politely brought this to the employee's attention, his response was shocking. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, he essentially told us, "What can we do? We cannot do anything. You need to eat it."
Seriously? How can a restaurant serve food that a customer finds inedible and then insist that the customer must eat it anyway? Is this how paying customers should be treated?
We also ordered Bihari Kebab, which appeared to be undercooked. The inside was still raw. This raised serious concerns for us about the food preparation and quality.
Then came another unpleasant surprise: the automatic 18% gratuity.
Even after selecting "No Tip" on the payment screen, an 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. We were not informed about this mandatory charge before ordering, and I did not see any clear disclosure.
Our receipt shows an additional $5.89 (approximately $6) in gratuity.
Let me be clear: We have absolutely no problem tipping for good service. We appreciate and regularly tip restaurant staff. But tipping should not be used to excuse terrible service, and mandatory charges should be clearly communicated before customers order.
When we questioned the charge and requested a refund, the employees refused, claiming they did not know how to operate the payment machine to process a refund.
What made the entire experience even worse was the staff's behavior.
BOTH THE MALE AND FEMALE EMPLOYEES USED OFFENSIVE AND ABUSIVE LANGUAGE TOWARD US. THE MALE EMPLOYEE EVEN USED OFFENSIVE SLANG DIRECTLY AT US.
The female employee spoke to us in an extremely disrespectful, insulting, and verbally abusive manner. We felt as though we were being treated like people asking for free food rather than paying customers.
It is absolutely unacceptable for restaurant employees to use OFFENSIVE SLANG, INSULTS, OR ABUSIVE LANGUAGE toward customers simply because they raise a legitimate complaint.
Instead of listening, apologizing, or attempting to resolve the problems, the employees became confrontational and made inappropriate accusations against us.
We paid for our food. We did not come asking for anything free. We simply expected properly prepared food, transparent pricing, and basic respect.
How is it acceptable for a restaurant to make customers wait nearly an hour, serve excessively salty and apparently undercooked food, dismiss legitimate complaints, automatically charge an undisclosed gratuity, and then verbally abuse customers who ask questions?
This experience was not just disappointing; it was genuinely upsetting. The issue is far bigger than the extra $6. It is about food quality, honesty, professionalism, and how customers are treated.
I have retained the receipt documenting the gratuity charge and intend to raise these concerns through the appropriate consumer protection channels.
I would strongly discourage others from visiting based on our experience. Please carefully check your food and bill before paying.
Negative: Extremely disappointing food, OFFENSIVE SLANG AND VERBAL ABUSE, unacceptable customer service, and a complete lack of professionalism. read more
