My car is safe, her list is completed with everything she has requested, and we get cash points as a valued customer/member. The most valued asset that this location has is their staff. Non-essential products were restricted from purchase due to Bergen's blue collar law. Lots of customers were in checkout lanes. This bjs in paramus is getting horrible. Yesterday Sunday I put an order in front 8:45 am and on 12:29pm.. almost 4 hrs later they sent a text saying..they are getting order ready.. I still haven't heard back from this bjs.. Until this morning around 10 am I received a text stating..this company called roadies was going to deliver my order. Which is ridiculous because I put my order to be canceled last night when I did not receive it... What a joke this store is ! The rudest employees, who do not want to work. I specifically drove there to get an item that it said was in stock. I checked all over the meat department looking for it and didn't see it, so I asked an older man who was working in the department and showed him what I wanted and he barely looked at my phone and said they didn't have it. I reiterated that it showed it was in stock and he just pointed to a case and said no . I asked another person in that department and he just shook his head and said no as well. Since I drove quite a distance to get there I went to customer service. The gentleman there said it was in stock but had to be put out and told me to come back tomorrow. I said no ,so he said he would have them put out some out, taking about 15 minutes. I said fine. This was at 1123am. At 1154am I gave up waiting , since my husband was waiting for me in the car,and left. I know they were not looking for anything, they were just waiting for me to give up and leave. Whatever you do, please do not place an order for pick up at this location. I placed my order at 11am when all the items was in stock. BJ's sent me a text to inform me the order will be ready between 4-5pm and then another email saying 7-8pm. By the time I arrived at 8:30pm my order still wasn't ready and by the time my cart arrived, 4 items was missing off of it. They didn't tell me, I had to figure it out myself and ask for my money back. I spoke to the manager and all she can offer me was, they got slammed today. Smfh! My wallet was stolen while I was shopping at the Paramus Bjs, I talked to the people in charge so they can check the camaras but they told me that the person in charge of the camaras was not there at the moment. They got all my information and they promised to review the camaras. We file a police report too. After a few days we went back to Bjs because nobody called and we talked to the general manager who wasn't even aware of the situation, he took our info again but he said that according to the policy of the store they cannot show us any footage from the camaras, and even if the police goes to the store asking to review the camaras Bjs cannot show it to them, the Police will need a subpoena or court order so they can review the footage, so I guess thieves are well protected by Bjs policies and of course they never call us back. read more

First off, being in Bergen County, and Paramus specifically, keep in mind that clothes and electronics cannot be bought here on Sundays. Yeah, good job whoever's idea that was. Good selection of your typical mass market items. Groceries, snacks, household supplies. How much money you'd save here compared to something like Walmart is hit or miss. This store and everyone who works in it are just absolute trash. It is ridiculous how much time I wasted trying to get assistance for a curbside pick up order. I had a pick up order that was supposed to be ready for pick up today between 3-4pm. As of 5:30 pm, yes an hour and a half later, not only was my order not ready on time - it was impossible to get any assistance. An online chat representative Cintia Sanchez wasted 20 minutes of my time only to tell me to call the store directly. Then, after calling the store and being placed on hold for yet another 20 minutes the person who answered the phone just hung up on me. What kind of customer service is this? This is so unprofessional and just leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth. I ended up just cancelling my order. The only reason I signed up for a BJs membership is because of the curbside pick up due to being high risk for COVID. There are plenty of other places I can shop and be served in a timely and courteous manner. This is not the first incident either. Last week when my husband went to pick up an order, he waited in his car for almost an hour waiting for his order. When he finally got through to customer service, they were extremely rude to him and told him his order was sitting in the store and he must have selected the option for in store pick up. If this was the case, then why was he asked for his car make ? Also the customers that shop here are either extremely dense or just selfish pricks. I placed an online order and was given a 2-3pm window. After many phone calls and received no update hours after BJ's missing the window, I tried to call and basically was hung up. In this day and age with so many shopping options, this is just not acceptable. I plan to cancel my membership and shop elsewhere. It's a very good place with very friendly stuff. I love shopping at this location compared to BJ's Rutherford. They always have enough checkout counters, and customers do not need to wait for a long time to complete billing. Usually, the store is well stocked. I gave it two stars because they accept coupons after they expire. And because this store taught me to check expiration dates. I made the mistake of buying baby formula and when I got home i noticed it was almost 2 months expired. I called and the lady on the phone denied my claim. I had to get back in my car that night and give an eye exam to her. She sent another rep to get another case and that too was expired. I walked with her back the second time and they were all expired. They gave me my money back with no apology or anything. I was buying the formula to supplement breastmilk but after that experience I stuck to just breastfeeding. Parents please read the expiration date of the food you buy from here. Not sure how the store does not have a mechanism in place to prevent this for happening. Especially with baby formula. read more

Upon arrival I was notified I needed to go into the store and speak with the customer service desk. That was where I picked up my items. I really like BJs. Wait a sec, that didn't sound right. Well, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Wait, that didn't sound right either. I'll start over. BJ's Wholesale Club is really good but with a few reservations, the most glaring of which is their "self checkout". In a word, it sucks. I assume that it's there to save time and manpower but in reality, the exact opposite is true. There are a plethora of things that can prevent you from being successful in your endeavors to use the damn thing. First of all, if you are buying something that the store deems as having a high probability of being stolen, you will need to have the system overridden manually. Razor blades for example. In case you've been living under a rock in the desert somewhere, you know that roving bands of thieves are targeting Gillette Fusion blades so a guy with a scan card around his neck will have to assist you with your automated check out which really is contrary to the entire automated check out concept. Same thing if you swipe your card too fast. Scan an item too quickly and you'll also have to wait. Now, with several self service check out lines all beeping because they need human managerial assistance, one would think that help would be expeditious. But noooooo, the guy who does the overriding seems genuinely put out at having to perform his given over riding responsibilities even though that seems to be his main responsibility. He's also often preoccupied with something else so you may have to just wait. You know, come to think of it, maybe the regular line is easier. Me thinks so. read more

BJ's is running a promotion right now offering a free month membership. When you visit customer service to activate your membership, they let you know that if you sign up right then, they'll give you the first month free, a 14 (or 16..can't remember) month membership, and coupons. Well, they got me to come in the store as they wanted, but I didn't sign up for a full membership as they'd hopedl BJ's is to Costco as Walmart is to Target. BJ's feels like a lower end store with less well known offerings. There are actually very few "genuine" deals here; ShopRite, CVS, and Target all have sales which trump BJs without the monthly membership fee. The Good: The lines are bearable, the warehouse is MUCH more spacious than other wholesale markets, there is more of a selection here at BJs, the place is just cleaner, and most importantly, it's not crowded. I actually enjoy coming here. I don't have a panic attack because there is no mad dash through the aisles to the checkout lanes. The Bottom Line: The self-check out lanes. I was hesitant to renew my membership here, but they sent me a $10 off coupon for renewal and costco's didn't sell Pampers diapers. I like how they always send me coupons for baby essentials like wipes, diapers, shampoo and other little things, the only thing I don't like about this BJ's in particular is no one knows where anything is. None of the associates, even the customer service associates know for certain if they have particular items. For instance, I asked where they carried BandAids because I went to the First AId aisle and did not see it, but two not one sales associates told me to go back and check again. After what seemed like forever, I finally found the Bandaids at the very bottom aisle between pepto bismal and antacids. Overall, this particular location isn't so great with service. But items wise they have pretty decent selection on organic items at a much cheaper price than wholefoods. read more

Came here yesterday to get my membership card. I had bought my brother a membership for Christmas well because he wanted it. (weird) oh well I ended up getting a membership too for free with signing him up. It has been a looooong time since I've last been here but it all seems to be the same as I remember it. You walk in and in front of you are rows of clothing you can purchase and to the left of that is all the electronics and behind that household items such as pots/pans, vacuums, even mattresses. Once you get past all that there's the frozen food section that has literally everything including my favorite things ever Party hors d'oeuvres they are delish. Up next is the deli and past that is pretty much everything else you could ever need. I probably wont be frequenting here often mainly because I don't need everything in bulk. I'm only one person but I will be coming here for specific items such as the party hors d'oeuvres and broccoli cheddar panera soup! One thing I will say is to bring some shopping bags to put your items in they do not bag items here. I also hear that BJ's has more name brand food than Costco. read more

This review is mainly for the bakery department, the store itself is fine. Ordered three sheet cakes within a week from this location and each experience was worse than the previous one. Last week I had the displeasure of dealing with a bakery worker named Gladys who refused to show us the book with cake designs and just couldn't fathom putting a light pink border on it. After fighting with her for fifteen minutes, she gave in and said she'd do a light pink border. When I went to pick up the cake, the border was falling off and instead of running it to the back to fix it, she told us to push it on with our fingers. Eventually, she took it to the back and fixed it. It still wasn't great as the cake was hollow in the center when it was cut open. Today, I went in a ordered two more sheet cakes. All I wanted was simple gold cake and buttercream. The snotty worker simply told me no even though I've gotten it done before. Will not be visiting this BJ's bakery anymore and considering the switch to Costco! read more

I call the club to order a birthday cake. The girl in Bakery speak no English which is not a problem. She sent me to the membership desk. The membership desk picked up the phone and placed it on the desk without even saying hello. After waiting for 10 minutes. They hanged up without even speaking to me. I called back and press 9 for the membership desk directly. They did the same exact thing to me without even a hello. This took place on April 12 2018 at 1:45pm. I am going to see if I can get a little better service at the East Rutherford club. After all I am a rewards Member. $100 well spent. This BJs is okay, I have been to worse. The shelves are normally stocked with everything I go there for. As for Sundays, no electronics and no clothing, awesome!!! Love the Blue Laws, forever and always, lightens up the Sunday crowd. Best time to go is before 11am Monday thru Friday. Don't go before a storm, don't go before a holiday. I noticed that they had the cheese sliced Cracker Barrel on sale, they also had a coupon, apparently a wonderful idea until I got home. The package was for $6.99 - $2.00 from the coupon, 3 packages of cheese each with 12 slides ( "a good deal"). One of the packages was way !!!! past the selling date and was green.
