PHONE: 901-385-3995 Bear with me because my praise is going to be fulsome! First, the people we dealt with (Don in Sales, Tony the Owner and one of the installers, Larry in the office, and Junior who did most of the installation) are ALL excellent individuals and representatives of this company. Don knows his doors and didn't try to "upsell" us at all - he got from us what we needed and wanted and then proceeded to give us a most reasonable quote - in fact, we were kind of shocked because we thought the total would be about 25% more than we paid - and scheduled us for installation sooner than expected. Second, these guys are "old world" in their approach to installing doors - like they are craftsmen from another era! Especially their newest cohort, Junior - I thought he'd been doing this for years; I learned today that he's just 6 or so months on the job and in this industry! Blows me away. Tony - the owner - is the same with 30+ years; and I imagine Larry is too with 35 years in this industry and having previously owned his own company is the same. Bottom line: they all know what they are doing, and they do it exceedingly well. Third - the quality of the product is TOP NOTCH. Not only does everything look attractive, but it's high quality - and, for a sense of security, that was very important to us. Here's the deal - if you are looking for any type of door for your home or business - Michael and I recommend that you contact American Door. In a world where customer service is often times lacking, where the quality of a job is many times not of the highest quality, where personnel have "attitude" and where it often "goes south on the customer", I am 100% convinced that you'll NEVER go wrong by doing business with the people at AMERICAN DOOR... We were supposed to get an estimate on replacing mirrors in our bathrooms. We set a date and time…read moreof three o'clock on a Thursday. On Wednesday we got a call asking if we would be home at the time scheduled, which we said yes. Thursday three o'clock the person wasn't there. About 10 after my wife called and they said they were running behind (could have given us a courtesy call to let us know) , technician call with an attitude saying he was three minutes out. When he got there my wife had some new shoe covers she asked him to put on, as we do with anyone who comes to our home for estimates or to do work and they do with no questions asked. Technician said he had his own which he did, but he had been using the same ones all day, so my wife again asked if he would use the new ones, he refused and asked if it was a safety issue, my wife said no, but if he was not comfortable with the request maybe he should leave, so he said he felt uncomfortable and left. My wife called the office to speak to a supervisor and he answered the phone. I asked to speak with him to ask him what was the issue of using our shoe covers, and he said that well maybe we thought his pants or shirt might not be clean so he felt it would be better that he leave. I explained that people come to our home to do work and while doing the work their pants or shirt may get sweaty or dirty and that was not an issue, its just that walking around on different surfaces with your shoes you don't know what you're picking up on your feet, but if that's how you feel well ok. Others may have had good experiences with them, but we could not even get an estimate, I would not recommend them to anyone.

UPDATE: it has been 8 days now and I have not heard from anyone at this company. He was able to…read moregive me a couple of prices during the visit but he said he had to get back to me on the total job. I could follow up but then will I have to continue to follow up throughout the project? Basically I feel my time was wasted. I found a brochure for The Glass Guru and gave them a call. When the rep got to my house he started talking about this huge fixed window (picture window) like he knew all about it, which confused me. He informed me he had come out before and treated the window we were talking about, which explains how I came across their brochure. The previous owners spent $370 to try a treatment that will unfog a window. (Little holes are drilled in the corners of the glass and solutions are sprayed in between the panes.) He said that treatment has a warranty and he could try the treatment again at no cost to me. That was a pleasant surprise! But on top of that, he said since the treatment didn't work (and he said it's possibly the fault of the technician vs the treatment itself) that I could get the cost of the treatment discounted off of replacing the window-whether it be just replacing the glass or the entire window. The treatment he was describing is unlike anything I've ever heard of and I bet a lot of people would try that before going full on into costly replacements. My rep was very professional on the phone and in person and called when he was on his way. I could tell he is passionate with his work. I'm really glad I called them because other companies just want to give you a quote for new replacement windows and that's it. He gave me detailed explanations of multiple options, broke down how things work into layman's terms and I'm waiting to hear back with a quote.
