I am a door dasher just trying to earn some extra money and make people happy. My time matters. When I got there they said the order would be ready in 2-3 minutes. I ended up waiting 17 minutes... every time I asked for an update they said it's almost ready. Good and bad this time. The calamari has changed to a larger portion. I tried the surf and turf stack. I noticed an oil pooling all around the mashed potatoes. This was the first time I ever tried this so I wasn't quite sure what was going on. Then I realized this oil was extremely salty. It was all over the shrimp which made them almost inedible. I was able to eat the steak and center of the mashed potatoes where this oil hadn't touched. The vegetables were extremely salty too. I told the waitress when I was done that this oil was way too salty. I see on the menu it's called Brewhouse Blonde garlic butter. If you took the shrimp and cooked them in this, they didn't need to pour several tablespoons of this all over the entire entree. It was just poor execution. I would never do that at home. Why would anyone want a salty oil dumped all over their food? It makes me think nobody in that kitchen has even tried this to see for themselves how bad it is. read more

Anytime I visit this location, I enjoy whatever I order. All the food that I have tried is delicious and fresh. This time, I had the chicken sandwich. It came out hot and it was put together well. I really recommend anything here. The sandwiches, salads, the fish. I especially recommend their pizzas. They are the best! And you can never go wrong with a pizookie! The GOOD: The food, for the most part, is good. Did I mention Pizookie™?!? The BAD: The menu is way, way too big. You can either do a small number of things well, or a large number of things average. The UGLY: Prices. $14.75 for a burger? $17.75 for Parmesan chicken? This isn't Malibu. I've been holding off on writing this review, because I keep waiting for that one visit that just "wows" me. That one time where I say "my god, why am I just now trying this?!?" Sadly, I don't think that visit will ever come. Is BJ's Brewhouse serviceable? Absolutely. Is it sometimes even good? You bet. But the majority of my visits here always end the same. "I can't believe I just spent that much, for that meal". Let's start with the menu. It's enormous. Like, they try and offer a little bit of everything. And unless you're the Cheesecake Factory, you're probably going to fail. I always second guess places that try and do too much. A general rule of thumb, is the less items on the menu, the better the food usually is. This is the case at BJ's. I've had a burger, pasta, chicken sandwich, pizza, wings, salad, seafood, ribs, healthy options, tacos and a quinoa bowl over the years. Not one of them stood out as "I would absolutely order this again". Which isn't to say they're "bad", they're just not memorable. And here's the kicker: the prices are just north of insane, for what you're getting. $16.50 for a tuna salad. $17.75 for Parmesan encrusted chicken. $20.75 for a mandarin glazed pork chop. $14.75 for a bacon burger. For these prices, I expect to get top of the line cuisine, and they just don't deliver that to your plate. Again, If I was paying about 30% less, I'd say that BJ's would be a perfectly acceptable restaurant, one that I'd visit more regularly. Based on this review, you're probably wondering why I visit as often as I do. One word: Pizookie™ If they've mastered one thing, it's dessert. A pizookie, (basically a cookie baked in a mini deep dish pizza skillet, topped with ice cream), is their flagship sweet treat. They offer pizookies in a variety of options: Churro, Chocolate Chunk, Cookies n Cream, Monkey Bread and Salted Caramel... just to name a few. They always come out hot, gooey, and delicious. I think I always leave happy, because of the pizookie at the end. If it's just the entree, I'd almost certainly never come back. They're also a great price. My friend had signed up for using the BJ's Brewhouse app and had received a free pizookie. We ordered the cookies and cream one. It was rich and delicious. Definitely shareable. I'd head back for a drink and a snack. I'd recommend this for happy hour. The service was rather slow (my friend and I would have easily ordered another drink if the bartender would have stopped by to ask how we were doing...) so, I'm not sure if this is a great place for a nice dinner. Not good. So I have a hateful relationship with wasabi. Years ago someone told me it was avocado and I ate it and was in for a very rude awakening when I put a large chunk in my mouth. But I love poke tuna. I ordered the dish with poke tuna, noodles, and guacamole. I asked for regular guacamole instead of the advertised wasabi guacamole. No problem. Guess what? It came out with the wasabi guacamole and I gagged. I seriously hate to complain, and I am really not usually super picky but I just couldn't deal. Wasabi is one of the very few foods I don't eat. We finally got someone's attention- she took it back to the kitchen. It came back with a lot less tuna and a guacamole that still didn't taste quite right. Our server was nice enough and probably not her fault, but honestly, when I waited tables, I would have taken it off the bill if I noticed a customer didn't really eat his or her meal. I have actually enjoyed the last few meals I have had at BJ's! Their menu is so extensive you could go there for a month and never eat the same thing! I'm partial to their salads and love the Ahi Tuna salad as well as their wedge salad! The burgers are good and my husband loves the piraña pale ale chili they have! He also loves the flatbreads.
