I preface this by saying I worked in the hospitality industry for many years so I know what it takes to do that job day in and day out. I had an amazing experience at my most recent visit to Bj's. I went in by myself for a solo lunch and sat at the bar. Erika was the bartender. She was incredibly kind throughout my visit, she was helpful and polite to her coworkers and she was completely professional during my entire stay-- she didn't ignore customers for side conversations or playing on her phone. My food arrived, brought by who I found out was AGM James-- and I experienced the same kinda attitude. He was happy to delivery my meal, asked if I needed anything else, brought me an additional condiment, and ensured again I was all set. These may seem like small gestures, or something you may not even notice, but as I worked these jobs before, I look out for the stand out employees that truly understand hospitality and providing an amazing experience-- even just for a burger. In fact, this review is less about the food (which was really good-- wings and sliders) and more about the professional service. In the world we live in, phones always in our hands, a different work ethic from the younger generations, so many distractions, it was so refreshing to see people taking pride in their work and the tone they set for the restaurant. Came here recently with 2 friends and the drinks were really good and refreshing on a nice warm summer day. The vibe was nice and chill inside with a lot of TVs so people can watch the games on. We were able to be seated immediately without a reservation which was lucky since it was definitely busy. I would recommend making a reservation. The service was quick, efficient, and accommodating to our order which was great. We ordered the avocado egg rolls as an appetizer to split which was delicious. I'd like to come back to try some of the other drinks and food on their menu as it's quite vast. read more

We tried to have a family dinner at BJ's. We had a 6:30 reservation, and a little after 7:30, they gave our table to another large party. Literally everyone person that was there while we waited got seated. We finally left at 7:45 since the manager wouldn't even come to talk to us, after we requested to see him. Had one of their take out deep dish pizza's tonight. It looked pretty good in their pictures and even the pie I got looked decent before eating it. Unfortunately it was not good. Crust was super soggy, almost raw on the bottom. Veggies were ice cold and completely raw...I mean not even cooked at all. I hate to be harsh but the rest of the toppings all tasted like they were from a cheap frozen pizza and void of any flavor. I picked up a slice and it fell completely apart. I had 2 very messy slices and threw the rest right in the garbage. Such a waste of money. read more

Had a wonderful experience during my recent visit. We went for dinner, the atmosphere was warm & cozy and the wait time was minimal--a great start to the evening. Our host was attentive, checking in on us a few times to ensure we had a great dining experience. I ordered the BJ's Kickin' Chicken Sandwich, substituting crispy chicken with grilled chicken, and my friend got the California Chicken Club. The fries were perfectly crispy and not too greasy. I like that the sauces were served on the side rather than in the sandwich, giving me full control over the spice level. So make that 18 empty tables or booths but a 15 minute wait. It's 6:04. I highly doubt they have 18 reservations that are either late or scheduled to walk in at 6:30. I felt compelled to write a review for BJ's restaurant sake....Friday...March 13, we were a party of 2x couples....headed to the bar just for a drink....around 9:30 pm, we sat at the bar just talking...there were 4 to 5 people bartending...or so at least i thought all of them were bartending....they seemed to be agitated at something....not one smile on all of them.....after 15 mins, i got the attention of one of the lady bartender and we ordered our drinks.....mixed drinks for our wife's and black and tan for the guys......i can tell she was irked by the black and tan...it shows in her face....not a smile at all.....she comes back with the mixed drinks and immediately looks at us raising her hands and saying "I only have two hands" she said she will bring the beers shortly.....i wonder what prompted her to say that? we were not rushing her or anything.......she said it with an aggressive demeanor.....we finish our drinks and paid the tab...we gave a 10 dollar tip and when she looked at our tip....she punched the register...slams the register door and walks away........about 10 mins later, a guy who is her assistant goes to us and ask us if we needed any more drinks....with an aggressive demeanor......i tell you...the vibe that night was off putting, everyone at the bar was very un-professional....THEY DID NOT WANT TO BE THERE THAT NIGHT......was the message......Management, pls talk to your crew, its not an easy job but you have to be professional about it.....everyday.....that crew needs to be warned at least....if they cannot handle the stress, they need to find another line of work..... read more

Clearly if we ever got seated the food was going to take at least another hour. Waitresses/waiters severely understaffed. Looks like a place with good atmosphere. I will say that in my experience the food has always been mediocre so if you're looking for a dinner spot there are better options around nearby. We popped in for a quick bite to eat after a night of fun at Level99. There were 4 of us in our group. We were quickly shown to a table. After some waiting our server came to greet us and take our drink order. Then after about 10 minutes another server brought and drinks and then informed us that she would be taking over our table, along with her trainee. I ordered a Steakhouse Wedge Salad, steak cooked medium rare. One of the others at our table ordered the Avocado Egg rolls, to share. Our food arrived pretty quickly and everything tasted wonderful. The avocado egg rolls were good, but nothing extra special, they definitely need the sauce they are served with. The steak was cooked perfectly and my salad was very fresh and tasted great. While the transition from our initial server to our new server was annoying, our new server was wonderful and she was very personable and friendly. I've been a fan of BJ's for years in California (when I lived there). I was thrilled when they opened in MA. The food is usually very good. And a visit today just reinforced my belief. The prices are just above average, but reasonable. One problem I saw today... no more Tri-Tip on the menu. While in CA I got a taste of it, but back east it's not the most popular cut. The staff paid attention and brought refills without us needing to ask. Overall, very good service. I see a lot of mediocre revires here but I really like the place. I found this place as it was very close to a hotel I was staying at. This is a regular, your average style american type of food. It is also a chain. I came here for lunch on a Monday and It was not crowded at all what soever. The space is huge and has a very nice and spacious bar area. I sat at the bar. The waitress who helped me was very nice, talkative and answered any and all questions I had. She also, took my allergies seriously. They have many different beers on tap. I tried a few of them they all were very good. I had a grilled chicken sand which with cheese, avocado, bacon, tomatoes and lettuce. The bread was very crispy and a bit buttery which I like. The bacon was cooked perfectly just how I like it. I had it with fries. The fries to me were just ehh. Maybe a but too salty for me, I don't know cant put my finger on it. If I am by one of these places as this is a chain I would come back but I wouldn't go out of my way to come to one. read more

Great for a really basic place (?) Service is slow - took forever to give our drink orders let alone food. We had a weird situation, though, where the table ahead of us dined and dashed so our waiter had trouble taking out order. There was also quite a wait even with a reservation. This place started out so strong when it first opened and now it's a disaster. Management definitely sucks because no well run restaurant should keep having the same issues over and over. Placed an order through DoorDash today. Received the wrong drink entirely. Shrimp dish I ordered was only half full and the bread that came with it was stale, not to mention the shrimp was totally lacking flavor. They also were behind in the kitchen (as usual) so one dasher had to leave because it was taking so long. Probably won't be back. Very unfortunate because I liked the menu. read more

I really don't like giving bad reviews but our experience here was less than stellar. The cocktails were good and some of the food was okay. The onion rings tasted like Funyons in my opinion. The restrooms were beyond nasty and very much neglected. No paper, filthy floors, I will end there because you might lose your appetite. Our waiter was someone I would expect at Dick's Last Resort...or maybe that is the vibe and we just weren't getting it. The final straw of the evening was when he assumed my husband was my daughter's grandfather and called him gramps. Yeah, that didn't sit well. Went there for a late lunch with my wife, after shopping for furniture. Wife ordered the smokehouse burger, which was hot and tasty. I ordered a personal pizza, had some cold spots and warm. I mentioned it to the server and she got them to make me a new one, which I appreciated. However, when it arrived it had a large hair on the plate, which I pointed out to the server immediately after she dropped it off. She was surprised and disappointed to see it as well and I simply just asked for the check. Her face said it all, she had no words. The pizza was taken off the bill, but after all that, the manager should have taken care of the whole bill. Just saying... Unfortunately, I have had issues here in the past. On two other occasions I had ordered burgers and they were cold. Coming here again was another opportunity to see if service had improved. I've read the other reviews and feel compelled to leave my own, since my experience seems at odds with so many negative reviewers'. I come here often, with groups and alone, & have had mostly positive experiences. The times that I've had the worst visits are when the servers and bartenders are stretched thin. The bar staff are overall stellar people and hard workers. I've seen them nearly bend over backwards to make sure guests are taken care of. And they are not afraid to cut patrons off to make sure they're not overserved. The food is decent, and I'd encourage anyone who's put off by their prices to take advantage of their daily specials and in-house beers. read more

Since BJ's restaurant and brewhouse has opened, I've been there at least once a week with a friend of mine we always hit the right booth. The white staff is very sweet and kind the manager Tim is really a sweetheart, and the waitress that we use is Cheryl I've known her a long long time from other places I get the same thing each time we come for lunch and they after lunch they asked if we need anything want anything else we said no we just wanna sit and talk and if they need the table to let us know I think it's time that they put a handicap button on their door or near it so people like my friend and I can get in there easier the doors are very heavy and to hold them open for someone who has a walker or Kane or a wheelchair has a hard time getting in there so I think it's time to get a handicap button so the door opens. I went through once they roundabout and got stuck in it so I think it's time but the food and the people that work there are so sweet and kind. I love going there they're friendly they know exactly what you want. They bring it right out nice and hot. I wish Cheryl and Tim worked there for a very long time. Went for lunch on a Sunday. It was not my first time at a BJs but was my first time at this location and in at least several years. The restaurant is large inside with plenty of seating. It was pretty quiet when we arrived but started filling up towards the end. We had a variety of meals between us all - salad, tacos, burger, sandwhich, tenders. And we had a coupon for their pizookie. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food came out pretty quick, was a good temperature, and it tasted great. The pizookie was really good. Definitely recommend leaving some room for dessert. Bjs is a good place for American cuisine, slightly upscale bar or sports spot, and brewery. read more

First time in Boston from Philly. Place was recommended. Great atmosphere. Clean. Started off with drinks and wings. The wings were good. I should have asked to have them cooked harder. But good. I personally got this peanut chicken pasta they. It was delicious! (If you not big on peanut butter or allergic I suggest you stay away.) Family got the other food I have pictured. My only gripe was my waitress took a bit long getting my beer but it was an overall great experience. Would come back again in the future. read more

We were heading toward Jordan's furniture and looking to grab a quick lunch. This newer restaurant had outside seating, so we decided to give it a try. We were seated outside, and there was only one other party on their large patio. The patio is spacious and covered, but it is next to Route 9, so there is an abundance of traffic noise. * HONEY-CRISP CHICKEN SALAD: $17.25 1,360 calories * ENLIGHTENED SEARED AHI SALAD: $19.45 570 calories My Ahi Tuna salad was very good, not too much dressing and the tuna tasted fresh. Didn't get food until about an hour after we sat down. Appetizer and entrees arrived all at the same time and were only lukewarm. Went with a friend to watch the Copa America final and we sat at the bar. When the bartenders did engage with us they were pleasant but I emphasize "when" because getting them to do so was a challenge. Twice we asked for more water and beer and that took 10 minutes and the waters were never delivered. The wings were good, nice flavor and delivered hot so certainly a thumbs up there. Had my pizza been brought out hot it too would have been good but cold pizza when at the restaurant is not ideal. Combined with needing to ask for a plate/silverware, which was not provided, led to a rather poor experience. The staff did manage a situation with an upset patron well as he made a scene about how his napkins were delivered to him. It was nice to see the staff step in and help each other while this individual yelled and came close to becoming physical. Well done as things could have gone much worse. Overall not great and I won't be going back which is a shame because the space is perfect for watching sporting events and groups. read more

Fantastic selection of beer including the BJ's Oktoberfest which was very good. I had the Thursday evening Tri-Tip steak with 2 signature sides and their impressive "Pizookie" dessert for only $19. I was impressed with the quality and presentation of the entree; my only complaint if you call even call it that was the rice and steak were a little on the cool side.. I like my food to come out piping hot; the french fries were however. Great bar with plenty of TV's and open-concept restaurant design with outdoor/patio seating if you prefer. After two years from our disastrous first visit we returned to "try again". If there is one thing I can say that's positive about BJ's is that they are consistently bad. We both started with the chowder. It jiggled like a holiday jello mold and was as bland as, well I can't think of anything more bland. Salt and Pepper couldn't even save it. I had the Bacon Guac burger cooked medium. It was cool to the touch and had the texture of polenta. Like the chowder it was also bland at best. My dinning partner had the smokehouse burger and it was more of a house fire with the bun burnt to a crisp and the burger was undercooked. Both got sent back and the replacements were equally disappointing. All I can say we tried. On a positive note the soda and service was great. read more
