After a long, tough week, I stopped into BJ's for a little pick-me-up and the mini Pizookie totally hit the spot. Warm, gooey, and loaded with melty chocolate chips, it was everything I needed in that moment. The vanilla ice cream on top was creamy, delicious, and paired perfectly with the fresh-baked cookie. The service was great quick, kind, and exactly what I needed after a draining few days. It was inexpensive, but honestly felt like a small luxury. Getting 15 people to decide on a restaurant is a challenge. After reading out the list of options in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, enough of us decided that yes, BJ's was a good option and definitely better than Olive Garden or Red Robin or Chili's. I called and the host said that he could seat our party of 15 in 45 minutes. Off we go. Our long table was set up "outside" the restaurant but inside the shopping mall. Plenty of opportunity for our loud bunch to be fun and raucous without disturbing other patrons. We were served by the wonderful Brandy. Yes, Brandy Brandy Brandy! Giving back as much as we gave her with great humor and tremendous patience and a huge smile, she had help from others but she was definitely the face of BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse as appetizers and more appetizers and MORE appetizers came out. Then it was time for main courses. And finally, we let her convince us to order a couple of their pizookies for the table. So. Much. Food. I had some of the dip trio (cheese, spinach artichoke, guacamole), a couple potstickers and a mozzarella stick. Somehow, the couscous mac & cheese balls and the avocado egg rolls skipped past me and I missed out as I heard good things. I did enjoy their hefeweizen that was very tasty. Main course, I had one of their individual pizzas. Tasty deep dish that was pretty good. The cheeseburgers looked great and I did hear one complaint down the table that cheddar cheese does not belong on a cheesesteak. The wedge salad with blue cheese and sliced steak looked amazing. I'd have that next time. We let Brandy talk us into a "pizookie" which is a skillet cooked cookie dough. We had ours topped with strawberries and vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Because fruit makes it healthy, right? 15 people, many of whom had two drinks, maybe a dozen appetizers, 15 main courses, four or five pizookies. BJ's is one of the few large restaurant establishments left that leaves you feeling taken care of and cared for in your experience. I picked up some food using the BJ's app and some rewards and it was such a lovely exchange. No hidden purchase-necessary terms, just walked in, grabbed my bag of food to-go. Met some friends here. It was the first time my boyfriend and I ever ate at this restaurant. My friend said this location was a little smaller than the others she had been to. We walked in to find a really cool looking drink they had started with. It was in a bathtub with a rubber ducky. So cute. Of course we had to get one too. I really enjoyed my meal. Very yummy. Service was painfully slow despite the bar not being busy, and every interaction felt like we were bothering her. First they want to charge me $6.98 for a KIDS mini pizookie in person take out , when it's originally 3.79 online to order whether you're a kid or not. After being sat at a table we waited for 30minutes for someone to come serve us which I finally walked up to the lady who sat us and explained that we were still waiting to be served she looked confused then realized she sat us in the wrong area so we had to move to another area afterwards. We visited on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm. It was not too busy. Our server Zakiya quick, friendly, and there when we needed her. I am grateful I was allowed to substitute chicken for steak in the strawberry fields salad, it was delicious and exactly what I was in the mood for. I came in around 9:30 at night and Zac was very cheerful greeting our table and helping us order a banger pizookie. 10/10 Zac is the goat!

Let me start off by saying, this is the first time in a little minute that I have had a great experience from start to finish. I usually always order to-go from here but I decided to dine in. It is a pretty good size inside as it is located at Citrus Park Mall. The ambience is nice and cozy not supper bright but bright enough to be able to read the menu. We were seated right away and I went around 10pm on a Friday so it wasn't busy at all which I liked. Our server came over and greeted us with a smile on his face. His name was Louis. He was so delightful. What I appreciated the most is that he was very personable. We were having difficulty deciding what to drink and he did not hesitate to take us through the menu and give us recommendations. He was very honest about what guest enjoyed and what they didn't based on what I was curious about, some servers will tell you everything is good when that is not always accurate. So for drinks I decided on one of their new refreshers(non alcoholic). It had mango pineapple and I believe strawberry with fruity popping boba and I was able to add a shot of tequila and that made it even more delicious. My friend wanted a beer and Louis was gracious enough to let her taste a few options, my top choice was the pumpkin beer surprisingly because I do not usually like pumpkin and he added a cinnamon sugar rim to it : ). As for entrees we both decided on salmon, I got the blackened and she got the cherry chipotle, both were very yummy along with the sides. All in all i would rate my experience a10/10 just because of the service alone. So if you are ever in the neighborhood and want amazing customer service ask for Louis. read more

BJ's is my go-to late night comfort restaurant! Living near downtown Tampa, this BJ's is the closest to me - but definitely worth the commute. We were seated immediately on a Sunday night and our server was super attentive. Not sure if I was just really thirsty, but the water they served us was some of the crispiest, coldest water I've ever tasted lol (weird to review, I know). The music in the restaurant was REALLY loud, which kind of bothered me and made it hard to hear, but overall the experience was good. Sooo I was pretty excited to try this place again after it closed down and reopened. Sadly the quality has gone down even more. The flat bread barely had any bacon or avocado on it (as you can see in the picture) and the monkey bread pizookie was super hard and dry which is surprising because the pizookies are normally the best thing on the menu! You can see my previous pics/review from 4 years ago and it's crazy how much this place has changed. I will say the service is great though, our server was super nice and attentive. I absolutely love this place. I have ordered from them on Uber eats but I personally love going to the mall and going in to have food and some beers. The bartender Jessica is absolutely amazing and I always enjoy going in to see her when I go to the mall. Food: OK, reason I returned to this BJ's is I have been a customer for the past 7-10 years - however, had not returned in @ 3 years. But always enjoyed everything. Prices were fair. Boy was I surprised with the cost of food. To level set, one of the most inexpensive dishes we ordered was pasta Alfredo with chicken. Pretty much priced @ $13-18 in most restaurants. Today I paid $22.00 - that's pretty high for a non gourmet/Italian restaurant to charge. The rest went uphill from there. So basically will not be returning to BJ's - for quite awhile. read more

I believe at this time, we are witnessing the death of corporate owned restaurants. I for one can see a recurring trend in many places of late, BJ's is nit exempt. The pandemic, coupled with what management wants to pay their employees, and your left with an organization that cannot properly staff a restaurant to meet the supply and demand of their customers needs. To start, it is always a bad look when the sign at the front door states that only limited seating is available while blaming the economy. We waited 25 minute for a table while most of the tables in the restaurant sat empty. Once seated, we found out why. Management for BJ's is only allowing 3 tables per server at a time. This caused the only bartender on the clock to get overloaded because everyone else opted to sit at the bar to get a table. The trickledown effect is that is it took an additional 20 minutes to get a beer at my table. I ordered a Bistro burger medium rare. What came to the table was literally charred while the bacon was undercooked, creating a complete oxymoron of what I had asked for. Of course I sent it back, but was disappointed to see that the cook used the same bun and condiments from my previous burger rather than making it fresh. Our server had a great attitude and he took it in stride, offering up that the restaurant had one of their cooks walk out the day before and that they were doing the best that they could. My daughter ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. This time, the cook confused the cheesesteak with what was (we think) a French dip sandwich, complete with Au Jus, horseradish and banana peppers. After complaining (to me) that it had a strange taste, she gave up and ate the fries instead. My wife ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Tacos. She actually liked them but thought the they were a little on the small side for the price. In a perfect metaphor for this locations state of affairs, the roof is leaking just outside the foyer entrance leading in to the dining room and the AC had reportedly not been blowing for days. The temperature inside wasn't completely unbearable, it was decidedly humid and balmy. I've had a subpar experience at this location before, and with the benefit of doubt intact, was hoping for a better experience this time around. As much as I do like the brand, I really can't see another return visit to this location any time soon. read more

I mean this place is always amazing! Such a huge menu, great quality and of course the pazookies! My favorite is the Oreo pazookie but the monkey bread comes in a close second!
