(Looking back- I am happier it worked out this way- no flap!). The staff and Doctors are extremely personable and friendly and truly made me feel comfortable, which is important in any setting, but especially when your eyes are involved it is a bit of a scary surgery to commit to. I drove all the way from Vienna VA to go to this office and would absolutely say it was worth the drive. I would recommend to anyone who is considering lasik or prk to go here. Everything is very clean, and professional and they explain everything thoroughly and take their time. The office is very busy, but I never felt like I was just another patient. Something else I really liked about the office is that they keep it dark.(not DARK but they don't use a lot of bright fluorescent bulbs) Sounds weird, but after surgery or after having your eyes dilated this was a nice added bonus. A good example of how I felt they went the "extra mile" The fact that they did enough testing to decide that LASIK wasn't the best choice for me was impressive. I have had two doctors tell me that LASIK would be fine, but the testing they did was not nearly as extensive. I am grateful because I probably would have just gotten lasik, even though it isn't the best option for my eyes. Kind of scary to think there are doctors out there that will just do a surgery without paying that much attention. I am glad now that each time I thought I was ready for the surgery I chickened out, so I could finally find this office. Highly, Highly recommended!

After calling several offices, I was unable to get an emergency appointment. Thankfully, when I called Capital Eye, Dr. Mark Gonzalez recognized that I needed to be seen and was able to schedule an appointment right away. Let me first mention that his staff was extremely nice (which is important since they are the first impression for a doctor) and they seem to work well together as a team. More importantly, I found Dr. Gonzalez to be WONDERFUL. He was very friendly, pleasant and thorough with my examination (even when he chastised me for wearing my lenses overnight). He explained my condition without me having to Google to understand and contacted me the next day to follow up. I really appreciate the care I received and I am happy to entrust my eye care to him. I would recommend Dr. Gonzalez (and his staff) HIGHLY.

I was lucky to get her because she was filling in that day from her normal duties as clinical operations manager. Ms, Marshall was excellent from start to finish. I consider this a public service announcement:…read more I have been a patient of Solomon Eye Associates for over 45 years. I had cataract surgery in December that left me blind in my left eye. The end result was needing a cornea transplant. Obviously I was very disappointed in outcome. The worst part of my dealings with Dr. Solomon was the fact that 2 days before my cornea transplant surgery they called me into their office and notified me that I had to pay an additional $5-$10k (shakedown) because they were not making "enough" profit. If I did not pay immediately they would remove me from the surgery schedule and refer me to another doctor. They tried to explain the additional cost as "additional premium services". After discussing with Dr. Solomon I found this isn't truthful and it as simple as not making enough profit. Apparently United Health Care doesn't pay Solomon and the Surgery Center enough for this procedure. After seeing Dr. Stephen Solomon for almost 50 years I have personally witnessed the decline in care. Solomon Associates has become a factory that appears to be taking advantage of patients. Please perform some amount of due diligence when picking a Ophthalmologist. I would highly recommend NOT using Solomon Eye Associates.

Even if I had to get my eyes dilated (always a trippy feeling), the staff there was awesome. Dakota at the front desk was helpful in taking all the information needed from me as a new patient, having me fill in forms, taking payment, etc. I liked that I was able to check in with the iPad. The wait wasn't that long, despite the office being busy, and when I was taken back, Mimi was awesome that asking and answering new patient questions along with explaining everything that was happening before it happened. The level of care was awesome, and the entire office seems like they work together well and definitely know what they're doing! Dr. Malouf was also great. He suggested a new ice cream flavor for me to try (Turkey Hill's Double Dunker, which he says is his favorite), and explained all concerns with my eye photos really well. Fortunately, my eyes are healthy and I don't have to see them again for another year -- but if I did, I wouldn't mind! Parking might be a little confusing. The text I got ahead of time said to park in the garage, but that there were a limited number of labeled spaces out front for their patients, and I happened to be able to grab one of those. The office location is well labeled and easy to find, the office itself was clean and well-kept, and it's conveniently next to The Spot Food Hall so you can grab something yummy after your appointment!
