We were visiting the coast on a cold and dreary day so I was a little hesitant to get my kids ice cream. However, the warmth of the store was so nice and the tables provided shelter from the cold wind. The girls got cotton candy ice cream which was pink with bits of color. Through our whole trip there have been varying colors of cotton candy so a pure pink one was interesting. My oldest wasn't a fan of the ice cream probably due to the lack of a blue pink color even though I thought it was very on point. I did a sample taste of butterbrickle which I wasn't a fan of but had to try due to the odd name. The girl working behind the counter was the only one there and she was nice. The shop also sells fudge, saltwater taffy, sweaters, and hand bags. The sweaters are a great idea if you thought coming to the coast would be warm. Parking lot is on the pier and there was plenty available while we were there. read more

We were at the coast and just had lunch so figured a bit of ice cream would top it off. I saw the big sign and stopped. There were enough flavors but none really sounded good. We got one half & half scoop blackberry and rocky road which ended up being way too much. The price for one scoop in a cup was $5.99 but your at the coast. Ice cream is good.... When you can catch them open!!! They don't adhere to their hours at all. One night we tried to get ice cream 30 mins before the posted closing time- the girl with dirty blonde hair was already closing up and tried ignoring us when we came to the door. We kept knocking and she side eyed us until opening the door, then begrudgingly served us. We thanked her endlessly and tipped her $20 (for 2 cones!!!) and even still she was noticeably irritated. A few nights later we tried to visit again but they were closed a whole hour before the closing time! Sad to leave this review but others should know if in the area: don't expect for the place to be open. smh. read more

I would like to say thank you to the your man that was working on Saturday 7/26. He was so proud of himself to short change my family on our three pints of ice cream. When we went back to have the pints filled up he did not want to stop helping the people in line no matter that we had already stood in the line for twenty minute. He refunded us 40 dollars of our 42 dollar purchase. This was the second time we had been in this week and the first time we were treated great. I guess spending 120 dollars in your shop of the two time this week we were in is just not enough to get good customer service. Please get you phone that is disconnected repair or pay the bill as trying to call was a problem. read more

At some of the locations they have Butter Brickle ice cream. It's an old fashioned flavor, but our very favorite. We rarely find it at an ice cream parlor. We bought some Friday night and bought a huge container before we left Florence on Saturday. It survived the four hour trip home. My husband is eating some now! BJ's Butter Brickle is our very favorite ice cream. The people working there are great. read more

We've tried a lot of the different food places in Winchester Bay and have generally been disappointed, but Bj's ice cream was a welcome change. I'd give a 5-star review regardless just to counteract all the negative reviews complaining about them not being open (just don't leave a review in that case; how can you complain when you haven't even been through the front door). I wasn't in an ice cream mood, but my wife had the coconut crunch and salted caramel. She loved both. I had a bite of each and I don't care for coconut much, so my opinion on that doesn't matter, but the salted caramel was great. My kiddo had the blue moon, which another reviewer pointed out was like a fruity cereal flavor, which I think is pretty spot on. Not my thing, but their flavors all seemed to be right on the mark and the texture was very creamy. We just did face rock creamery in coos bay the day before (which serves umpqua ice cream) and this was definitely a step above that. I was also coerced into buying fudge by another patron who said they specifically go there for it. I ended up with some chocolate salted caramel fudge, which was quite good and surprisingly light textured for fudge. Lastly, there was one younger gentleman working the counter who was very patient with us and happy to give a few samples. I tipped him a few bucks for being so nice, so we definitely got some good customer service. read more

My family and I went on Sunday May 26, 2024 around 4pm. We did show up with about 6 head count. It was a little busy when we showed up and we understood the wait time was going to be a little bit. When it was our turn to be served the 2 young girls seemed not be inserted in helping us. The young girl that did help us short blonde hair needs to have some customer service class or be shown how to talk or communicate to people. The amount of money we spent I would have liked at the minimum of a thank you for the girl. read more

Nothing special. I think it's the worst ice cream I've had. I tried 3 flavors and all had a very weird aftertaste, like they sourced water from a puddle behind their shop. It's very off-putting. Even the ice cream sandwiches had the same weird taste but the cookies were good. It also melted incredibly fast. My daughter walked outside and it was dripping everywhere by the time we got to the car. And it was mid-70s outside. The base recipe needs some work in my unprofessional, culinary uneducated opinion. I think that maybe this place must be a local favorite for nostalgia reasons. Otherwise, I just don't get the appeal. Support this local business but lower expectations. read more

So disappointing ice cream was nothing to right home about. Husband ordered a chocolate shake from a gal and one scoop of ice cream. He waited for another couple to get there shakes. The ice cream here was amazing, they were open late 8 pm I believe, never found an hours listing in the place. I would suggest blue moon ice cream flavor, tastes like fruit loops, not sure I can ever have that cereal again after tasting blue moon. They sell salt water taffy too, I agree with a previous person that the flavors kind of ran together and after a while it all kind of tastes the same, but it was as fresh as you can get. read more

YUM! This last time we were in Winchester Bay, we tried to go here literally every day! They have lots of different flavors, and I haven't tried a kind yet that I don't love! They also have several sugar-free flavors. The ice-cream is creamy, and tastes freshly-made. Some kinds I love are: Salted Caramel, Peppermint Crunch, and they have a Kahlua one with Heath bar pieces in it! There are lots of other good kinds too (some of the names are escaping me). It has a cute, old-towny, beach-store atmosphere, and everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. They also sell fudge and salt-water taffy. This place is close to lots of the RV Parks and the sand dunes, so if you're visiting for duning, this ice-cream shop is in a great location! It's right along the water, and also near some good seafood restaurants. (Or so I've heard...I'm vegetarian :)) We HIGHLY recommend this place! (I say "we", because my boyfriend cannot stop talking about it...he says this may be some of the best ice-cream he's ever had!) read more
