It's a magically fun experience. The Galleria is always incredibly decorated for the holidays. I still get to Houston 1-2 times a year and always enjoy visiting The Galleria. The Galleria itself has not only the ice rink but office space, two hotels, lots of places to eat, and shopping. The retail offerings range from shops like H&M, Macy's, and Nordstrom to high-end luxury shops like Gucci & Chanel. We were there just a few months ago and it was just as fun and exciting as my first visit! Gang, there are so many stores here. Like crazy amounts (a few hundred). There is a tiny post office on the second floor with limited hours but it definitely beats having to go all the way to the other side of downtown to use a post office. The convention center was strategically right across the street from our hotel. My friends and I decided to attend a women's body building conference at George R. Brown convention center. We have all toyed with the idea of participating in a bodybuilding contest. Then you think about the strict clean eating, intense workout routines and the number of supplements you dump into body, then you press the pause button. We found our way into the arena where the women's bodybuilding contest was taking place. The room was filled with anticipation, admiration, and respect. When the athletes stepped on stage, the entire space seemed to zero in on them...their massively lean bodies, muscle definition and their practiced poses. While we watched with admiration, none of us committed to pull the trigger on body building. The George R. Brown Convention Center provided the perfect backdrop to explore the possibility of bodybuilding. In addition, we perused the vendors present associated with fitness. It is always a part of growing as an individual when explore new possibilities.

It's in the top ten by sq ft in the US, but that long hallway seems to go on forever and forever. I was here for a convention (duh) and everything was in one general area. There were lots of escalators to move between floors, and lots of hotels and restaurants around to accommodate the crowd. Very well done. Bathrooms were kept clean but they could use an update with some barriers and some spacing. There were lots of water filling stations and the staff kept up with refilling things like coffee and drinks they were providing. Lunch provided in the convention hall was done well. It was "lunch" fare for sure with sandwiches and salads and stuff like that, but they kept everything organized in feeding a bunch of attendees. I ate at both Pappadeux's and Saltgrass which are connected to the Convention Center and both were excellent choices.

They have a wonderful assortment of unique and well curated gift items including jewelry, cards, tote bags, art, candles, clothing and chachkies. The very friendly salesperson was happy and eager to help me which just topped off the great little visit on the way to the airport. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for unique and thoughtful gifts.

This event is geared towards the artists and creatives at heart. The building sets the tone before you even go inside with all the colorful art designs all over. It's like industrial design meeting the new modern design, it's enticing. Makes you want to see what's on the inside. We walked through most of the vendors that had a shop. I say most but there were so many I'm sure there was a lot more to see. The rooftop is a beautiful place to take photos and get a pretty nice view of art district.
