Pork with gnocchi was amazing and definitely be reordering this. The goat cheese salad was ok but not much goat cheese and other toppings and the butternut squash soup was lacking flavor but those were the only dishes that weren't amazing! The restaurant is a fantastic addition to the Destin restaurant scene... a mix of new American with a little New Orleans for good measure. The short rib gnocchi and blackened redfish were great. Went to bitterroot for brunch with a party of 3. At first was a little thrown off by their egregious drink prices. $14 for 1 mimosas or something like $24 for bottomless. Keep in mind right down the street Mcguires does bottomless mimosas for $7.99. The service was good however the food was not. One of us ordered the bread pudding which was supposed to come with bacon and did not. However, after seeing how overcooked the bacon was on my plate, we did not ask for it. I've never seen bacon this over cooked and dry before. It was the consistency of a potato chip. I'm shocked that they allowed bacon that looked like this to be served. The biscuit that I had with my meal wasn't cooked in the center and the grits were sub par as well. The third member got crab cakes Benedict and did not enjoy them. They were very salty. Over all I would not recommend going to bitterroot for brunch. The quality of food does not equate to the price that they are charging. There are far better brunch options in the area. Cute restaurant with potential. The appetizers were very good. My friends enjoyed the pasta and filet. My pork chop was over cooked and drowning in spicy collard greens. Tough and not enjoyable. The service was my biggest complaint. We went mid week, so it was not a busy night. Some time after we got our meals, we lost our waitress. We finished eating, chatted for about 20 minutes and when it was time for us to go, we had to hunt for our waitress. And to top it off, our plates were never removed. We left the restaurant, and our dinner plates were still on the table. I expect better service from a restaurant that wants to succeed. read more

I was really wanting this place to be good! Was disappointed. The waiter was very nice. We ordered the charcuterie for an app but they ran out. So my next choice was the shrimp corn dog. I expecting a shrimp surrounded by a corn fritter but instead got a small corn dog shaped mushy corn bread experience. Ordered the Cesar salad was excellent. Loved it. Ordered the steak with cauliflower mash. It was not good. Steak cold and lots of gristle. They took it off my bill and brought us dessert that was very good and nice of them. Came about this joint as we were staying down the street. It's not that easy to find (Don't worry, Google Maps will get ya there) but it's totally worth it. The food both from a presentation and taste standpoint was fantastic ( there was 7 of us in our party and we had quite a bit of the menu). They do great cocktails as well. Excellent dinner at Bitterroot. Recently opened restaurant and a hidden gem in Destin, the staff was friendly and responsive to us all night. Short but nicely curated wine selection, and the bar is well equipped for any cocktails you'd like. We really enjoyed the Street corn, Caesar, Gnocchi and Pub burger. MUST save room and try the Candy Bar dessert, very unique and delicious. If you're in the Destin area, highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back. read more
