Driven past it a few times, saw it had once gotten a USA today recommendation, and the big sign had "cupcakes, ice cream and coffee" written right there. Go in and there's not really a vibe to the place. There is an ice cream counter and a cup-cake counter, and a couple of soda fridges. The problem is.. I'm going in wanting ice cream, make my way over ot check and there's ONLY ONE tub in the entire case with anything in it. And it's BUTTER PECAN??? I swear, maybe i just need to lower my expectations or something? But then how do I be the best "Yelpee" i can be? Anyway enough about the introspective for now. So I'm here, let's see what else we can have problems with today, shall we? The "coke" fridge has a limited supply of drinks.. I guess the stockers hadn't run yet today? (so -1 star for no ice cream/drinks). Well, it's a heatwave, so coffee's out. and that just leaves Cupcakes.... and wow.. these things are HUGE! And that's just the cupcake, that's not counting the icing on top! Basically, two entirely different layers.. one for the cake and one for the frosting.. (talk about a sugar coma!) Anyway, time to take a pack of 4 to go... (the sit down locale wasn't really much to my recollection, it just seemed "there" as if this wasn't a good day as I don't' recall a lot of the amenities as shown in most Yelpers photos., or I was just too hot to notice. ). so it's grab and go... And I realize, just looking at them; this is not one of those deserts you can eat and drive, so maybe a full sealed rack is a good thing right?) I make it home and wouldn't you know it; I forgot that cupcakes were actually "Stuffed".. Surprise!! 3 deserts in one! Cake, Filling, and Icing! Anyway, I don't even make it all the way through the first cupcake as a whole before I realize... Yep, Sugar Coma all the way! Basically, you've been warned you can order more than 1 cupcake to yourself, but count on leftovers if you do!! Anyway, I finally snapped out of my sugar coma and got around to writing things before i go for another sugar coma (dont' forget, I ordered 4 cupcakes!!). So yes these things are huge and they are priced a little more than usual cupcakes, but absolutely worth every penny So IRONICALLY, if i had gone in for Cupcakes alone... this would be a 5* review. In this message I also told her how long I'd been supporting her & why and how much I loved her bakery. She is black, female, and truly an artist and master at her craft. With a good personality, That being said; she unleashed her fury on me, one of the angriest most condescending messages I had ever read. Not sure if I caught her on a bad day or she just doesn't handle feedback well. I was stunned and disappointed. Either way, I would never consider stepping foot into her bakery ever again. Her window has maybe 5 things to choose from. It's pretty sad, but there were 2 items I love love loved, and I drove out of my way and paid top dollar for those items. She's by far one of the most expensive bakeries in St. Louis, but I enjoyed supporting her I thought she was great. And she has a moving story. Sadly she doesn't know how to handle customers or feedback. I'm in customer service, 30 years, that's not how you do it, I still think she's a cool Person but not enough to support her. I had debated on the blueberry pop tart which Whisk is known for but decided not too. So the lady behind the counter gave us a pop tart for free so we could try it! It was incredible! So good I cannot explain it! The blueberry had a hint of lemon and the pastry part was perfectly flaky, butter and sweet but not greasy. My friend and I cannot stop talking about it and cannot wait to go back! Highly recommend!

They have a display case with all of the bakery items they have for sell. You can look straight ahead and see the kitchen area and staff making fresh goods. Staff were friendly and attentive, and made recommendations on items to try. I ordered an iced vanilla latte, a butter pecan cookie and a vanilla butter pecan cupcake. The vanilla latte was smooth, creamy and not too sweet. Their syrups are house made. The butter pecan cookie tasted exactly like butter pecan ice cream. It was soft and chewy, with a hint of salt on top to taste, and had a pecan placed on top. That was probably one of the best butter pecan cookies I've ever had. (Perfect cookie for the fall)
