Breakfast burrito hit the spot and my latte tasted great- it's always risky getting espresso in small towns but I made an audible 'MMMM' when I tasted it. Thank you for being great- sorry it took me so long to leave a review!

The enchilada itself was delicious! We also loved the fresh chips and salsa. The salsa had a really good smoky chipotle flavor with just the right amount of kick. The chips seemed like they were made in-house, if not, they were still super fresh and crispy. I got the Carne Asada. Way more than I could eat in one setting. The onions and peppers with the sauce was such a great compliment to the beef. I would definitely get this again. They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was warm and smoky so we opted for indoor. There appears to be some remodel going on in the back but it did not take away from the ambiance at all. The servers were very attentive with refilling beverages, getting our orders, delivering our food and checking if we needed anything else. No pictures this time but very good and I highly recommend them.

If you know me, you already know... I don't mess around when it comes to tacos. Every place we go,…read moreI'm out to find the best taco. We ended up at La Posada Mexican Grill in Madras, Oregon... and this is one of those spots that doesn't try to impress you from the outside... but the food absolutely does. I ordered a carne asada taco and their three crispy bean tacos that they're known for. The carne asada had that real flavor to it, not over-seasoned... just simple and done right and the tortillas... perfect. And those crispy bean tacos... I get why they're known for them. Crispy, flavorful, and just the right ratio of filling to topping. And the salsa bar... this is where you can tell if a place is serious. While it looks simple in the photo, it honestly deserves a review all on its own. Multiple salsas, all different, all fresh... pickled carrots (one of my favorites), and of course, radishes. But the kicker... what really put it over the top for me and sold me on coming back someday were the roasted chiles and grilled onions on the side. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how good this place really is. And I'll say this, because it proves itself over and over again... do not judge a Mexican restaurant by the outside of the building. Ever. Some of the best food you'll find is in the most unassuming places... and this is definitely one of them. So authentic.

I loved the Chile relleno but the cheese enchilada didnt cut it, not even melted cheese in there and the enchilada sauce was very salty. The beans and rice were both really good. Upon arrival, it became immediately clear that the property was not fit for our occupancy. The first room provided, which had been reserved in advance, was infested with bedbugs. I documented both the pest and the injuries sustained as a result. When I raised my concerns, a second room was offered as a resolution. Unfortunately this room was also unacceptable, it contained soiled bedding, had clearly been used without housekeeping service, and lacked proper lighting, making it unsafe and uncomfortable. A third room was eventually presented but this one was visibly infested with cockroaches. After raising these repeated concerns with the on-duty representative, we were assured we'd not be charged for the stay and that a full refund would be issued. We immediately canceled the stay, turned over the room key(s), and left the property to secure alternative lodging. Despite this agreement, we were later charged for the room that was never suitable for occupancy. I attempted to resolve this matter directly with the Economic Lodge on three separate occasions, but my efforts were unsuccessful. At this point I'm disputing the charge through my cc company and felt compelled to share my experience publicly. IMO the conditions of this property fell far below even the most basic lodging standards. Services paid for were not rendered, the premises were unsanitary, and the management failed to honor their own commitments. I strongly encourage travelers to exercise caution before booking this location.
