The Shaniko Hotel and Cafe have been closed for close to 15 years, +/- due to a squabble between the owner and the city government regarding water issues. I believer these reviewers are actually talking about and reviewing the ice cream parlor that is next door to the Shaniko Cafe. The Shaniko cafe was "ok" when it was in operation and the hotel itself was quite grand albeit uncomfortable by modern standards. The owner spend a lot of money refurbishing the place and kept things pretty much the same as they were when the property was a turn-of-the-century hotel. As in, still beds, no air conditioning and so on....

The car group I belong two stopped at the Shaniko Cafe twice this summer and enjoyed their sandwiches and ice cream. Both were delicious.

Angelina’s Coffee Company - Breakfast Burrito

Angelina's Coffee Company is top notch. Make sure not to overlook this place! Prices are…read morecompetitive, but the quality & generous portions helps to confirm you made a good choice! When we pulled up behind a car at the drive-thru window, a friendly gal came out the side door and asked if we knew what we wanted. We told her we couldn't read the menu this far away so she quickly brought a menu to us. We chose the Breakfast Burrito & a heated Cinnamon Roll to split. That burrito was huge and so good! The cinnamon roll wasn't "Cinnabon" but it was still good & scratched our cinnamon roll "itch"! It's easy to miss this place if you're not paying attention. It's on the side of the gas station itself, rather than a free standing business. Just watch for their bright red menu boards. We'll definitely be back!

Pretty decent food, price was a little high but ingredients were fresh and prices are high…read morenowadays, so understandable. The service was not all that friendly, the lady that helped me at the drive thru did not make me feel very welcome. I asked a few simple questions, like "what flavors of milkshake do you have?" and "what's your pink sauce?" and she made me feel kind of dumb for asking them. Overall, the food was good but I probably wouldn't go back because it wasn't worth the somewhat unfriendly/awkward interaction.
