I'm extremely wary of viral places on social media, as they often don't live up to the hype, but this place was amazing. I was slightly apprehensive when I first walked up; one of the staff seemed a little standoffish initially, but I ended up sitting at the bar. The majority of the staff were vibing and having a good time. They seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. I had the pleasure of being served by Alicia (apologies if misspelled); she was very down to earth and sociable, but not sociable in an overwhelming or fake way. She was chill and very talented. The concept of the bar is no menus. You describe the elements and liquors or classic cocktails that you like, and they create custom drinks. Alicia is 100% that girl! Everything she made for all the bar patrons received positive feedback; the woman couldn't make a bad drink if she tried. She used a few ingredients that I don't like, but the drinks were so well-balanced and so delicious that I didn't know until she told me the ingredients. This is my favorite bar in Paris, hands down. My friend didn't know what she wanted and our waiter asked if she wanted fruity, floral, or savory/salty. We Americans are not used to being offered "floral," and that was exactly what she wanted! Perfect place for a drink while in Paris. This is such a fun concept. A friend recommended this bar, where they ask your tastes and create a drink for you. They will ask 1) if you'd like an alcoholic drink, non-alcoholic drink, or beer, 2) floral, herbal, or fruity, and 3) sweet, sour, or balanced. Then they'll make a drink to your taste! I had non-alcoholic, fruity, and balanced and it was perfect. My friend had a cocktail that was fruity and sweet and she enjoyed hers as well. It would be very fun to try a few different drinks with different twists each time and see what they come up with. Great place, excellent service, and great prices too at 12€ a drink for alcoholic cocktails and 8€ for non-alcoholic. Would definitely recommend. Only downside is I wish it were on a slightly more lively street for a more entertaining people watching, but that's far from an issue! read more

A must-go for cocktail lovers in Paris. The bar is in the Marais, a lively neighborhood with other renowned bars close by. The bar is small -- even with outdoor seating -- but when we came in early on a weekday evening we found two seats at the bar. The way it works is that the bartenders ask you what you like in a drink, and then they build a cocktail based on what you tell them. Our experience was that the beautiful, well-made drinks embodied the spirit of what we had asked for. Once you've tasted the drink, they take the time to explain the ingredients and method. What makes this whole system work is the bartenders' obvious skill and deep knowledge of spirits, and more importantly, their total lack of pretension. They are all about making the experience about what you want, not what you should want or what they know. The drinks are a flat and fair price (12 Euros when we were there over the summer). We walked in intending to order a drink and move on, but instead we stayed for a second round and barely made it to our dinner reservation. Fantastic cocktail bar - if you can find a seat. About 40 seats out front and another dozen inside. Simple concept of 12 for all cocktails and 7 for beers. Cocktails are bartender made to order. All you do is name your liquor and give them some guidance and they'll craft you something delicious. I asked for a vieux carre with a twist and ended up with a harsher version of the drink which definitely got my vibe. Also asked for a Japanese whiskey based without too much sugar and ended up with a lemony whiskey sour that totally worked. Totally French environment with all the outdoor cafe seating, but bartenders spoke English well and the area was full of locals and tourists alike on a late Saturday night. A friend studying in Paris decided to take me out to this cocktail spot one evening. It's very small, with some outdoor seating, a few spots at the bar, and a single wall of bench seating. Nothing super special looking, but I was intrigued when my friend told me the concept for the spot - no menu, you tell the bartender what you like, what you're in the mood for, and they craft your perfect cocktail. I told the bartender I liked earthly flavors at citrus, and my liquor of choice was gin. A little while later and he came back with a bowl (odd, but okay) containing one of the most delicious cocktails I'd ever had! It was so artfully done, and the flavors were amazing. My friends also received some really delicious drinks, catered to exactly what they liked. One girl thought hers was a little too sour, and the bartender completely remade the drink for her - he said it was important that she love her cocktail. We played a guessing game with each other about what are drinks contained. After we were finished, the bartender came back around to tell us what was in our drinks - mine was beet juice!
