I got the Bond's Sneaky Martini (Cream Vodka, White Cap Mattei, Marie Brizard Vanilla, pecan water) while my cousin got the Tropicool (Janneau Armagnac, Tropical cordial, Cointreau Pomelo Distillate, Pear Belle de Brillet). I enjoyed the martini, it was tasty and made for a good alcoholic drink. The abv was 20%, so it was pretty strong, especially since I don't drink alcohol much anymore. This place is amazing! It is unique and kind of hidden , but once you are in, you are transported to an underground club with super cool vibes. We had a reservation so we were sat promptly to order some drinks. Our water was super nice and gave us great pointers and suggestions on the cocktails based on things we like. The cocktails are priced at around 15euro per drink, so not the most affordable, but it makes for a cool experience and the quality of the drinks is definitely top notch. read more

Enjoying cocktails around the world, a friend and I picked Le Syndicat as our only Paris cocktail bar experience. The draw was the fast that they use only French products. In an intimate space along a busy road, the staff do a great job in welcoming guests. There are a few tables spread across two small rooms and a bar with seating. The menu is small, but well explained. Enjoying more sweet and/or sour drinks, I got the Ice Ice Baby. Coming with foam on the top, I enjoyed it. Only downfall is, the menu isn't translated for us foreigners, so be sure to do your research beforehand if you are not a french speaker. The patio tables out front are definitely worth grabbing versus inside - depending on the weather. A great cocktail bar to visit! We made reservations for our party of 6 in advance, and glad we did since it was packed when we came in on a Tuesday evening. We sat in the back and had plenty of space for our group. Their cocktail menu is pretty unique in the sense that each cocktail is inspired after a different French monument/attraction. All their cocktails use only French liquors as well. My personal favorite was the "peach don't kill my vibe," which was a light and refreshing balance of grey goose, kombucha, and a hint of a floral flavor. The cognac drink, "watch the throne" was also really good. Their take on an old fashion was good, but strong and a little sweeter than traditional old fashions. The group also ended up ordering the punch and it was good. It was sweeter with more fruit flavor and a floral taste as well. Loved sitting outside this bustling street sipping uniquely French cocktails on a summer night. The waitress was sweet, funny and entertaining. The drinks were a pure delight. I don't usually like sweet drinks, but the "Hey Sexy Lady" was fun to order, arrived with a few feathers attached to the stem in a nod to the Moulin Rouge and tasted delicious. I've been looking for something like this here. France makes so many incredible brandies and eau de vies, but so few bars seem to use them. Le Syndicat is using 100% French ingredients, and doing an incredible job with them. These are the best drinks in Paris. Drinks were as good or better as my favorite west coast US bars (Trick Dog, Wilson and Wilson, Pepe Le Moco). We tried three from the cocktail menu and each one was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. I don't understand how the average is 3.5 stars, it's the singularly most impressive food/drink I've had here. Le Syndicat is doing some molecular stuff, which usually I find gimicky/stilted. But they are doing it right. Bitter orange smoke in "smoking car" takes an already great drink (sidecar), adds a few levels of flavor depth, and balances it perfectly. The presentation is spot on as well. Other drinks we tried were Le Laurier Apollon, and Mad in France. Le Laurier Apollon is a calvados and ginger driven drink with an herbal foam. The drink itself was a harmonious balance of flavors with a strong ginger note. Again, this is not easy to pull off. It's topped with an herbal foam that while tasty, might be the only thing I can criticize; I think there's a little too much foam on the top of this one and it gets in the way of the tasty cocktail underneath. This is a small quibble, the drink is still better than any offering from other bars here. Mad in France is a layer drink with foam, which usually means "unbalanced drink that looks funny." But again, each piece made sense, there was a tart foam on top to wake up your pallet, a balanced tangy drink with beautiful Armagnac notes in the middle, and a sweet strawberry sip for desert. Our bartender was Aris, a man who clearly loves what he does. He was incredibly knowledgable about all of his products, and took the time to explain the drinks for us. We sat at the bar, and it was a delight watching him work; every movement was quick and precise, and the attention to detail was admirable. Nothing went out that wasn't perfect. It is definitely a premium offering, and you pay for it. Cocktails were priced similarly to other upscale bars (e.g. Le Mary Celeste), but were so much better. read more

The service was good and we were able to be seated quickly on a busy Thursday night. The decor was cool in a definite hot-spot sort of way, and the 90s hip hop was an interesting departure from the normal Parisian bar soundtrack. Next to us was a group of younger girls on a night out, and on the other side was an older couple heavily making out. Really interesting bar program, but the drink I ordered was just really not good. I got the Modern Thyme, which tasted like thyme, but when somebody else tried my drink they likened it to cigarette ashes and I couldn't wipe that out of my mind.
